    Who said anything about "realistic"?

And while it isnt as realistic as the old games, it plays out very realistically.

And as a proud Martytard, I can tell you right now that I get a lot of kills not on the person who just killed me but his unsuspecting teammate rounding the corner. There are many high traffic routes on most maps where you can get kills that way time and time again. Now that's luck and has nothing to do with my skill level.

Well the more realistic the more you have to use RL tactics, that's the point I was trying to make.

It may be good but that's it, the older ones were great, because they were almost a FPS sub-genre.

Oh well, I'm done ranting. Not that it will bring back R6 to its roots

As a matter of fact, its often not the realism, that makes you use cover. Its the availability of cover, the functionality of cover (how well can you shoot back from cover), skill of adversaries and the risk of getting killed. R6V is the only game that nails 10/10 in all of these categories, others tend to lack here and there.

Point is, the game plays out pretty much the same way how youd imagine an engagement. I havent served in armed forces, but from the countless of airsoft scrims, I cant help but appreciate how "life-like" the firefights are in R6V.

It's personal opinion I guess, it felt a lot more human, belieavable and tactical playing old R6 series then it was playing the demo of Vegas.

But, the most realistic shooter in my book has got to be Operation Flashpoint.

Back to the main topic... because I was away for the weekend and didn't get to contribute.

But... I totally agree with this being CS on crack.. except 300x easier. With the addition of ironsights... All the bullets go exactly where you want them to. even when you spray, all the bullets go into your little crosshair... (not above, to the right, etc.)

I think you guys said something about twitch skills... or something. Its called good aim.

Couple that with some intelligence, and whamo, you've got yourself a really good COD4 player.

Would love to play with you guys, we should start a TCOD4 Clan. :P

Haven`t played R6V but the last one I did play was Lockdown and that one was, for a R6 game, straight sh!t. LD is a good example how to do a 360 with a game series. Didn`t wanna try R6V after that, but seeing how Chris thinks it`s good, I might give it a try someday.

R6V was, and still is awesome.

Never played it much... but a great game none the less.

CoD4 is a very technical shooter, much more so than BF2. When I say technical, I mean in terms of mouse and keyboard technique. If you can properly control a mouse at 2000DPI, you will perform miles better than someone dialed down because its more controllable.

Dont get your hopes up. Its kind of a mixture between realistic old R6 and the new arkadeish approach. I think its one of the greatest games ever made, however its multiplayer part is so buggy and so fvcked up, that the boatload of ex SWAT4 and R6 competitive players ditched it in a matter of days. Its so half assed (crashes every 5 minutes, horrible server list and so on), that its just... painful. However, the single player is absolutely awesome.

I refuse to enjoy any SP game with coop AI unless they are at least half as good as the ones in R6V. They are literally fun. They dont make those stupid decisions, unless you tell them to go against 40 guys and get killed. You can lterally rely on them. Id say try the game out even for the single player, its definitely worth it.

Yup. Its technical in a whole different aspect. What goes on in your head and hand, and what goes on in your oppositions head and hand.

Yeah, too bad Rainbow Six Vegas multiplayer did not catch on with the PC version. I admit, the server browser for the game was pretty bad. I heard it's still going strong on the 360 though.

Youre saying this as if its good news. Im coming from the SWAT4 community, which is mostly populated by the older Rainbow Six games players. Rogue Spear, Raven Shield. Since year 2005, there has been no game to replace or renew the tactical close quarters combat FPS genre. Were stuck with a game that came out in the early 2005, had only one patch, no anticheat and rumour says, wont have a sequel. In the same time, the game that was supposed to drive the community forward, was a complete overhaul of the idea of tactical CQB/CQC, into a console arcade port. Twice.

Imagine those people, who really dig a specific genre, having to move to COD4 because theres simply no alternative.

And R6V2 would be the continuation of the raping Ubisuck does on an entire community. Im talking about millions of heavy duty SWAT/R6 players. I certainly feel "homeless".

So nah, too bad, but looking towards R6V2 is like looking towards visiting a dentist, who happens to be a 70 year old sadistic hag.

I found Vegas to be really fun. SP was great, and so was MP. Yet, there is still a small community for it for PC. Yet, for 360 it's #3 on Xbox Live.

Vegas 2, IMO going to bring the PC back to life, they say Map/Mod tools will come with Vegas 2, better servers, PB, and more.

BTW, this is COD4, back to COD4.
