Skill is hard to define in this game, because everything has been watered down so such a piss weak level.

bah, skill is what you want it to be. If you are happy with what you are doing, and it's not bringing grief to anyone else, consider yourself skillful.

He makes some good points...no pun intended. The human on human thing about BF 2 makes it what it is. It's like chess that way, only with a whole lot of other people making moves all at the same time. I seriously disagree with stats "making" people play this way or that. Some people react that way. Some don't.

As far as games go, (cheats will out) regardless of the plusses or minuses of the game, we're all playing with the same set of factors, so that's a wash. The only real unfair thing I've seen beyond cheats is clans on servers staying bunched up on one side and raping their guests on their server. Of course, they claim they're practicing, but if they really were, they'd play against each other on opposite teams. That kind of play may make them feel good about their "skills", but the advantage of Teamspeak, and the code of conduct they KNOW the other players aren't able to use as well tilts things so far to their advantage, they're just using you to rack up points...same guys claim stats aren't important to them, btw.

SKILL in a game has to do with winning, I always thought, with things being even...a bicycle race with pizzas on our heads sitting on the handlebars...then how someone pulls of that set of circumstances.

And, don't forget. Some days you eat the bear. Some days the bear eats you. I've seen some guys out there that are so good they can play alone against a coordinated squad, and win. Those people are cool to watch. But, I couldn't begin to say how they got that good. For me, it's like Bushkilla says, if you're happy with what you're doing....that's skill enough. Even for Rambo, there's room for improvement.

If you getting upset with the lack of skill or temwork on the battlefield. Then I think ya should take a look at 21CW (http://www.21stcenturywarfare.com).
Its unranked, but what you loose from statpadding, you gain by new maps and tight 62 players squad work. A capaign thats alot like Risk, to give the battles some meaning. And a right bundle of cool people for friendships.

And lets not forget all the other goodies. HEAT shells for tanks, mortars, sniper bushes, bikes, Armor rounds for choppers, Stinger kits and dumbfire AA sites, errr.....and loads more.

Theres info pasted around on this forum. I got info of it from the EA website last year and I've never turned back.

Sometimes a bunch of us will jump on a server with our 21CW tags, we aim for best squad and thats it, we dont gang up on people, if we come in mass numbers, of course we split between teams. Plus we normally play on servers where teamwork is practiced.
We all like a fair game, but we like a smart game even more.

Anyway Check it out. But you want to do rambo crap, then it aint for you.

Fine, if its for entertainment I can keep a civil tongue too as long as you do :p
and I will have to say it again I guess that I only called these people short attention spanned 11 year olds ect because they insulted me and others on the forum who actually read the post.
Yeah, I mean seriously, by the end of the day, or by the end of the session where you click the LOG OFF key, it doesnt matter to anyone so why bother. Besides, forum brawls arent the reason why Im here, as you can see me only arguing, really arguing over one subject and one subject only :P

Anyway, glad we didnt end THIS one on a sour note. And yeah, again I must apologize as I jumped into conclusions based on things I already told you about. And no, I wasnt siding with them as in one of my posts I said that I really liked what the guy had to say and I read his message.

It is a part of human nature to ENJOY irritating/pissing others.
Maturity has clearly illuded you as the only people who "ENJOY irritating/pissing others" are complete d!ckheads. There's no point in addressing your post any further as you have absolutely no credibility and zero knowldge of human nature.

Maybe that would make people more likely to help their team?
Agree. It might help to eliminate all the Lonewolves.

No ...stats are not everything, but they are something. Let's see, I have 156,000 points, and about 1400 hours into this game. My KDR now sits at 1.26 (and rising). After my first few weeks of playing, my KDR was at .5. I had to learn from the ground up, and no prior FPS game experience. I always played stategy or puzzle type games. I was fortunate enough in my early playing days, to get into a clan (Team Madhouse), where I was able to learn from some extremely good players, Fur10us and Scarface199. Scarface's playing style was a stategist, that covered the entire map. He is always moving, going flag to flag, and winning the round is the most important thing. Fur10us is the best 'all around' player, and the most brilliant helo pilot I have ever flown with. (I hope my current pilot, (TM)Virus, never reads this - he's good too :-)). EVERYTHING I know about this game, came from one or both of these guys. When I first started playing with them, I didn't even know you could pickup someone else's kit, thats how green (noobish) I was. Any question I had, I was able to ask those guys, and needless to say, I owe alot to them, for helping me learn BF2.

Everyone that is trying to learn something, at some point has needed help from others. It could be a brother, father, teacher, a friend, or even a complete stranger, but we all need to go find answers. What is a good player? Thats easy, ...a good player is someone you can learn from.
