#whatever. Being able to take an attack heli without having a million people fighting over it.
Ah man, those were the f*ckin' days. You'd have, like... 2 or 3 people wanting in at the most. It was always available on DV64, of course!

Re: 50 things you miss about BF2
The Colonel ranking is the prettiest of all, and the ugliest among 2nd LT and above is 1-star.
Heck, that star looks so fat and distorted.Comment

Re: 50 things you miss about BF2
Lol. Nah man I was so happy when I got my 2 silver bars. When I lost them I h8d it. It just feels imtimidating to me...
I have colonel right now and its a cool looking rank too I must agree! Though I think one star looks cooler than multiple stars just for the reasons you say it is ugly Lol... However, my next rank will be 2star the moment I join in a server or get a point. 180,111 - unless my rank froze? Lol.
I want to wait for my friend to get on because you don't rank up to major gen every month :yay: :yay: :yay: but me thinks he may not come on

Re: 50 things you miss about BF2
Uh huh.
Could it be because of people flying or driving around in vehicles that simply could not be defended against?
People have been asking for almost 2 years for an increase in AA lock range, AA missle strength, and fixed AA tracking. With patch 1.2 we got that. Not even J-10's were safe from simple IGLA. But then 1.21 happened and everything turned to **** again.
So, finally seeing that there was more to BF2 than simply spawning and getting owned by some ****** camping a flag with his cobra, they introduced IO, which most of the now heavily disenfranchised population joined gleefully.
It was fun, interesting, challenging. Everyone was equal, not like that ****-sucker who M95'd the noob outta the jet before someone else did. That same pre-pubescant, squeeling infant that bombed the carrier on wake island endlessly, and would teamswap to china every round just so he could get a repeat dose of the same empty feeling of accomplishment.
You mean to tell me you want to return to the days when even a tank shell to a lightly armoured attack helicopter would not sufficiently damage it even to redline? You mean to tell me you want to return to the days when AA was more likely to hit an allied aircraft, than an enemies? You mean you want to return to the days of the LAV and Abrams camping the hotel spawnpoint at karkand for the entire round, because it was easy kills and required no further mental effort on behalf of the pilot? You mean you want to return to the days of when the G36C was laser-accurate, yet even the M24 sniper rifle had a minimum deviation >1? You want to return to the days of c4 chucking, dolphin diving, pronespam-macros, pointblank m203, and utterly useless support-class weapons?
I guess I shouldn't be surprised. You know mate, things have become what they are for some good reasons.. let me list a few.
Firstly, vehicle maps are BORING. You spend your time doing 1 of 4 things; Fighting vehicles with ineffective anti-tank weaponry, running a lot, getting bombed, or lastly getting camped at a flag by one. There's no deviation from these trends. EVER. You can't prove me wrong either, because this is an infallible truth.
Secondly, vehicles are still poorly balanced. The tunguska IRL has an effective range of almost 4 kilometres. It could shoot down your petty AH-1Z before you even get in range for your ******** tv-missles, which, I might add, are not realistic in their operation, thus removing any 'skill' that might have been involved in their use. Tank-treads and engineblocks are vulnerable to SRAW/Eryx fire, a single hit would disable a tank permanantly. But not in the BF2 you envision. Oh no. The one you want is where entire squads of 6 AT must fire at a single tank in order to destroy it because that's the only way you'll ever accept that you ZOMG ABRAMS M1A2 MAIN BATTLE TANK was EVER defeated by MERE infantry. And GOD FORBID those little ****ers actually use a TOW missle or something, OH NO. Man what the **** are TOW's anyway? I mean like, they make these little boxes and **** that jets and helicopters can see and shoot at from a million miles away DESPITE none of the stinger, igla OR a TOW actually emitting ANY KIND of detectable signal. Oh yes, getting shot by a jet when I'm mounted on a TUBE LAUNCHED, OPTICALLY TRACKED (NOT THERMALLY OR EMF OR EVEN LASER-GUIDED FYI) WIRE GUIDED (NOT COMPUTER GUIDED - OMG WHAT A SIN) MISSLE LAUNCHER is SO MUCH FUN I totally forgot why I wouldn't just jump into one, and type into global chat in giant flashing neon letters "Come and get me, man-meats!".
Thirdly, vehicle maps are poorly constructed when vehicles are present. That's right, I said it. 12/14 maps in BF2 SUCK. They are poorly constructed, ESPECIALLY when vehicles are factored in. Why? Well you tell me what kind of idiot actually puts his tow at the bottom of a hill, and not at the top where it'd be most effective? Since when is there a fricken dam in the middle of a desert that faces UPHILL and not downhill, and more to the point, has such steep and narrow sides? Since when the **** has a city like Mashtuur even worked, anyway? Come on, it's so tacky I just quit a server when ever it loads. Dragon valley? Puh-lease. Fushe? Pssssh. Wake? OCS? I'd rather commit seppuku.
Vehicle maps, in a nutshell, attract the stupid and the lazy. They attract the easily distracted and the hyper-sensitive. They attract the players with the WORST sense of morals and sportsmanship.
There is nothing fun about being camped by something you cannot fight back against (here's looking at you; jets, helicopters and LRMBT). I mean, on dragon valley I camp the carrier using the PGZ and wooooooah nelly there is a lot of crying and sulking, threats of admin action, bans and IRL stabbings etc, but god forbid I deny them their god-given right to J-10 the carrier when I'm on USMC.
Vehicle maps, their patrons and their contents are ********. I tip my hat to every IO player out there, no matter what reason they play IO for.
If nothing else, they're denying nostalgic chopper-whores like you the opportunity of ruining someone elses day just because you've spent more time in a broken gameplay mechanism than they have.
If you SOoooooooooooo badly want 1.0 back, why not just re-install, and play that? Stop whinging about the way things are, when you fail to acknowledge the shortcomings of what was before.Comment

Re: 50 things you miss about BF2
Hmmm... So this is how modern wars are fought, everybody on foot, chucking grenades and reviving each other... Ah that's interesting. No vehicles at all. Ahahahaahahah what a joke! I can kind of understand why a lot of people "rejoiced". All noobs that kept dying against vehicles, because they expected a single infantry unit to be as powerful as a chopper or jet! Dumb noobs.
Lazy or those who go to IO just to pad points. Any moron can get huge scores playing IO, and that's what it is about. The only good thing about IO is that all those noob statspadders went to IO =/Comment

Re: 50 things you miss about BF2
Dont pay attention to him. Hes been crying about "impotent" STA and "uber tanks" since I remember him. Weve done this before MrBenis...
STA at this moment can cover an area of 375 metre radius, thats a 750 metre diametre area.
STA has a nearly 100% hit probablily on all aircraft (excluding ESSEX)
STA needs to register 3 hits to down any aircraft
2 STA sites manned, cover 80-95% of all map area within the red border, varying from map to map, of course.
2 shots at a tank treads will kill it.
Newbies can go up to 5.
You can block a tanks movement with mines.
You can Jihad tanks with little resistence.
It only takes 1 AT troop to piss off a tank.
It only takes 2 experienced AT troops to make tanks obselete.
It only takes people to GIVE A SH!T, and tanks wont be an issue.
Tanks and Aircraft eat infantry for breakfast.
You cant match 1500 hours of experience with an attempt at it.
EDIT: If you want to see just how "true" and "considering" MrBenis is, look out for his infantry/support videos. He can rack up mad kills with little to no resistence from most BF2 infantry players. That kind of sums it up and makes him a complete hypocrite in the process.Comment
