Only the default (TGN Light) theme for now. Dark them is also coming back soon. Then CSN. Then Wrestlin' Nation. A lot of WIP stuff right now. There are a couple of things still not working either. Sorry.
Can we not have ground pounders say how jets should be in BF3?
I don't want jets to suck and some of you guys have no clue whatsoever how flying even was in BF2. All some of you are saying is to nerf them or implement something to nerf them and essentially make flying suck in BF3.
Just stop with the ****ty suggestions. I can't even respond to some of the suggestions being made, they're so horribly unbalanced.
You might as well throw the tracer dart in BF3 while you're at it. :R
I think marking vehicles is fine, something that gives off heat/exhaust/etc. Or if not at least marking friendly vehicles. Mainly to prevent friendly fire. Also, I really hope this 3D spotting does not come over from BC2.
But I think that's a bit drastic for the carrier AA system, because I can often get to close to it while attacking an enemy and then I get rocked because somebody was just sitting on the AA gun dicking around and gets lucky.
like I said, just some thoughts, wouldn't even have to operate like a tracer, maybe just spot them on the minimap automatically when locked on; add a bit of coordination to the AA
as for the carrier AA, its really just that I think some forms of AA should be more powerful than others, I'm hoping for huge maps, even bigger than BF2 in some areas so going toward a carrier shouldn't just be a case of lol Ill cannon down the AA then murder everyone on the deck, but more of a god dam that thing can destroy me, as it should be imo
Ok, then let's get rid of anything that can damage a jet. Even your bullets.
Sure. We will do that by removing the Jets completely from the game and place them in their own flightsim where the only opponent are the AI.
But as long as they are interacting with the rest of the world, the groundpounder will have strong opinoins about how they should be balanced.
Or should we only let the snipers have a say in the balancing of their rifles? And maybe let the Assault class decide how the GL works?
And I can tell you that the AT spe******ts are also going to give the nuclear AT launcher favoruable reviews.
ETA why is the middle of "specia lists" censored, has the filter gone bonkers?

OK, well first off, its the ground pounders game too.
Second, this is opinionated talk anyway. Who cares what is said? If something is crazy, explain why you think so. Its your opinion.
Third. I dont think DICE is taking notes on our posting. Maybe they are, and if so, getting everyones input on it is actually a good thing as us jet pilots may not see the weakness of the ground pounders. Something tells me though they already have the jets down and thats that with them anyway.

The problem with the suggestions you're coming up with have butthurt written all over them because they'd make jets so nerfed. That's like someone who always gets killed by snipers whenever he touches a flag saying that it should take snipers 3 shots to kill enemies. Sure, you might think that's ridiculous and that this is completely different, but if you'd stop being so fixed on nerfing jets, you'd be more willing to understand.
Landing to repair would be the equivalent of land vehicles needing to go to a repair bay in order to repair. I bet it bothers you thinking about two engineer/support pilots repairing/rearming each other mid-flight. But two tanks doing the same probably wouldn't bother you as much.

Also, the pilots should have a permanently attached IR lightbulb in the form of a clown nose. That way they can still be tracked after they eject.
Relax spik3d, you are not going to convince anybody that way.
Tell us how would you prevent the Jets from dominating? Say reduce it to the threat level of a Tank?
Handheld AA, with a short time required to lock-on and at least two shots from handheld AA to kill a jet at full armor. The handheld AA will be pretty much useless against non-aerial vehicles by either requiring a lock-on to fire or by having unpredictable flight patterns without a lock.
Thats pretty much the SAAW from BF2142. A good weapon, but suffering from DICE-code.
I wouldnt mind that solution, and I suspect that we will actually get something like it in BF3. But a lot of people are going to whine and call it a skill-less weapon because of the lock-on.
Area Air Defense Systems such as Patriot missile and S-300 as commander assets, covers only part of the map. Can either be captured as flag point (like Titan missile in 2142), destroyed by explosives, or disabled by some unlock gadget. Reload time is limiting factor to allow certain amount of jet rape.
