When you guys talk about civil wars be more specific. There have been many civil wars.

Anyways, IF they release a new game I think it will be Second World War based. However, too many companies have focused on the Western Front, you guys have to remember that it was on the Eastern Front and by the Red Army that 75% (about / or over) of the Axis Forces were destroyed.

The new Star Wars Mod for 2142 will have my attention when it arriveves .

A DX10 version of BF2 and all the fook ups sorted out would be good .

I think they will port BF: Bad Company over to the PC or use its game engine to make the next BF game.

IF EA was smart they would scratch the futuristic crap *** BF2 has outlived 2142.

True that. People that are hardcore into the battlefield series want something thats at least a little bit realistic. Futuristic games just dont do it for me personally.:shakehead:

C'mon how can you not love that BAUR?? Instead of grenade launchers you get rockets, it's like an M16A4 that shoots RPG7s out of the M203 !!!! 3 OF THEM!!!

And 4 if you get the expansion, that makes two guns I'm addicted to, M16A4 with ACOG and that sexy BAUR with PK74 rockets!!!

The link below shows a player using a BF2142 BAUR unlock, I think he only uses the PK rockets once but you'll love it!!! It shoots three rockets out like an M203!!!

Most people are refering to the American civil war hence their location. I think that WW2 is overdone. The reason most people like the western front is its such a clear cut strugle, good vs. evil, freedom Vs. genocide, Country bent on world domination vs. the underdogs.

Now on the east front you dont get that. On the east front you have the Soviets led by Stalin and the Nazis by Hitler. It can take alot away from the feel of the game. The axis may of lost 75% of their forces on the eastern front but keep in mind they were fighting there much longer and expanded much farther east then west.

I heard red orchestra is good if you want to play on the east front.

They might do something like that it would be about the same time period but a better engine.

I'm hoping for Battlefield 3, being in the same time period as BF2 but with many more features and a better engine. Maybe a singleplayer campaign too.

Single player campaings for BF2 would be a waste of resources for EA unless it were like it was in 1942. They get money from ranked servers not single player. Right now they are in a tough spot. WW2 has been overdone in the minds of many and Pre-WW2 is not all that attractive. Futuristic stuff has an audience but not as big as the modern combat era.

Really I think the next game should not be an acctual war rather a fictional war in previous times. It would be cool if there was an FPS version of WiC but sierra has it so it would have to be diffrent storyline.

When you say the very near future its either modern or futuristic. Maybe with some of the newer guns but it would still be modern.

That wont be as good as you think. The engine was not meant to handel Lightsaber fights so they would just be about as equal to knives and I dont know if they would be able to get X-Wings and Y-Wings into it. Just get Battlefront.
