Re: Servers with 'house' rules.
I disagree that they are valid rules. C4 jeep can sometimes be the only way to take out a tank, and really you are a pretty bad tanker if you dont see one coming. Bunnyhopping is not something i would ever kick someone for, yeah it can get pretty aggravating but its just part of the game. Spawnkilling, i kick someone/members of a team if they would not cap the last flag and just made sure the other team could not get out.No C4 jeep, bunnyhop/dolphin dive, spawnkill are perfectly valid rules.
If you don't like the rules, there's no need to be a d1ck to everyone else on the server. Leave if you don't like the rules on the server. Especially if the rules are displayed on the loading screen.Comment

I guess you got me there, bunny hop noob. I have no problem killing noobs like you, but I do think it is a lame tactic. I guess I should play PR then right?Comment

Re: Servers with 'house' rules.
I meant if everyone else if following the rules, don't be an *** and break them on purpose just to spite the server rules.
That's fine if it's your server and your rules, but they are valid rules according to the RoC, and if that's the only way you can take out a tank is a jihad, that doesn't make it right.I disagree that they are valid rules. Re: Servers with 'house' rules.
What do you guys think about servers that run 'no fighting commander' and 'no soloing' and so on. For me, i cant stand it. I just want to playing the god dam game not read some crappy scrolling text that makes the gameplay bland.
Some of the best parts of bf2 were sneaking into a uncap and blowing up Uav/arty, grabbing a jet and getting away, oh wait i just got banned.
Some house rules are good because like most games, this game is loaded full of idiots, however for the most part the rules I see posted here are designed to give the folks that host the server and their friends a definite advantage over other players.
What irritates more than the stupid rules are these servers that stack teams so their members and friends can point whore and feel big because they are able to dominate the other team which is loaded with pub players that don’t even speak the same language. I guess we all need a confidence booster to feel good about ourselves no matter how phony or lame.
While most of the rules I see posted here do violate the TOS, good luck in getting EA to do anything about it. Reporting them may or may not get you any results but I wouldn't hold my breath.
On a side note who was the idiot/ idiots at EA that decided to allow ranked servers to run with FF off? Talk about your sanctioned stat padding, could it be any more obvious what’s wrong with allowing that to happen?...

Re: Servers with 'house' rules.
One time on Dragon, I used a C4 car on a tank and the guy said, "WTF??? How do you put C4 on a tank while driving???" I laughed for days.
BTW, I don't see how it's a Jihad unless you kill yourself -isn't that the idea?
I also agree that these "safe zones" (carrier, uncaps) cause far more problems than they solve. Every member of both teams should be able to be killed at any time, especially the commanders. A lot of the time I will sneak onto the carrier to steal an F35 and have to walk past the enemy commander without killing him. Total bullshÃt.Comment

Re: Servers with 'house' rules.
Oh yes, I'm a noob where did you come to that conclusion? I know you, agree to the no bunny hop dolphin dive rule, because you can't hit anyone that does that, therefore I assume that you aim is quite poor. I guess some people like easy water down, gameplay I don't. If you want to take me on in BF2 feel free to add me to your XFire. Just don't go around forums and call people noobs left and right... I doesn't make you look good...
You posted your opinion, here is mine, rules against bunny hopping/ dolphin diving, C4 ramming, claymore spamming are ridiculous you can't go around and tell people how to play the game.Comment

Re: Servers with 'house' rules.
This is a rule on our server for a valid reason. I use to let it go thinking "Damn it takes skill to do it." However, we tested it in an empty server one time. If the pilot jumps into the gunner seat, AA can NOT lock on to the chopper. It shows as an empty vehicle almost. So yes, it's a glitch/exploit what have you.Originally posted by evant3kThe only rule I agree on is no attacking uncap with jets, no force TK and flying commanders, that fine I understand.
Anything else I totaly ignore and continue to do it until I get kick/banned.
- No bunny hopping/ dolphin diving?
- No C4 buggy? No C4 on Flags clymores on flags?
- No solo TV, chaingun wtf?
- No slow flying who controls that, so i cant land my jet for repairs?
And here are the best ones
- Only clan XXX can command on this server
- If a XXX clan member is waiting for chopper helicopter you cant take that vehicle
- or do not cap refinery in Karkand its a Uncap on this server
- No t-baging?
List can go on and on stupid rules are meant to be broken.Comment

Re: Servers with 'house' rules.
How long ago did you do that little test? I did the same one around 1.12, got the same results. Try it again now, and see what happens...
Around 1.21 or so they patched that out. AA locks onto air vehicles with no one in seat 1 now. So there is no more reason for that rule. Yay! :yay:Comment

Re: Servers with 'house' rules.
I can and I do.
People who pay for the server can make any rules they desire as long it is within the ROE.
Our server promotes - One Hop Yes, Two Hops No, and if you dont like it, then dont 'Come Get Some' !
:salute:
As to the AA lock on a soloer in the gunner seat, AA disengages MOST (not every) times when a seat switch occurs in Special Forces, and quickly re-engages with a switch back. I've got almost 300 hours on Iron Gator, and people who disagree with this statement can politely go learn something.Comment

Re: Servers with 'house' rules.
Look at all your replies. There is no way to keep everyone happy so rules are put in place to provide an environment that appeals to a broader audience. You may not agree with them and that's fine, just go play somewhere else.
Secondly, most of you who replied would be considered above average players up to the level of completely annoying. You are the minority. None of the servers rules prevent you from dominating in your usual manner. At the most you will have to slightly alter your game play.
Last, do not read your opinion into the ROE. Most of it is intentionally vague on purpose. Example: limiting any players use of vehicles. what you read; anyone can use the vehicles regardless of what the admin wants. what the rule actually means; if there are vehicles it is against the ROE to say "you (meaning anyone) cannot use the chopper/jet/tank etc". As long as the vehicle can be used by a player in the game then it does not matter if the admin kicks you so he/she can have it.
This isn't meant to be an argument just pointing out some pretty basic facts and ideas.Comment

Re: Servers with 'house' rules.
Hi TGN
I agree with the NO soloing rule its a team game and the use of a attack/transport chopper for just one person is a waste IMHO, but that is a comment sure to spark a fight with solo pilots and that is not what I intend to do here.
The no fighting commander rule is ok IF by that rule they mean our commander is not to be out flying in a jet, driving vehicles, manning a tank etc, But if the rule means the commander can not defend his uncap/assets when under attack then I do not agree.
That is just my two cents folks carry on!

Re: Servers with 'house' rules.
Yes, i alter my game play on your server because, you guys don't use the rules to your advantage, and what I mean is some server admins disallow cretin things, but break their own rules themselves. In that case I do not follow the rules because it gives the server admins an unfair advantage. As long as the admin can be respected, I respect his rules, as long as they are reasonable.I can and I do.

EA didn't intend on this being a team game, reason i think that's the case is nurfing the blackhawk to the point where it is unusable as a combat tool, that took away a lot of teamwork from the game. I still remember having two engineers , two people on the miniguns , a support guy resupplying, and a medic as pilot, it was so much fun. As for solo TV I don't mind someone gunning, but if he totally sucks ,and just uses the chaingun and gives away your position, then I rather have an empty seat for me to solo with, then have a crappy gunner, that gets both of us killed..Comment
