FFS! Go practice on singelplayer and don`t post on forum as if this is acceptable. Do you realize how many minutes you waste by this selfish desire of yours?

Because of your lack of skills to handle the singelmost important hardware, then you should neither pilot nor gun. Specially on maps where US has no flags on shore.

You can look at it this way: Wasting the most valuable hardware causes 29 players stuck on the carrier, in many cases beeing baseraped. A game without flags gives much ticketbleed, so that round last for only 20 minutes. After two minutes, the first-time Corporal that acctually made it first to the jet is shot down.

Then you have 29x20 minutes of those waiting or shot down by Z-10, 2x19 minutes (you and your choppermate), and 18 minutes for that luckyspawner of a first-time Corporal. Lets just say your minutes are not wasted, but selfcaused.

You then have wasted: 617 minutes, which is 10 hours and 17 minutes.

If people cared enough to just use two hours in chopper on singelplayer with "D.King & Co." Then you at least shuold a little respect for teammates by spending som time trying to learn a little before beeing judge on that server.

By all means, this does not count as playing on a server with 16/64 players, maybe on a map like Daqing Oilfields with more choppers. But it`s vital not to force through the right on maps like Wake Island, Dragon Valley and Dalian Plant on a full server. Specially while playing US, since PLA usually are bored a lot more of the time, just waiting for something to do, while their jets baserape.

I think you can leave out environmental conditions..

Stated in lay terms, SA is simply “knowing what is going on so you can figure out what to do”

"Situational awareness" can apply to anything.

I think there should be a pilot/gunner class.

That was some serious math skills x-ith, but everybody has a right to the chopper, even the new players. Of course, when I'm commanding, I'd much rather have Sloi as a chopper pilot on my team than Anni, but if some noob grabs the chopper first, us much as we can dislike that fact, we have no right to TK him or punish him in any way. When that happens, I guess Sloi and the rest of the chopper aces will have to adjust to that fact, and learn to be better ground pounders. Or is it better maybe if you practice ground pounding in SP first before you are allowed to play in MP?

Yes, sure but if you respect yourself and other players then you must learn first.

For example, I didn't bother using jets before I bought a joystick and spent some time offline. Same for choppers, I spent many hours offline to learn the basics, adjust my mouse sens and stuff like that. It was quite encouraging to learn :)

Call it a type of pattern recognition: if you can't process visual information rapidly, you're automatically disadvantaged when it comes down to flying.

The expression comes from self-defense and survivalist literature. The idea is to train your mind to recognize certain stimuli as dangerous or of interest, and responding to it adequately.

Most people do it on a sub-conscious level, if at all. You can train yourself to do it more efficiently...

                            3. Line me up! Give me a decent lineup for TV missiles, and be able to execute the circle of death or similar move to mow infantry. Also has to know where to find enemies and refrain from shooting enemies unless I don't see them.
                            4. Ability to evade enemy jets and choppers: They are basically the 2 only credible threats to choppers.
                            5. Be able to use the FFARs (unguided rockets) in case I miss. This is specially important against enemy AA.
Yep, I'd say I do pretty much all of that. But I certainly wouldn't say I've mastered being a pilot.

Using mouselook, and external views to determine where threats and targets are located.
