Yea, the number of "this weapon/perk should be nerfed" threads on here is insane. If IW did what all these threads ask for we'd be running around with peashooters!
Nerfing ruined BF2, lets not ruin what is an excellent game at the moment.

the P90 is a PDW that means it's a submachine gun mixed with a assault rifle.

it's round are small yes but are just as lethal as a rifle bullet so yeah the thing will own at CQC because it's really a submachine gun that fire rifle like rounds.

It actually has a larger caliber than an M4, G36, M249 etc... although the round isn't as long (5.7x28mm as opposed to the 5.56x45mm).

I love the shottie for CQC more than any other. Sometimes, you need move a lot of metal really fast. That's when the P90 excels!

PDW means personal defense weapon. This does not mean it's an SMG/assault rifle hybrid. A PDW is a weapon with longer range and penetration power then traditional a pistol and and traditional SMG, but they are still classified in line with SMG's.

Assault rifle cartridges still transfer more energy to the target, increasing lethality. They have much more powder in the cartridge.

I just checked some ballistic charts and it looks like the 5.7x28mm round has roughly the same stopping power at it's muzzle as a 5.56x45mm at past 500 yards.

                So, a 5.7x28 shooting a FMJBT @ 55gr. = 1,000 ft/s muzzle velocity and 120 ft*lbj muzzle energy.

                While a 5.56x45mm shooting a FMJBT @ 55gr. = 3,240 ft/s muzzle velocity and 1,280 ft*lbj muzzle energy.

Now depending on your load and round type you could screw around with these things, but the fact still is, 5.56x45mm > 5.7x28mm.

The P90 has the edge over other SMGs in the way you can take 2 enemies without having to reload, I stopped counting the amount of double kills I've gotten with it thanks to the clip size.

Sure, you can down a lot more enemies with an MG before having to reload, but you can't dart around the map with it.

Yup, never said it wouldn't, hence referring to the cartridge length.
You won't get the "third level of lethality" with it's lower mussel velocity. At about 2,700fps and above a 5.56mm round will literally explode when it hits something harder than air. The spin and velocity suddenly being turned into another form of energy transfer is more than the structure of the round can bear and it fragments into tiny pieces that rip in all directions creating huge wound channels, like shooting someone with a shotgun. But this also means however, that if you fire a P90 through a door or thin wall etc.. at close range it's gonna do a lot more damage than an M4 because the bullet won't be fragmenting (yet another CQB advantage for the P90!). Now if they implemented that in the game think of the number of "OMFG How unrealistic is this" threads that would start appearing here!

It all depends on the bullet grain. I assure you, a 5.56x45 intended with harder targets in mind will not "literally explode." With that in mind, the 5.56x45 has never been great with penetration. Solid core grades that I've shot still weren't too great. I've shot AK-47's and M16A3's all in the same day on the same range at the same cinder blocks, and the 7.62x39 would crack them in half nearly. The 5.56 would leave a crater and crumple/fragment. The 5.56's ballistics against soft targets though are great... I've seen the round's ballistics through gel... the wounding it causes from bullet yaw are horrendous -- I could imagine severed arteries, organ failure, etc. Still, that depends on match grade.

Nothing changes the fact that the 5.7x23 is not meant for longer ranges and still transfers less energy at a lower muzzle velocity at all viable ranges. However, the P90's not a battle rifle, not an assault rifle. It's a glorified SMG. Now, I've never shot one, but I could figure that it's not going to be as accurate as an AR-15 type at any range. The 5.56x45 in an AR-15 is a freakin' laser.

That's why most SWAT teams use it. Practically no kick even without a front grip. Easy on the shoulders. I loved it, until I saw in AK in the range, just couldn't resist.

I like AK's as well. Someone told me the whole "drag it through mud, sand, water, etc., and it will still shoot" story once, and I actually asked him to let me prove it by taking his AK-47 (I do not own one) and dragging it through sand (soil, actually), mud, and I even dipped it in motor oil. It still shot. I was pretty amazed, it's a rugged gun.

However, in a combat situation, I'd still take an AR-15 build. First off, I'm a whole lot more familiar with them, and if you do what you're supposed to do and maintain it daily, it will not malfunction. Second off, I'm a pretty decent shot, but I still can't hit sh*t with any Kalashnikov past 150 yards. At 150 with my AR-15 build, my five shot group is all tight, within the lethal zone.

Also, I want to shoot a G36 model. They look so sexy. I like the integrated scope/reflex sight combo on the long models too.

                            Back to the ingame P90...

I ran around in a pub today with it, in a TDM, with 30+ people, because I just unlocked it.

I came out on top five rounds in a row, upgraded the gun fully, and got 100+ kills in two rounds. Lmao, I'll never use it again...

Why wouldn't you use a gun that you're good with?

Why cripple yourself with a weapon that you won't do so well with?

                              Sounds bloody stupid to me.

I was referring to a standard NATO ball round. It's all i get issued with, so its all i'd know much about!.... well, except the tracer round, its the same just is has some phosphorous on the back.
