I really do hope that those 300+ posts youve posted which are filled with whineage against pilots and the uselessness of the STA are worth it, because I sure feel my 3000+ posts of stomping on crybabies like you are. Thanks for providing me that entertainment. As for geekiness, 6 posts a day means 12 minutes of wasted time. Those same 12 minutes youve wasted on "casually browsing".

Better luck next time, welcome to the club, geek.

So we go back to the original point I made which is the game allows pilots to go 50-0 or whatever. By making static AA such a thankless task the game's failing to balance properly.
You still dont get it do you? You CAN get an impressive KDR with the STA "if" you put enough time into it. How do the pilots do when they start to fly at first? I remember my rough ride from a total nobody into someone who actually can have an enjoyable game. It didnt come without practice and dedication. And even with my own limited STA time I still have a 3:1 KDR, this means that even a hopeless groundpounder like me can have a good round annoying the sh!t out of air units. And if I can do it, anyone can. And anyone can do it very well provided they put their back into it.

You dont, you just whine. Youre trying to show me theres absolutely no potential in STA, at all.

Plus, if you think static AA is a competent rock to the jet's scissors you're plainly insane.
Its not. The "rock" can be created by manning multiple STA sites at a time using teamwork. You can cover most maps near 100% if you man at least 2 posts. 3 manned STAs will mean 2 minutes of wasted time for the pilot, probable 0 kill for him, and by that time the first STA he shot out has already been spawned. This is all too easy on paper, unfortunately a dedicated STA crew is something you will not see. Not because its impossible, but because people like you who wont even give it a shot.

It might be useful against choppers but that's where it ends.
Correction, it IS useful against chopper. Youre showing that crying again.

You go on about jumping in and out of static AA as if it's some kind of realistic and skilled tactic.
Oh my god! Where the f*ck do you bring the realism factor in! Its a game, where people break and bend rules and boundaries. You do whatever it takes to prevail. If youre seeking realism as an argument to justify your failure, then youre an idiot.

Splash damage from jet cannons will kill anyone loitering close enough to a static AA site
Splash damage of the jet is close to Cobras, which means all you have to do is step out of the STA site. Thats it.

In fact, you're the only pilot chump that seems to still believe static AA is a suitable counter to jets! Even from days gone by pro-pilots openly admitted static AA was of no concern. Either you're not a pro-pilot or you're talking gibberish, or both.
    ยด

I am not a "pro pilot" per se, but I will gladly take you on for a 1 on 1 to shut you up :) . Youre conventiently forgetting everything Ive said in the past in this very same thread. Ive said that you should not expect even odds with a jet when youre playing solo. Ive also said that a jet does have every advantage there is over you. Then Ive also said that put enough time into the art, you can become a nasty threat to the jets. And Ive also said that teamwork between STA and perhaps Mobile STA aswell will make jets either useless or stall them from doing their work.

I don't remember directly making reference to any of this before. When did I say anything about expecting to have superior k:d. If you're going to argue or discuss please be relevant to the points I have made.
No, youre just conveniently generalising. Youre still rambling on and on about how STA should be a rock to jets scissors, static STA included. Then you come up with this saying that you dont expect a superior KDR, so which is it?

Even if English was your 1st language I'd still believe you that it was your 3rd.
Im sorry, trying to impress anyone with grammar on an internet forum means automatic failure. Picking on grammar and spelling does the same.

Again I don't remember calling colony anything of the sort. You do seem to have quite a worrying penchant for the rear end and bending over though!
I dont mind taking it up your rear end verbally. Youre backpedalling, boy. Whats up, didnt like to get caught?

Static AA can be a treat to jets if its used correctly. If you sit in it and wait for jets, your asking to get killed. The best way to kill a jet in static AA is to wait it to pass over you and then hit him is his butt. After that you dont stay 1 meter away from it so he can kill you while strafing it. You WALK A COUPLE METERS AWAY. DrJambo, if you can use static AA it doesnt mean it suck.

We talking clan battles or your average servers here? If a team puts 4 guys in the static AA doing what you call teamwork then it will lose because the men are being ineffectively used for the majority of the time. 4 men in the various static AA vs one pilot doesn't sound like balance, common sense, or sound tactics...

That's what I said. And that's where your pretty 3:1 k:d ratio comes from.

You say you're a hopeless groundpounder and I'd go further to say you've now idea what you're talking about when it comes to ground stuff. You're definitely a noob if you think this. Splash damage will kill anything near a static AA site. How on earth did you come to this conclusion?

I don't expect a superior k:d ratio, but I don't expect pilots or anyone else for that matter to do 50:0 in an fps.

If were talking about clan battles, then most of the time the players are skilled enough to not to get killed by jets if they are on foot. If theres flag capping going on they purposefully risk with getting killed because the flag is at stake.

In clan battles air is covered anyway, pilots will deal with each other.

If were talking about public play, 4 people in STA are a small loss compared to a massive blow to the enemy air force.

That's what I said. And that's where your pretty 3:1 k:d ratio comes from.
Choppers, transport choppers and jets, the regular sh!t. I dont really care, I know the most comes from transport helos but thats common sense.

"near"`? To you near is a second of sprinting? Have you even played near an STA? In order for the jet cannon to kill you, it has to shoot pretty damn near you.

I don't expect a superior k:d ratio, but I don't expect pilots or anyone else for that matter to do 50:0 in an fps.
Just recently spoke of a buddy who went 68:0 or close to that with a 0, 800 ticket count. The game is seriously f*cked...

Good lord... If you stand half meter away from a static AA your asking to get killed. Is it that hard to walk a couple meters away? Your not very bright are you now?

As this is the only noteworthy point from your post and as we've established the fact that you're not a pro-pilot, for the sake of this discussion I think it would make the most sense to hear what a good pilot has to say on this assertion. Personally, I'd be very surprised if this is true. From the videos I've seen the pilot(s) never seem to have much regard for the static AA, other than maybe taking a couple of seconds out of their programmed route to get a kill with a few cannon shots.

Re: Cmon lets not all forget about poor little anti air...

Actually, having more than two STA can be deadly or at least EXTREMELY annoying for aircrafts, even in the J-10. This is compounded from the observation that missiles from the STAs are more likely to hit its target than the missiles launched from another aircraft, at least from my experience.

Even back in the BF2 1.00 days, multiple STAs in maps like Gulf of Oman were extremely annoying - You could probably ignore one STA since the AA missiles were crap in those days by executing a long and hard turn, but two or more STAs on you meant you had to continue such evasive maneuver yet increased the chances of you getting hit. Furthermore, since these STAs were in different places, your evasive maneuver could've placed you in a position that virtually guaranteed you to be hit by one of the missiles.

I just recently played on a wake server where i was the last man on my team in a J10. After USMC guys found out that i was in a jet, their whole team went to the AA sites and i can tell you that that was the most annoying thing i've ever experiensen in a jet. No matter where i was if i was below 300 meters i kept hearing the lock on sound. If those guys wouldnt have a supply crate near the UAV trailer on carrier where i used to land and repair/rearm i would have been dead in matter on munutes. The other thig that saved me that those guys in AA wasn't very smart so them kept sitting in it and making it really easy for me to take them out. But then again, every time i went down to shoot one AA another was able to lock on me and forced me out of that area.

Eventually they found out about my landing spot and Essex shot me down.

I like to wait until the jet come on a low strafing run/bombing run in2 the area then getting into the AA just as hes about to pass my position, this way he has no time to turn and strafe me and ill be facing his exhaust and hell usually dorp flares in a panic and ill score at least one hit.
