Logitech Attack 3 pitch / roll problem

    Hey guys,

I am having trouble binding my pitch and roll plane controls to my joystick, the game just isn't detecting the stick at all. Throttle is not detected at all either.
My computer is showing that the stick and throttle are working perfectly though. Is there any way I can bind the controls out of game?

    Try that.

Logitech joysticks tend to come with a driver and a calibration software (though windows does it too).

    That should work.

I've tried both of them but neither seemed to work unless I am missing something with the profiler but I don't think I am.

Have you tried any other game that requires a joystick?

And when you say that your computer recognizes the joystick, how do you find that out? I am assuming you went into Control Panel -> Game Controllers to do a calibration?

        If not try that out.

I opened up game controllers in control panel and basically just a test program opened up. It allowed me to test the actual joystick movement and the throttle but BF2 is still not detecting any of it. I did not see anything about calibration.

Sorry for the double post, but can't you manually do it in the BF2 folder in my documents?

yes, you can bind them in the game config file.

the config file is located in /my documents/Battlefield2/Profiles/0001/controls.con

If you have multiple logins, they will be 0001,0002,0003, etc. so you'll have to find which one corresponds to which nick.

now open up control.con in notepad and look for ControlMap.create AirPlayerInputControlMap, and also heli.

here is my config. the axis ones should be correct. the button / trigger ones might be different depending on the joystick. you'll have to go into windows control panel > game controllers and see which button press lights up which number and edit accordingly.
              ControlMap.addAxisToAxisMapping c_PIYaw IDFGameController_0 IDAxis_3 0 1
              ControlMap.addAxisToAxisMapping c_PIPitch IDFGameController_0 IDAxis_1 1 1
              ControlMap.addAxisToAxisMapping c_PIRoll IDFGameController_0 IDAxis_0 0 1

                C:/Documents/Battlefield 2/Profiles

                There should be a Controls.con

Worse come to worse, you can use this:

electracode.com is your first and best source for all of the information you’re looking for. From general topics to more of what you would expect to find here, electracode.com has it all. We hope you find what you are searching for!

It's a keyboard emulator for a joystick, it basically allows your joystick to act as certain buttons on a keyboard. I am not sure if you can map the throttle, but it's worth a shot.
