Who here is waiting on Forgotten Hope 2?

You may not see much about this mod, but dont let that fool you. The reason behind this is a very strong group of devs that dont leak release info.

FH for bf1942 still has full servers with a very active community.

The forums from the FH site is the spot to be if your waiting on the release.

This group of developers release their mod by theatre. The first theatre is North Africa.

sorry but FH2 will be played for about a month before servers begin to drop off and popularity dwindles as it will become hard to find a populated server that everyone can enjoy.

FH2 made a mistake when they decided to wait for perfection before release. I'm sure it will be a great mod, but it's too late.

Yeah, most of the BF2 players will go back to the ranked servers.

Not too bad for a game which was released 5 years ago, and for mod whose last version was released 2 years ago.

Maybe you can see a pattern if you look at other mods which are not set in modern times, EoD2 was released last spring (iirc), BFP2 not too long ago and BGF, which is also a WW2 mod, isn't out yet, either.

With that said, betatesting a mod that is almost ready can only take so long. Expect a release in 2-4 months, not 2-4 years, like "predicted" in the other thread.

But yes, most BF2 players won't like FH2 and will go back to ranked servers where it's about who has the bigger rank... sad, really.

The fact you guys are complaining is proof there is nothing else WW2 except the last generation of mods, and i dont see anything else new on the horizon as far as WW2 games. So FH2 and BFG and XWW2 have no worries. Each have their own playstyles and thus, will appeal to everyone's taste.

Ive played most of the new games coming out, and they are no threat to these WW2 mods, especially FH2, as they will appeal to a whole different set of gamers.

I'm waiting for FH2 quite happily as I am a WW2 nut and as there is nothing else in the works anywhere else I'll be playing this. I just hope it doesn't die here in Australia.

Of course I do. FH1 was a great success and will continue to be. But the mod popularity for BF2 has never reached that of BF1942 and never will.

Sorry to give a dose of reality - but mods for BF2 aren't all that popular relative to BF1942 (even now).

I'm not saying that FH2 will be bad, I'm just saying they waited too long to get the community excited about a great mod.

I'm quite hopeful of FH2 and Battlegroup-Frontlines. It's hard to imagine why we wouldn't see full 60-player servers a long time into the future. I, at least, am not moving to BF3 or anything else.

BF42 scale popularity is a lot to ask. If not BF2, what do you people suppose will be the next multiplayer FPS that will offer the same kind of abundance of mods as BF42?
