Anti air is a joke and by the time the flares from the jet are cleard for you to fire they hav already strafed you and you know it.
Sometimes I think the reason it seems so weak it so that it's just a defense against choppers while you need you own jets to counter theirs so that having airpower emans something.
But I think Anti air should have some chance in shooting down a jet and the mobile AA should only lock when you tell it to, im sick of giving away my atatck by a stupid missles lock when I wish i could just ambush it with bullets.

the most balanced thing in battlefield 2 is the m16 and choppers..at least you can beat those.

So you hate how the AA locks on to targets without your disgression? Dunno' what to tell ya'.

I thought this post was gonna' promote the use of AA but I guess it's the opposite.

u just gotta learn how to use them. Isnt it better to wait for the jet to fly-by then get in so he doesnt see+shoot you? and i still think that mobile AA's are way too overpowered.. have u played operation road rage yet?

and theres gotta be an AA expert out there...

made me google it, but yeh they would be a good addition. theyd still have to be able to dodge with flares of course though.

BF2 needs MANPADS.

We already do. It's called the AT class. I've taken many, many choppers down with AT. It's hard by myself though, because most times I die before I get the second 'kill-shot' in.

taking choppers down with AT gives me satisfaction, satisfaction at the fact that the gunner is balls with that beefy cannon.

Yes Kubra dam has them. Also Zatar Wetlands, Fushee Pass, Dragon Valley ( P.L.A. side), and Daquing Oilfields.

U.S. has the M6 Bradley Linebacker
P.L.A. has the Type 95 AA
M.E.C. has the Tungusta M1 AA
