When a game DOESN'T allow me to remap keys, I take it back or just uninstall it. My MERC isn't arranged quite like a normal keyboard so the ability to change binds is very important to keep games playable for me.

While I think the game works most of the time without prone, I still would like to have it. But the Q system is really irritating, along with the FoV and latency issues. And server browser. And weapon damage...

Oh, look. Dice fixed the server browser so it can be sorted and shows ping properly. They allowed FoV adjustment. And they're raising the weapon damage somewhat.

If no one had complained about any of those features, the game would have shipped in the beta state. Keeping your mouth shut is the best way of ensuring your voice is never heard.
No one is saying that the community shouldn't be pointing out bugs and problems. However, complaining to that DICE is make BC2 too much like a console game and not their beloved BF2 is a different story entirely.

The thing we have to remember here is that there is a handful of people who are complaining about BC2 not being good enough for them and how "they made DICE who it is." Unfortunately, they're the vocal minority. They aren't the majority of people who bought BF2, so they didn't really make DICE. Most people who bought BF2 aren't so emotionally attached to it. Those people will buy the game if they like it and won't if they don't, but they won't think about whether it is exactly what they deserve after making DICE who it is by buying BF2. That's nonsensical.

What, around the time the mouse became a standard peripheral? Quake came out years before UT and you could mod and change your keybinds. You have to go back a LONG ways to find an FPS that has no options when it comes to control settings. Even DOOM had a setup menu that allowed players to change their controls.

Not a very compelling argument. The ability to change your controls is an obvious step forward. Removing features from games, not such an obvious step forward.

Honestly, I don't mind that they removed prone, aka dolphin diving. At least in the form that we saw with previous titles.
If they at a later stage decide to add it, I would welcome the prone ability to be slow. Going prone takes you 2 or 3 seconds to be ready to fire and vice versa.

I dont mind they removed prone at this title either. but WHYYYY it had to be dolphin diving :P!?!?!? It's what i keep saying, you can have prone, and dolphin diving implanted on it without the bf2 feeling xD.
Just see the example of TCGohst recon adcanced warfighter 2. It has prone and dolphin diving and actualy things dont happen like in bf2 because it was made different.

Dont take me bad. I'm not saying bfbc should have prone, im just giving arguments to the fact that a game with prone and dolphin diving is not going to be necesserely like bf2.

That was a bit hard to read, could you try to rephrase it?
Do you want dolphin diving without prone? How is that supposed to work?

First of all i want to say sorry because of my bad english.

When you say dolphin diving you are talking about he Dolphin diving animation battlefield has right???
Because there are other games with that dolphin diving animation, like ghost recon 2 and it doesnt work that way.
They can just do like bf2142(but even i think that bf2142 isnt enouth because you can still abuse it) by adding more recoil, (they should ad MUTCH more recoil) and making you not able to shoot when dolphin diving. THere are other opions like.. ading some time to dolphin dive.. some required speed.. or maybe a harder keyboard combo than just sprint and press Z.
And they should add some time of penalty, like, after dolphin diving you need to wait like 2 secs or somthing before getting back up, and getting up there should be and animation for that too wich would give it even more time.

Maybe by reading this it sound very "realisting" but believe me, if done in a very subtil way it would work and people would use it like in bf2.
Bf2 dolphin diving is just abused because of the way it is done and beause of what it does.

I'll say again: i'l not saying i want them to add prone in bfbc, i'm just trying to explain a way that dolphin diving would work without hapening like in bf2.

                    No problem :)

Here is the defintion of dolphin diving from the Urban Dictionary:
A term used to describe a maneuver in first-person shooters (specifically Call of Duty 4 and Battlefield 2) where a player jumps out of concealment or when under fire, then immediately, once on the ground, goes prone and returns fire. In the case of ambushing another player, the dolphin dive takes advantage of the speed of a running jump to surprise a player and throw off his aim and the concealment of the prone position that follows to prevent taking fire once the enemy becomes oriented. In this case, a single combatant is sometimes able to take on multiple enemies at once.
So basically DD is when you jump to prone and deliver accurate fire at once. Many thinks it looks stupid in a game like BF.

                      Hahaha. Thank you.
I dont know, maybe thats something that has been thought just about in games.
Maybe IRL because of the weight of the weapon, the falling and the fact that it will be harder to aim makes what i was saying possible.
But i dunno, never tried or seen someone doing it IRL.
