BF3? seriously? all indications are is that its cancelled, Peter Moores blog, BF:H( EA trying to increase PC user base with games that can run on ancient PC's ), NO news/leaked info( i wouldnt consider that 'info' last november anything concrete, not to mention we've all got info on new BF releases 6+ months prior to release )

If you want the latest BF games get yourself a console, thats the way shes going boys, high console sales vs's relatively crap PC sales et all, even Bad Company PC was canceled lol

DICE has said that they're working on multiple projects:

BFBC
BFH
Mirror's Edge
+ "secret" project

Now what could that last thing be? It would be really stupid to not make a BF3 considering the BF series this far has been one of the most popular game series of all time.

Also I don't think they want to rush it too much so they'll keep quiet until they know for sure they're going to release it

BF2 will prob last another 2 years with sources that EA will indeed terminate the "Stats" Servers. BF3 will be worthless if they go that direction with the server controls....also mentioned was EA wanting to keep games playable on computer systems older than 3 years which is pretty stupid to try to maintain those users that refuse to upgrade to play another game. Crysis pushed people to upgrade to play it and you have the majority of FPS players refusing to get off the Pent4's,6600GT's and 512ram to play that great MP/SP game.

I fear that Warhammer will take more players from the FPS field along with the next gen WoW game and push more into pay-to-play style gaming which will kill gaming for me period.

I even wouldn't mind a pay-to-play Battlefield as long as it can keep me playing it and enjoying it every month even more due to more content like maps with new factions/weapons/vehicles. Nevertheless I wouldn't pay as much as for a MMORPG for it, because the coming ones won't be as deep as a rpg, at least for me.
But a small amount for monthly content would be something I'll be pleased for.

As long as there are people like myself wanting to play BF2 it will survive a long time!!! As far as the BF3 hype for 2008, it is not even on the release list for Q4 so it will not be out this year...oh well no big loss...lol

Keep playing BF2!!!! (if we could get rid of the hackers and padders it would still be a great game!!!!)

Seriously, those servers are design flawed for stats padding, especially when FF is off. Nothing but nade spaming, ammo chunking, and medic zapping going on.

BF2 will be around until someone releases a new FPS that is able to provide players what this game has, and based on the FPS games released in 2007 that may still be always off.

The truth of the matter is, that despite its flaws BF2 has spoiled gamers not to mention it pretty much set the bar for FPS games that has not been matched since...

Pay-to-Play is NOT a good idea... I don't know why anyone would think it is. Any server provider including MyIS would agree since it would pretty much put them out of business along with content providers,custom maps made by community players. A perfect example is WoW and how Blizzard pretty much does what they want with over used and laggy servers.

BF2 needs new content... they have already announced new content and support for bf2142 with the 1.50 patch but WTF EA!!! Why not support the game with the most players...even if you have advertising in it as Highway to hell did thats fine..at least its something new for Official play. If they would do away with the stats servers you might even see more players fooling around with Mods and custom maps again.

BF3 is coming out, and most of those things stated on the leaked .PDF are true as well. Just wait and see...
