I've written about that in the past. Lemme see if I can dig up the post...

This is erroneous.
Two-man helicopter teams do not necessarily (or often, as it goes) succeed against a soloer. There are several possibilities, and I'll describe most of them since I'm completely bored...
Two-man team composed of a skilled pilot and poor gunner vs. A poor soloer: the former may have an advantage, depending on how the soloer is poor (a difference must be made between his being poor as a result of improper pilotting or gunning). In the latter case, it's likely the two-man team will win. Otherwise, it could either be a toss-up or an inevitable win by the former as a result of proper range-game playing by the skilled pilot.
Two-man team composed of a skilled pilot and poor gunner vs. A skilled soloer: while this could go both ways, the former is actually at a disadvantage. Sooner or later, the soloer will find an opening to approach the two-man team's heli and the skilled pilot's dodging ability, if applicable in that particular case, will determine whether or not they get a chance to retaliate.
Two-man team composed of a poor pilot and skilled gunner vs. A poor soloer: I suspect the two-man team would have a much higher chance of success by virtue of the gunner having an easy target. Of course, this assumes the poor pilot actually acknowledges the soloer and gives his gunner a chance to fire.
Two-man team composed of a poor pilot and skilled gunner vs. A skilled soloer: the soloer will win almost every single time. No contest...

Two-man team composed of a skilled pilot and skilled gunner vs. A skilled soloer: a toss-up. It depends on who indentifies the enemy first. Otherwise, range-games will determine the victor, as a skilled soloer won't be easily baited into a precarious position. I should know, I see examples of this in the Raging Angels (R|A) server daily.
So there you have it... as you can see, it's not as simple as your stupid generalization suggests.Comment

4 eyes are better than 2 and 2 minds are better than 1 and 1 guy will be beaten by 2 guys so the 2 guys with 4 eyes and 2 minds wins over the 1 guy with 2 eyes and 1 mind.:salute:Comment

I'm going with the "mix-it-up" theory. I'll take whatever advantage I can gain, and far from too good to not use ALL tactics available.
I do have one question though ...where do you guys go to find helo rankings? I have a couple favorite stats sites, but neither breakdown helo rankings. I'd kinda like to know where I sit compared to the rest of the world ...just curious.Comment

Lately I have been having a blast trying to ensure that the gunner gets as much of the kills as possible. When I play like that, unselfish, it pays off in team wins and returning squad members. It is a powerful message of teamwork that players thrive on!Comment

Too bad that only works in fantasyland. More often than not, the random gunners I pick up don't even understand the concept of spotting and moving the TV missile in mid-air: expecting them to hit something would be pretty darn stupid. :-)
I'd rather take my chances alone.Comment
