I beg to differ on number 1.

I like your avatar though. :)

yea but usually aren't u running your server as a 24/7 Oman or Wake?

Yea but I also jump on low pings servers to have some variety in the week.

Actually 24/7 Oman, I hate Wake.

          Re: Joystick VS Mouse/KB flying

This is kind of a stupid thread, because everyone already knows JS > mouse, it's just that the people with JS are more serious about flying or had one laying around etc.

And yes, you can raise your sensitivity. If you have the Extreme 3D Pro I think it comes with like 50% sensitivity for all axes. Max it out to 100% and get used to it.

And sorry but P_Static isn't in the top 5 NA pilots I can guarantee you that. I know him, I don't think i've flown against him recently (only like a year ago when we both wake whored, but that doesn't mean anything), but just the fact that he uses KB/Mouse confirms that he isn't as good as someone that uses JS that is as good as he is.

Could anyone tell me if there is a way to increase the sharpness of turns wit a mouse +KB? I have the pitch setting to max (10) and still can't make sharp loops.

Up your sensitivity too. I have mine at like 9.50 or some sh!t.

I was on PLA that round and saw that.

You kept jumping him from behind as he would come in for a re-arm, and each time you'd land 1 missile and cause him to smoke while the other shots missed; you'd break off and he'd do a repair run; rinse and repeat till you finally shot him down.

Good stuff, but I was cussing the whole round knowing our J-10 had been stolen.

Pretty much true, but remember one thing: the best pilots use joystick, but the deadliest use mouse. I had to learn to fly mouse because with joystick you can't solo. But joystick is by better for choppers too what comes to flying and accuracy of maneuvers. It just simply does not work with TV guided, and that's why none of the pro's use it.

If you raise the mouse sensitivity of aircrafts too high, you'll have difficulty of aiming your cannon at your targets. Just just the mouse for small turns and aiming and keyboard for long maneuvers.

What's wrong with this post ^^^

                      A) Information is old and as you said it "doesn't mean anything"

                      B) You have had no experiance with someone good who flys mouse and keyboard

                      C) Your opinion is based from a bias public server, not an actual jet match

                      D) The fact that he is using an input device far more responsive than a JS with the ability to increase DPI to exceed anything a JS could produce with the experiance using the tool neccesary to perform with perfect handling should only prove that a M/K > JS

Basically a joystick is a pair of training wheels for those who are into sucking beefalo ****, time to take z3 wheels off.

That's all wrong. And it's not more responsive than a JS.. You need to know how to set the sensitivity even higher. There are ways to make the JS ALOT more sensitive (>100%), but it would be retarded, because you couldn't control it.. Same with a mouse, there is a certain threshold that the game sets, and you can't exceed it.. Both JS and mouse can get there, and since they can both be just as sensitive, JS has more control and you can sustain maneuvers. It's the stupidest thing i've ever heard.. mouse is not, and will never be, as good as JS for flying jets. Just because he is better with mouse doesn't mean that JS is worse.. if he beats a bunch of JS pilots, it's because he is alot better than them.

But saying mouse/KB > JS? ... come on, you have to be kidding me..

Can we discuss based on practicality, not which controls allow you to turn an aircraft 360 degress on both axis under 1 second?

I have a question for you Joystick advocates: what about the keyboard? I'm assuming good pilots who use KB/M use the KB to sustain long maneuvers. How does it fare compared to the virtual steroid pumped JS? To me, they seem equal, at least from my experience since I can't tell much difference of who has joystick or not when both of us are executing and sustaining long maneuvers.

Probably the only "advantage" of joystick that I've witnessed is allowing pilots to execute unorthodox evasive maneuvers...which is hardly useful and can be mimicked by the KB/M, just not convenient however.

I have tried to get used to a Joystick but I just cant do it...
I cant fly for krap either but i was worse, i did improve enough to manuever & get a few kills i got a long way to go.
anyway i improved most when i adjusted my sensitivity in my pitch & yaw in the control options on both heli & jet.

                            :salute:

When I used km to fly at first I didn't like the fact I kept running out of mouse pad.
