Your BestBuy/GameStop example is laughable. Don't make explain it to you...
how so? plese tell me how its bad, it makes 100% logical sence you might just not understand it il brake it down. One store sells ONLY GAMES gamestop (cod 4 is ONLY a shooter). While the other store best buy sells all electronics (bf2 has EVERYTHING you could think of) What one will be better as a shooter?

And again with the hit detection bf2 has 5 other hit detections to regester, Tank shells, Hummer gun turrents, Jet missles and gatling gun, chopper tv missles and gatling gun. Bf2 has 5x more work on hit detections then cod 4 has its pure logic if someone is good at one thing mainly it will be amazing at it but if soemthing is doing 5 different things it will be less good at each one but it will be better at more things.

Hit detection is hit detection, you can not say that it is ok to have poor hit detection because they have more weapons. Hit detection is at the very core of a FPS game.
In BF2142 I have several times seen shotgun blasts to the face go undetected. Its a common complaint about the game and it simply should not happen.

Besides I seriously doubt that the game treats those as separate items with regard to hit detection. Why not add Gunship rockets, coaxial machine guns, artillery etc. to the list?

COD4 has more different hand-held weapons at play in each map, does that mean that it has more work to do?
No, because the calculations are the same regardless of the weapon, it is just the parameters that vary.

each gun has its own sound and its own fireing rate its own animation that all effects the frames and the lancity and the lag of the game and sure add all of of thoese arty and everything else now how much of that does cod 4 have? arty and a chopper flying over. bf2 maps are i can fairly say 100x bigger thats more texture renders and everything that has to do with bandwidth and that all effects game play DRASTICLY. The hit detection is effected by animaton and bandwidth also if you did not know.

BF maps are bigger, but COD4 maps are much more detailed. They are not directly comparable.
Besides BF does not draw the complete map, but only that within a certain radius of your player.

Hit detection is the most important aspect of a FPS, if they cant handle that then they should scale down the rest of the game until the can.

That one store exclusively sells game is no guarantee that it will have priority shipment over any title. If anything, distributors tend to honor contracts and favor large volume purchases by big-name stores. You speak of logic, but fail to employ it yourself.

Actually he's more on the "correct" side of the scale.

If you think about it, a game on the scale of BF2 is insane from the ground up. The thing is, however, they actually took an already 10 year old engine and modified it to match up with 2005's graphics and simulate a large scale battle with all sorts. It shows because of the sheer number of things they left out physics-wise (couldn't even implement Newton's laws right) but BF2 is a piece of work.

On the other hand, COD4 is built from the ground up, with more technology at their hands - it having better hit detection is inevitable. In BF2, hit detection isn't bad providing you stay some 300m above everyone else, play PR, or learn to aim very, very good.

Nobody forced them to recycle an old engine in order to design and produce BF2. That's not a valid argument in support of forgiving their poor registration/netcode. And all of this after several patches...

                  It's inexcusable.

The store only sells games so it gets its whole revenue from games it needs to have games or it will go bankrupt, their main priority is to have games and sell them. If not they will not survuve they have a higher chance of having the game over multycore stores. like humans main priotiry is food and water if we dont have it we will die. They need games or as a corporation they die.

First thing what takes up more size or quality? both take up the same but look bf2 maps if u run on high settings it looks just about the same as cod4, cod4 has more renders in a small ammount of space( bushes, tree's etc) but bf2 has the same ammount spaced over if not 10x more bf2 also has water and if you know anything about vidoe graphics water is one of that hardest things to reproduce on a large scale and you go to wake island and tell me there is a small ammount water there. in quality bf2 totaly eats apart cod4 in SHEER MAP SIZE and quality if you run high settings. also 2 and a half years is alot bf2 was made in 2005 while cod 4 late 2007. Do not make me list what has happend in the last 2 years il state a few things. Multy core systems (duo and now quad core), DDR3 .

Hit detection is the main factor i agree, in bf2 if your not aiming good and using your iron sights then your not going to hit anything. In cod4 the hit detection is just to strong you can be acorss the map put ur crosshairs and hold down the trigger and the player will be killed even when your not dircetly aiming at him. My main argument was cod4 the guns spray to much and in bf2 you need to be on target to much. In cod 4 the hit detection is so good that you do not need to even sue iron sights you just put crosshairs on a target and shoot. Now you try this tactic in real life and you will see you will miss EVERY single bullet you fire. the gun is useless without iron sights but on cod 4 its the same.

Yeah, camping is a valid tactic, until you have a horribly stacked team lobbing nades and 203 shells into the cabin. I dont think you have used your imagination to its full extent. I can see statpadding (legal statpadding that is) on newbies and a ruined game for an entire team.

Last time we had this conversation, and Sloi brought up the "hardcore mode" argument, you said you havent played the game "that much". Your general lack of arguments regarding COD4 online play pretty much proves how little your experience is with the game. Dare I say, youve only played the SP Demo.

Field dressing doesnt fit into COD4 for the following reasons-
*COD4 is a much faster game, and in a much smaller scale, thus theres no room nor time for extra functions like patching yourself up. Those are useless and distract from the pace that COD4 plays by. If one wants realistic field dressing, hes obviously talking about a wrong game.
*If you want field dressings just for realisms sake, then you should know that it would take minutes and minutes to apply a proper cover to the wound and stop the bleeding. So why ask for realism if it wont be implemented anyway?

You could just have a field dressing with you like in PR
I dont think you understand how retarded that sounds, if we compare the pace and firefight dynamics in both games. Then again, since you havent played one of the games, you lack the necessary insight.

Medic system is FAR more realistic than magically healing yourself
Medic system currently implemented in various games? Dont kid yourself. Its as unrealistic as magical selfhealing. Go work in a hospital for a day, once you see gunshot wounds, and how they are treated, youll shut up and start thinking straight.

In order for a game to be fun, it doesnt need realism, it needs all of its parts to work in a synergy to offer the most fun.

Yeah coz irl a soldier can magically heal himself in 7-8 seconds, get shot, heal himself again, get shot again, heal himself again and continue to do so,
How is that any different from the fact that you cannot patch up a busted artery, or brains or whatever there can be? "more realistic"? Please. If I shoot you in the leg, and hit the artery, youre dead. Now point me towards any "realistic game" that does that?

Since the models move somewhat slower, and the weapons do more damage, one can speculate that that is the reason why theres better hit detection.

Not really both are stupid, mostly healing after getting shot within 5 seconds is just totaly ilogical
Illogical or unrealistic? Because all games are unrealistic if we start focusing on their flaws, and "illogical" is a pretty strong word for a completely misunderstood concept. Think about it.

have been used in real life not tossed on the round and absorbed but puting a morphene shot and stopping the bleededing is what they used to do in wars then a soldier could fight so they where on the right path but dident do it.
LOL. Im sorry. I shoot you in the knee and lets see what you can do with morphene and field patches. You wont be running ever again.

It's a perfectly valid argument as to why they have problems with poor hit registration.

In fact, the registration is not bad at all if you play PR which simply means it's cone of fire at work. BF2 also suffers the worst out of every game I have played from an increase in ping. The difference between 12ms and 60ms is insane.

He's talking without having any actual experience with the game. If he's using the Steady Aim perk, he might get lucky a few times depending on the distance.
