Joystick VS Mouse/KB flying

just looking for some insight on whos doing what....

flying with joystick or mouse and keyboard....


I have tried to get used to a Joystick but I just cant do it...

Joystick FTW.

I've honestly never even attempted flying jets with a mouse / keyboard combo, but can only imagine the limitations it must put on maneuvering; to be a serious pilot in BF2, you've really got to be using a stick.

After two years of seeing these types of posts, the general consensus is as follows:

1. The best chopper pilots use the mouse/keyboard; and
2. The best jet pilots use a joystick.

I'll be surprised if this thread turns out any differently. :salute:

i have a logitch extreme 3d pro...

I have it set up but it is way to sensitive... turned sensitivity down and now it jacked up the bf2 settings/configs... such at pitch front/back, rolls, and steering right/left...

any thoughts?

I use mouse and keyboard and do just fine, I'd probably be better with a joystick though

well... I have been messing with this Joystick...

pretty sensitive still and it keep climbing when you let off of the stick... sucks...

Jet: Joystick
Heli: Keyboard

There is no way m/k is better in a jet, and no possibility of mouse being better in a heli.

You need a joystick in a jet so you can angle yourself without using full sensitivity.

You need to use the keyboard in the heli to fan the controls.

Joystick and Keyboard for Jets; Keyboard and Mouse for Helicopters, here.

I use M + KB but recently tried the j/s (it's a crappy j/s though). I made conclusion that it's easier to dogfight and control speed with j/s but more easier to rail gun choppers/infantry with m +kb.

People who use m +kb, could you please tell me what settings are best for sharp turns coz whenever I'm in a dogfight, my opponent always out turns me in the same jet. I ask them whether they use j/s and most of them say no.

I use the mouse and keyboard to fly aircrafts...

After using both, I'm going to have to say that it makes no difference at all. I do however have better accuracy on cannons when I use the mouse and keyboard.
