Re: 50 things you miss about BF2
wow MrBenis learn how to A: use vehicles and B: how to take them out, it is simple to do both if you know what your doing. sure i like/liked my IO but it gets very repetative playing the same 2/3 maps over and over with all that running/ reviving/point whoring. IDK if you know but the maps are the same for both IO and regular, so if you despise them so much why play ranked maps at all, download mods/custom maps, if you already have my apologies, but somehow i doubt it. about all the horrible things you say about old patches, what? i regularly play 1.03 for a change of pace from rotating 1.41 Vehicle maps and its damn fun. not for the overpowered vehicles (which are not overpowered like you say) but for the arcade aspect and pure fun the game used to be, the J10 was actually at the same level as the F35 god forbid, at rockets still blew choppers with 2 hits, AA worked fine as long as you let their flares dissipate and then used them, support weapons were fine used in short bursts still mowing people down, there was NO G36e (woohoo M16 ftw) M203 was easy to dodge/jump over but great against C4 chuckers, the game was generally really fun to play back thenComment

Re: 50 things you miss about BF2
I have absolutely no problem with 1s1k weaponry assigned to infantry. Im defending current BF2 system however, with a knowledge that it aint going to change.
Theres 2 ways to do it with a GAME, (mind you, its not a realistic game by any means, its an arcade game).
Skill demanding, highly rewarding weaponry
Aided, less rewarding weaponry
But this works for games like UT, where you have a limited number of players. With games like BF2, where there are 64 players, you have to add another 2 methods-
Power in mass
Power in teamwork
Which is why, with a potential of 32 AT players against you, it would be impossible for a tank to survive if it got killed in one shot. It gets killed in 2, and I find it to be reasonable enough. As it rewards people who can do those shots, and it wont reward people who are new to the kit (room for improvement).
Bingo, with all the potential out there, the game was FLUID, FREE and damn FUN. Because there was a counter to pretty much everything. All the game needed was bug fixes and 1.21 STA with 2s1k capabilities and 3s1k capabilities against transport choppers.wow MrBenis learn how to A: use vehicles and B: how to take them out, it is simple to do both if you know what your doing. sure i like/liked my IO but it gets very repetative playing the same 2/3 maps over and over with all that running/ reviving/point whoring. Re: 50 things you miss about BF2
Sure thing Mr.Benis can take down almost all infantry. That takes SKILL. They have the same advantages as he does, yet he still manages to prevail. Flying around in a J-10 raping the carrier and flags... Tell me where the balance is in that? No manner of skill with a base kit (unless you can shoot people out of jet moving at 900 MPH with an M95) allows you to take down that J-10. Instead you are forced to have your entire team commit to getting into stationary AA vehicles which are easily evaded and very easy to bomb (they are in STATIONARY positions). Except for 4 people in the jet and 8 people in choppers the rest of the server gets to spend their time attempting to survive the onslaught of air attacks while trying to cap a single ****ing flag. That is if they survive 5 seconds past their spawn. And you saying that "Well in RL jets and choppers pwn all". STFU, this is not real life, you are asking for those 12 players in air to have complete dominant power over the rest of the server. I/O is a chance for players who would rather use infantry rather than get raped while waiting for a vehicle that will allow you to rape. You think you have skill cause you can come in cannons blazing and Hydras flashing and waste a group of people waiting for vehicles/just spawning. Not very likely. You have an extremely unfair advantage over them. In I/O there are no advantages for one player or the other. Who wins is who has more skill, not who has the jet.Comment

Re: 50 things you miss about BF2
now this has turned into I/O vs vehicles? there is more than just wake with a crappy US team in this game, there are maps without the J10 and pre 1.2 the J10 was as balanced as the F35, which is what this topic is about. sure infantry only is a nice change, but vehicle maps are quite fun, you may get bombed, you may bomb others, you may win/lost jet fights but isn't that what bf2 is about?, you may get base raped, you may do it yourself, I have seen some pretty ugly base rape in IO too, 64-Fushe pass, (have you ever heard of it)? how about songhua, etc, just kicking back with the clan/your buddies whoever, and having fun, you can still use your precious G36/Pkms whatever you like just don't wave to the tank behind the wall, spot him out for your buddies on vent that are flying to take out, if your not in a clan then your missing out.Comment

Re: 50 things you miss about BF2
You have evaded the point like a J10 does with a missile. The point is, if youve invested 1500 hours into infantry, you will dominate in IO without competition (in pubs). You will have nothing to stop you from simply eating the poor suckers up and ending the game for most of the other players. And if a guy with much less experience would have a chance to equalize the situuation in a vehicle, they would have none in IO. And MrBenis knows that. He knows theres no "balance" for him in IO.
It takes SKILL to fly jets without having any competition. Too bad you infantry "wh0res" dont know what it is. Youve been putting yourself on to the receiving end of the cannon for so long that youve gotten used to it. It takes skill to evade air vehicles. I believe Ive used my bud as an example a lot- no matter how I would play in a jet, I would only kill him during a round 3 times. Max. Only if he severely fvcked up. That skill, experience and knowing how a jet operates.
The only thing that an infantry player cannot evade is an attack chopper. People with true infantry skill honed in vehicluar servers will tell you that. You can stick to IO.
They have zero advantages against his vastly superior skill. None whatsoever. Wake up.They have the same advantages as he does, yet he still manages to prevail.
I dont understand why are you basing your arguments on Wake, which is pretty much the worst map in the game bar Karkand? Only idiots play Wake... oh wait... yeah.Flying around in a J-10 raping the carrier and flags...
Quote me on where I said its fair to have a J10 in the game. That is if they survive 5 seconds past their spawn. And you saying that "Well in RL jets and choppers pwn all". STFU, this is not real life, you are asking for those 12 players in air to have complete dominant power over the rest of the server.
Those 12 players can create a situation where the rest of the 52 can have a good game. If theres a skill gap, theres a problem. Same as in IO. Take an exceptional infantry player against a crowd of usual players, and you will have an unmanageable problem. Ive seen it before, one player, one infantry player flipping the tables of an entire game. They will cap your as5 out, and youre left on the defensive, no matter how good you are in the jet. The chopper, pretty much the only counterbalance will get mauled by the oppositions air squad, and youre left watching how you lose a game. Ive seen that enough. J10 is not a finger of god. An infantry player with superior skill and experience without competition, is.
Only the pisspoor, underexperienced and skillless get raped. The rest get to the land and proceed to win.I/O is a chance for players who would rather use infantry rather than get raped while waiting for a vehicle that will allow you to rape.
Try to explain it to me, how is it "fair" in the same terms youre bashing vehicles, that a player who has the time to play 5-10 hours a day, can play against players that barely manage that 1 hour? How is it fair that a player can completely dominate a server populated against players with 100-500 hours? They will not stand a chance against his 1000+. You know it, I know it, MrBenis knows it.Who wins is who has more skill, not who has the jet.
Theres no such thing as "fair". Youre hypocrites.Comment

Re: 50 things you miss about BF2
Children! Don't forget that I have been playing this game since June 26th 2005!
I had to put up with vehicles, just like everyone else. I know what it takes to use them. I have a 6.2 KDR in AA, and 7 KDR in tanks. 3 KDR in jets last time I checked, but only some 27 hours in a jet.
Yes Red we've discussed this before, but since it's been brought up again, I think we should talk about it once more. Fact is, if truly 96% of servers are IO then doesn't that kind of reveal something about the core vanilla BF2?
I know for a fact that the only servers that I play which are full every day, are the two karkand IO's, the jala IO, and the Wake 24/7. 75% of these servers are IO, a credit either to the success of infantry play, or rather the colossal failure of vehicle play, and those who want it. Guess which school I adhere to?
IMO, as above, vehicle maps are full of whining kids who deny the existance of the problems at hand only because they do not have to deal with them. If you're sitting in a chopper 400m out using TVM on a totally defenceless MAA (which just seems ****ing retarded, WRT what a MAA is meant to be doing o.0) you aren't going to care whether or not he can shoot back. You're not going to think to yourself "oh well, I suppose it really isn't fair that my helicopter gets 6 1h1k missles that far outrange any viable defence methods".
Seriously, and I'm not kidding, there have been times that I've let people run away from me unharmed while I sat there in my tank, simply because I knew that this game is so damn screwed up. FYI, and a litle tip, reversing in a tank from a head-on missle reduces the damage it deals, even if it strikes the treads. Ripleys IMO. I have been in a tank that survived 8 AT missles, no engineer support, no supply crate, just reversing from incoming missles. How is that possibly fair?
So now I play IO. I can get killed just as easily as I kill. When I join karkand, my squad fills up instantly, and I don't whore medic. I mean.. I could if I wanted. Last night infact I decided to use the G36E for the first time in 6 months and ended the round lone wolving on a half full karkand with 45 - 8. There's no lack of talent at my end, thats for sure. I still have screenshots from where I got many kills against choppers using both AT kits and tanks. I have screenies still where I used MAA.
FUNNILY ENOUGH I don't have any screenies from kills made within jets or choppers. Why? Because those vehicles aren't for good players. You might be good IN them, fair enough, but if you're a good player you won't use them.
Air vehicles in this game are broken, it's a fact.Comment

What's more memorable, screeds of black letters, or the occasional post that rings blue? Used to be worse. In the EARLY days I used to post in this colour.
Can you imagine trying to read lecture posts in this font? It really blows the eyes out. I only stopped using this shade because one of the homo moderators (wargimp IIRC) decided he didn't like it, and threatened to ban me.Comment

Re: 50 things you miss about BF2
There is a major difference between IO players and normal players. IO players are sissies with no skill, spamming a few moves over and over and playing the same 2 maps.
It takes skill to play in and against jets and choppers; unfortunately some people don't have brains to realize that and run away like cowards to IO, where everything is easier. IO is a dumbed down version of BF2.Comment
