designers don't ruin games, gamers ruin games, a game relies on the community that play it to create fun scenarios rather than use *** tactics and exploits ... besides patches are based on community feedback so it's our own damn fault lol

you should be glad they even release patches once released they are not obliged to patch it atall
they get no money from the patches so think about it and be a bit grateful yeh ?

One thing I do want to add, is that you need to take what EA says with a grain of salt. The patch will come when it comes, just be careful what you wish for because you may get it.

I say the patch comes the day before the BF3 announcement.

People thought the 1.5 update for 2142 was a hoax as well, but no it was highly serious.

And why would you be pissed off by a delayed patch - it's coming eventually and being impatient and don't waiting for DICE to test patches and stuff is what ruined this game in the first place.

There is no patch. There never was a patch.

All it was, was a DICE Live guy (new to the job), who messed up in an interview and said there was going to be an "update" - after he was pushed by the interviewer (with a horrendous Aussie accent).

Then DICE/EA went on damage control and "announced" an "update" - a patch was never mentioned. They're now hoping that a few more will stick with the game until the announcement of BF3, which should be this Fall/Winter.

It's smoke and mirrors.

I'm sure that pretty much everyone that nags about how the patch isn't out yet probably would have played the game for a really long time more even without the patch announcement.

Exactly, so why piss them off with a patch teaser? If they had announced it and then released it (wihtout major malfunctions :quivers thinking about 1.3: ) it would have gave the community a nice jolt. Instead, they tossed some fuel on a dieing fire (hatred of DICE and EA).


Please don't associate me with said fire. I have disdain for some of EA's practices, but I can also realize an entertainment value.

I'm fairly certain BF2 still has a very healthy community, I don't see why they'd feel so inclined to stop players leaving the game. Leaving for what? There still isn't any game released since BF2 that compares favourably.

I would hazard a guess that Digital Illusions have been working on prototypes for BF3 on the BF2 engine, and something is clearly good enough to implement into BF2 as a side-effect. Hopefully it's something cool :salute:

Wonder why they announced the patch, if they weren't quite done with it? Nobody knew about it, so they could have kept quiet til it was nearly done.
