Well, I gotta say, I haven't read anything as entertaining as the OP in quite a long time. But like the guy above said, they would have done something about it by now. I'm not saying you didn't make a little trip to the FBI but I'd be willing to bet that they placated you so you'd quit bothering them. Like telling a small child "There, there, everything's going to be allll right...." Hacks have been out for first shooters since the days of Castle Wolfenstien for the Commodore 64. It seems incredibly unlikely that they haven't done anything at all about it in the past, what, 20 - 25 years? But then again, they are the government and they do like to take thier time. But 2 decades is inconcivable.

So, a firm pat on the back fo trying. But good luck in your crusade, because it's likely the only thing that'll be lost over this is sleep. :salute:

I tend to agree with you. I don't really feel that the FBI cares about hacks for online games - nor should they in my opinion. That said, however, there is a growing concern over the ability of hackers to damage or destroy vital government or independent sector systems, so I could easily see how this could relate. In other words, the dude hacking BF2 today could easily be the dude hacking the Pentagon in a couple of years.

It makes me wonder how many players have purchased hacks.....there is something like 4 million plus players worldwide listed on bf2player.......if you are talking revenues in the millions, then you would think that would get the IRS's attention in a big way...... heck they will go after a little old couple and take their house over a few thousand bucks......

some of us remember a hacker free bf2 world..... ah those were the days!!!

To the person that posted about hacks being around for over 20 yrs. While your statement has truth to it you missed a valid point. Hacks and hackers may have been around for 20 or more years but the sale of such hacks have not. So it is totally possible that the IRS is unaware of just how much revenue these hackers take in.

I for one am hoping this will be the beginning of something much bigger. I applaud the OP for their efforts.

always nice to see something postive for the game. Good work and I hope that such sites will be closed down. If those who have made softwear to gain access to EA or Dice gaming code to make cheats or even if they try and bypass PB all of which this is under copyright and protected by law.

"It makes me wonder how many players have purchased hacks" Never trust those who say bye this cheat or that cheat how do you know that you have not bought a blank CD or worse still virus for the computer. Never trust such sites and never see the point of cheating in MP games to gain the best possible advantage.

They'll be done for tax evasion. The sites will then move to China or somewhere and it'll continue from there.

I'd like to see where this goes also, those sites have caused nothing but trouble for Server Admins and a few legit players (name hack) so it should be interesting what can actually be done about them.

You can keep your thread it will have a nice little pin next to its name, to prevent it from slipping down the pages.

I sleep just fine at night so don't you worry yourself about me. You guys just keep laughing it up over there on your forums but keep this in mind partner I am 41 retired with plenty of time and money to burn pursuing this and you now have my full attention.

Isn't cheating at cards, slot machines, etc, also illegal? Won't you go to jail if you use some electronic device to interfere with a slot machine operation so that you score some winnings while playing in a Casino?

If that's the case, why shouldn't it be against the law to use hacks whenever playing multiplayer games?
