although i prefer the knifing in BF2142 i dont mind this knifing.. in BF2142 i was alway looking over my shoulder for tag hunters at least now tag collecting has been devalued, its so easy that having your tags taken isnt a problem anymore.

Now i understand a lot of people are fine with the knife after we seem to have inherited the (imo) stupidly ridiculous CoD way of knifing.

However is this really what we want in a bf game? I remember back in BF2 and 2142 when collecting dogtags used to have a thrill about it, running up behind someone with your knife feeling very exposed at the same time was a massive rush. However this has been completely taken away in BC2.

I know this ISNT BF2 or 2142 so dont get those stupid arguments going i just feel that once again we have been left with a lack of CQC in this game. It seems if you get close to anyone you just hit the win key and everything is fine and another dogtag under your belt.

What are peoples opinions? Oh and please try and keep the blocks of text arguments out of this one, thanks

Does anyone know why some people have silver colored tags?

I believe you get them when you get someones dogtags again, so bronze tags are for the 1st time and silver for the 2nd.

The system is like this as its easier to do on consoles as opposed to switching weapons using a button.

I think the system is a bit sinister to me as majority of my knife kills ends up with me stabbing people in the back of the head.

True, but then you can always disable autoaim and make it reliant more on skill, Promod in COD4 had it down pretty well.

Ok........ first off everyone needs to get off this "noob" BS. The game has been out for 6 days which makes everyone a "noob".

But to the point I really wish the knife was more like 2142. I'm a big knifer just for the tag stat but I do like the ability to go to knife as a last ditch effort to stay alive. And it may be just me, but I love knifing all those aimbot and demo pack loosers(cough cough cough D5).

With BC2 its a great game but to me it just fells like its missing something.........

Okay, i'm gonna brace for impact here, here I go.

I actually do not mind the click here to knife somebody system (you may now start replying in rage).

Seeing as a LOT of the time you go to knife somebody either you stick into their body and nothing happens, while in the meantime the person you are trying to knife shoots your brains out, or your knife goes walk abouts and actually misses from point blank rage, once again leaving you exposed because you lunge and stay in one position for about a second.

I would prefer it if the knife didn't have an aimbot, and in a sense you would just knife infront of you (so if you aim it correctly you will still get a knife kill).

But in all seriousness, I really don't mind the CoD style knife, the auto-aim on it is bad, but it's not something I will lose sleep over.
