Whether anyone agrees with a server's rules is actually a moot point. If you don't agree with them, don't play on them. It's as simple as that.
Except for knife/pistol servers. It's always fun to mow down knifers with your Ganz and a few grenades.

Wow.... I just read this thread. No wonder Fingulfin has been giving Skates hell about jihad jeeps. That has to be the weakest ban I have ever seen. That's almost as bad as a bunny hopping ban. Lemme see if I understand the details of this.

If what Field says is right, it was 8 v 8. Pac stood no chance of breaking out past that walker, especially with all of the ground infantry chewing up any engie that would try to approach, and the fact that he was sitting by a box. So Skates does what needed to be done to clear the walker out "which is exactly what I would have done" and gets banned for it because he spoiled some admins 30 kill streak.

This isn't an attack on anyone in particular, but servers that limit which weapons, vehicles, commander assets, etc... you can use are weak in my opinion. If you can't adapt and overcome the opposition without putting limits on what they can do you need to get some more practice.

I find that server admins enforce the rules only when they don't directly benefit from there being broken. I'd bet my left nut, that if the admin that banned Field for jihading the walker would have been on PAC getting crushed by it, he wouldn't have said jack, but because HE was the one in the walker, then "By god I'll teach him not to kill me in a server I have admin on!"

Before it's pointed out again, I know that I am free to play else where "and will" but I feel the overwhelming need to point out hypocrisy whenever I encounter it. After all duty calls.

anywho i am all for jihad jeeping on 2142. If someone is mowing down your team and bleeding tickets then he needs to be sorted out before anything.

yeah people moan saying get skill to take it out but sometimes any way is better then no way in the scenario mentioned above. its not a cheat, its not a hack, not a macro or statpadding so whats the big deal.

Well recently we added the rule no jihad jeeps to our Monkey Gamer Squadplay server. On MG we try to get the players on our server to join squads and play as a team. A MG squad can take out a walker in a matter of moments with emp and engi and we want the players on our server to do this aswell. Jihadding is a act of a single man not a team.

Perhaps you should get your facts straight. PAC had broken out and that was well into the round when he did that. In fact, at points in that round PAC even held Ruins and EU. When he died, he chose to spawn at the Uncap and came in as an engi to take out the walker and failed so he rdx rammed him. You should really pull your head out before you start running your mouth about things. If you have spent any amount of time on our servers, you would see that my admins will kick/ban someone from their own team just as often as someone from the other team for breaking the rules. Amazing that you would come up to back Field on that one. Too bad he chose to try and flame us here on public forums. If he would have just apologized for breaking our server rules and asked for his ban to be lifted, it would have been. (If you don't believe me check out our Complaints forum on our website and you'll see the majority of bans that are appealed get lifted.) Instead he came here with a line of crap and now all he has to say is:

And yes, I said that about servers and you obviously must not have read this whole thread or you would have seen that Field already tried to make that argument. You know, or should know, that we were talking about limiting the use, as in you can't use, certain vehicles or weapons. We allow all weapons and vehicles to be use in our servers so nice try. Just because we don't let you strap rdx on a fav and go run into something, or take your transport and ram that walker/tank/apc on the ground, doesn't fit what you are trying to say.

Funny, every time you guys try to flame my servers, I just see more names from here show up and play them. And wouldn't you know, they keep coming back because they are well admined, taking care of the smacktards that think they should be able to do whatever they want. There is usually good squadplay on them, and they are a lot of fun. So, keep trying to flame my servers, I can always use the publicity.

skates, dont fool yourself, people do not go on servers because "they are well admined" administrators are not helpful in doing...anything to improve the quality of a server. By saying they are watched by admins you simply mean that the servers are more noob friendly. but you ARE meeting your goal of having more numbers go on your servers and if that is important to you..all the better.

I guess having the top teams from the TWL ladders frequent our servers makes them "noob firendly." It is pretty easy playing against the Wildeside, mace, hlc2, L13, NxS, etc... guys.

I avoid servers with no admins, not when there are so many hackers around. I also tend to like the no spawn camping rule on G, so yeah, i do go on servers because they are well admined.

This is one thing that really bugs me are these people that i will meet sometimes that are absolutely CONVINCED that i am hacking because i kill them fast (sorry i know im kind of bragging but its on my mind), its just the masses of ignorant so-so players that cry out witchcraft and sorcery when they get destroyed a few times and these admins that hold them in thier arms going "there there, its ok nubscrub" and then they smash the supposed witch with a ban hammer. Caus this has actually happened to me a few times peopel thought i was haxing and then i get banned from a server. I have not had many good experiences with admins.
