If what happens is the black BF1942 screen shows up, then it just goes back to desktop, there's only one thing you can do: You have to reinstall all of FH and its addons.

Read this thread on the FH forums...

        http://forums.filefront.com/fh-off-t...ctive-fh1.html

All of these people still play FH1 online. There are hundreds of people, maybe even thousands who bought BF2 soley for FH2, and have thus not installed BF2 yet. There are always at least 5 well run, populated servers up for FH1.
Look dude - I know about FH. I've followed them more than I can explain. I know their successes in BF1942 better than many (I was there).

You can talk about how much they've added until your mouth fell off and I would just sit there and agree with you. The FH team has done NOTHING BUT extremely good work. They did back in the day and they still are.

My concern is the release schedule. Nothing more. Don't sit there and post about how much is in the mod and how awesome it will be; because I know it will be awesome. The timing; however, isn't that great.

The question of how awesome the BF2 version of FH will be isn't actually the question anymore. Very few people are listening.

        The big question is:

As a studio - where does the FH team go after bf2?

I wish them well - because I have nothing but respect for their abilities.

They've stated repeatedly that they have no plans for moving off of BF2 at all until at the earliest late 2008.

Further releases will go much faster after this one, since they say they've figured out what the engine can and can't do. A lot of the coding is done too. If they choose an easy theater to go to next (probably Italy) then it should take just months.

They are really taking a gamble on waiting so long with the mod.
But if you release it to early, people will complain about the bugs. Then again if you wait too long, people will lose interest and move to more popular games ( like CoD4 now )

Time will tell what would have been the best decision.

you have no idea what they are doing after FH2. Sorry. That's not how career modding works.

I dont think the situation would be any "better", if the mod would have been released earlier. People who dont like realism and WW2 will move to (eg.) CoD4, and people who like realism and WW2 will play FH, BGF, PR, ArmA etc... I think it's just simple as that, I honestly dont see how people who enjoy CoD4 would play FH2 in the first place (I've read forums, I know FH players who like CoD4, personally I can't just comprehend...).

My question has somewhat been; where does FH team go after first release of FH2? There has never been a well organised studio, like DC had. Will the remaining devs get finally bored with the ailing mod support for BF2 and concentrate on real-life stuff instead? I hope not, heck I'm still playing FH1, no reason for me to switch from BGF/FH2 to anything else.

I know they've said further theaters would be released much quicker, but for now I'm still "waiting" for the first

Haven't bothered to read through all the threads on the Forgotten Hope forums I take it. Even the unrelated ones have valuable information on them, that's how I got that nugget.

They're going to keep working on FH2, like they did with FH1 and the first release.

What I have is the word of the FH devs.

Read what they say in the Filefront Forums.

It's a much better community than this one if I may say so-and just hanging out here speculating is much more fun than going and getting answers isn't it!
