G36E vs L85A1

Just played a round with the L85 and much preferred it over the G36E, its more accurate over range, easier to control bursts and just imo a better gun.

I managed to get 188 score in the round thanks mainly to that gun and i had recently been having problems with the G36E so im going to stick with it for a while.

The reason you see a lot of G36E users only kill one or two guys before dying has next to nothing to do with the weapon. The reason is that most of those players are horrible and require the G36E to get any kills. Give them an M16 and they're as useless as teats on a boar. Most of the people that I've seen use the L85 religiously, however, are very good players, so they can rack up the streaks with the weapon. Overall the G36E is by far the better weapon, so just be thankful that the people using the L85 don't switch over to the G36E and instantly double their effectiveness.

Spoken for truth. I agree 100%. I play (along with other skilled players) with other guns because of the challenge.

I'm not trying to toot our horns but using the G36e requires far less skill from any other gun because of its accuracy.

I dont know who you play with, but place a g36e in my hands and my score doubles and kdr doubles.

I rarely play with the medic kit anymore.

I think its a matter of which you get along with. I can't seem to get those mid-range kills with the L85, its great at close-range, and sometimes surprises me at long-range. Overall, I think its very inconsistant. I don't get along well with AK's, and so, when on the MEC side, usually choose the G36E. But on the USMC side, I get along very well with the M16. So, the M16 is my gun of choice, and if I could, I would choose it always, no matter what side I'm on. I prefer the G36E over the L85, because the accuracy is consistant, and the burst is like the M16.

p.s. ...anyone ever get 5 kills out of one clip, with an L85? (and not get accused of hacking) ...thats a little more luck than I'm used to.

I rarely play medic, but when I do I prefer the L85A1. It has a scope so you can use it as a kind of SVD on full auto, and also has good firepower. I don't like the G36E because to use it it is necessary to become a prone spammer and to get headshots all the time since it has so little damage. Sure it might be better at long range shots, but at that range, you shouldn't be using a medic's gun.

L85a1 is much more accurate and 3 shots for a kill. Skilled players aim for the head and on full auto it is less accurate thus not so good. I think this gun is better for very long range, so not Karkand, maybe wake or something.

The g36e is the m16 with less bullet deviation and faster rate of fire. However m16 rocks not sure which is best.

The reason why g36e rules is because its rate of fire is so good, so when two people go prone it usually wins because bullets are fired quicker. On a high skilled game where two people dont go prone and exchange shots but actually move to avoid fire and aim at head, then this gun is less effective.

So in all fairness on karkands close range at high level, neither unlock is superior to unlock weapons you just gota move away from bad habbits of instantly prone.

Why do so many people say the L85 is more accurate? It might LOOK more accurate because of the scope, but the deviation is higher, so it's LESS accurate.

So, the L85A1 is less accurate, has a slower rate of fire, more recoil, but does enough damage to kill with one headshot and zooms a little more.
The G36E is more accurate, shoots faster, reloads more quickly, less recoil, has burst mode, but doesn't zoom in as much, takes more shots to kill, and takes longer to draw from another weapon.

They're different, I can't say one is really all-around better than the other. Each one has it's bailiwick where it does best.

There both good guns. I admit that the L8 is a diffrent gun to get used to the crosshairs I hate but I can use the gun and do well on it if I am in a server using medic. The G36E is a good gun for longer range shot since the crosshairs are awsome but if I had to choose between the 2 I would say G36E, but I dont play med alot only have around 30 hours on the kit

I'm only putting out what the numbers say. L85A1 has a higher zoom so it's easier to shoot at someone far away. It also has a higher deviation, so it's less likely to actually hit what you're aiming for.
With the L85A1 luck is more of a factor in hitting things at a distance than it is using the G36E.

i hadn't played medic for months until today. (saw i needed the SF vet badge) and i went for the L85. i was having some awesome rounds. in just about every encounter with the G36 i came out alive
pulled off a fair few headshots too, causing alot of people to moan and whinge.
from my overall experience with the two, i tend to do better with the L85.
but as the US i normally opt for the M16 to be fair, just depends if i feel like trying something else for a change.
