Well Well Well kids look and learn. Cod 4 skill yes its there but not in the way most of you guys see it. The game itself is easy i mean come on. Its not hard to aim the guns or anything. Its how u go about beating good players where skill comes in. It all about anticipation. Know what the other guy is going to do before he does it. Not luck skill. You have to know how to use what u got to get an advantage. Sounds, Grenades, Bullets. Can be used in many ways to give u the upper hand. O and thos perks. They really change it up a lot. First off its not a bad idea to shoot your gun at nothing to make a red dot on the radar for the other team then move to another spot where you have a good view point of where u were. So when someone comes to kill where they think you are you can surprise them with a knife or a grenade. Cod 4 takes skill. Just not in way most other shooters do.

i agree, i continually see people who can dominate a server, but sometimes i can be the one to dominate, i guess, people who are new to the game just pick the wrong servers sometimes, after 1.4 path everyone snipes, for eg on bloc last night the entire enemy team was sniping,

aerialz u remeber when sniping required some skill? that was fun, me and u on crossfire, just owning the crap outa anyone who camed into veiw.

I keep hearing all this talk about being tactical. From my point of view being a newb and all, I really am not seeing any tactics in this game.

Example: I was in the army for about ten years. In the army the tactics that we were taught and our brains imprinted with was "cover". In a firefight seek cover and hold your position. Never stay out in the open. Stay close to walls and buildings. Stay low and keep your head down. etc. etc.

In the game however, if you were to use any real tactics. You are instantly labeled a newb/noob and called a camper. "Your camping doorways and corners." I'm sorry but those are actual military tactics. Never once did I hear my platoon leader tell me I was camping or dolphin diving. In a firefight you will never see a marine standing upright like Rambo. As soon as he is fired upon I can assure you he is hitting the deck.

Another thing that bothers me is all the criticisms with peoples choice in weapons. If it's in the game they have every right to use it. Period. I used to carry a 203 in the army. I had to qualify on it just like everyone had to with their M16. So I'm kind of partial to the 203, I liked it in the military and I like it in the game. I guess it helps that I actually know how to use it.

I can't even remember the last time I ended up worse than 1:1 2:1 is the average, at times way more than that.
There's obviously a lot of noobs around, not a surprise as good games attract a lot of new players.

Sometimes I'd rather play 5 vs 15 instead of having 10 more noobs on my team though. What I hate most is when they all follow you, draw the enemies' attention and block your way out. There's nothing worse than controlling a point of the map and then seeing all the green arrows on the radar coming towards you...

Other than that I really can't complain, although I'm looking forward to when the game will become more challenging, because that means I'll get a decent team :p

Only a few games make you utilise real life tactics. One of the very few that I can name off the bat, would be R6V in hard mode. It quite literally turns into a "cover to cover" shooter, and amusingly, has influenced my airsoft games a lot.

You want a skill based game in both SP and MP, go play Crysis... cause COD4 just doesn't require it. I sometimes feel like I'm watching guys run around that appear to have carrots up their butts constantly running into every object that IW put into the game.

Sava, I disagree with you. Go play against m3ow, and he'll show you skill.

I was playing on the cc// server with him, and was doing well (before he joined) against the other cc// members. Then, the next round, it was me and him vs. the other team (well, him vs. the other team) and the server emptied.

To be quite honest, I empty a lot of servers. Either people leave or call me names like (HACKER F@GOT)..

Want skill? Play in our server tonight, I'll show you whats what, and thats a promise. Anybody, and I aint bragging. I'am serous, sometimes I think I should go find another game because I'm always #1 on the scoreboard.

                  EDIT FOR Sava:
Then explain why, 5150 and Nexus Pro teams win $,$$$ from COD4, always #1 on CEVO. Have over 5 sponsors..

Yea, if I was you. I would go back to your little server and not talk smack here anymore.

True, I am the sucky player, I never used to play good on most FPS's, but now.. I have a 3:1 KD overall. Which is a .WOOOOOOOOW OMG for me.

                    It is an easy game.

Yes we all know Crysis rulez and COD4 phails.
Just GTFO. I am tired of hearing you bitching and whining about COD4. Just leave then. And do yourself a favour and make Crysis servers so you can play by yourself. I usually respect people of older age, but this is the limit.

                      Amen Vika.

I was talking to m3ow about it... interesting convo.

I don't even have a 2:1 overall k:d, yet I go 3:1-4:1 on average in games. I musta really sucked when I started lol.

Haven`t seen any name calling n that sh!t yet, even when some have gone 150-15. Maybe it`s an american thing when it comes to CoD.
I need to play this game some more. Can`t get into the zone like I did in my all time favorite game, AA. Still mess up in the stupidest parts and do the stupidest sh!t.

I've noticed this too, where everyone seems really bad at playing. I was playing with my friend, who had just got it the day before (as had I), and he said, "I'm warning you, I'm good", and I slaughtered him, killing him 12 times and he killing me 3. I guess it's just because I have experience with FPS games.

That's not entirely true. On servers that have killcam or where I can spectate freely, I often see people randomly chucking nades as soon as they spawn. On maps that are small like Wetwork or Shipment, it is incredibly easy to get two "free" kills that way. Hell, I do it all the time. And as a proud Martytard, I can tell you right now that I get a lot of kills not on the person who just killed me but his unsuspecting teammate rounding the corner. There are many high traffic routes on most maps where you can get kills that way time and time again. Now that's luck and has nothing to do with my skill level.

They get those kills because they know someone is bound to be there and whose fault is that.
When it comes to Shipment, then that map is a bit of a clusterfcuk when theres more than 10 players.

Actually it's the older R6 series that were realistic.. I never bothered with the new cross-platform stuff, it ruined the series.
