i think Dcon is a fancier version of vanilla,

i think this because i was playing yesterday and i was constanly getting tked for the planes/choppers, everyone base raping instead of capping flags, people driving 20 feet in a tank to get a helo.

i think id rather play PR or OPK instead of Dcon

Not really. Ignorance doesnt cause anger in me. You want to see hurt feelings? Should I share some of lamris PMs?

Its just frustrating when all these BF2 kids play thinking their game is so superior when Desert Combat is really the same thing with better gameplay and worse graphics.

That comment was aimed at the general public of BF2 who feel their game is superior and no mods will ever be better.

I can safely say BF2 has THE worst community of any game I have ever played.

wrong it has a bad community but no where near the community CS has. BF2 has its good servers and you just have to find one with good mature admins, become a regular and you can have fun time as well.

AF is the best thing for me. The maps seem so big, and nice. To me Ranking is what makes alot of these mods not last long. I hope EoD and Forgotten Hope will be good enough that people will forget about ranking... If not we will have to wait for Crysis, and newer games to come out to move away. EA/DICE got one thing right they have released a game that no other games out can really hold a candle to. It has good graphics, and over-all it can be fun and entertaining if you don't like CS:S. They've also got perfect timing on the game because really name one game that has came out where people have left this for it? SP games last so long then people are back to BF2.

Trust me, if I required everyone here to agree with my opinion, I would have left these forums A LONG time ago.

BF2 is the only game I know where people are actually willing to go out of there way to ruin others games. Its the only game where one person can ruin a 64 player game. Its the only game where mods are called crap. And its the only game I know that has a good part of its servers devoted to giving players free points (Medics in IO).

So agree or disagree, I really dont care. But the fact of the matter is, when your own community desires a fundamentally broken game over SEVERAL top-notch mods, something is very, very wrong.

Project Reality, POE2, And Forgotten Hope 2 are the only things keeping BF2 on my machine these days. I advise those who are willing to try different things than running around Karkand all day with a G36 to sit down and try these mods that dozens of people have put their sweat, blood, and tears into.

If you haven't converted to Project Reality you are quite frankly in my humble opinion an absolute moron. I won't compromise on that.

It improves just about every aspect of the BF2 game - helicopters fly like helicopters, an SA80A2 or M16 actually acts like a weapon and not an artificial toylike parody, and bullets can actually kill. Most importantly squads are much more than mere additional spawnpoints, VOIP is actually used, tactics and thinking are needed and players actually need real skill (not DC style fastest finger first 'skill') to succeed. Personally I always wince at the whines of 'bullets kill too quickly', or 'the respawn times are too long' - first off its a bullet ffs and second you are meant to stay alive at all costs, if you are running up more than 5 deaths on a full 64 player round you're not doing it right.

I have nothing to do with the PRM development team so no one should interpret this as anything other than my opinion but I'll be damned if I won't rage against abject stupidity. It is the same stupidity that irregardless of personal preferences raises comments for example that Halflife 2 is not currently the greatest singleplayer FPS, or that Doom 3 is better or even that the game is 'crap'. The people raging against it are like immature petulant children - the whole I want, I want mentality towards gaming is hilarious. I want to run around like a baboon shooting and die with no consequence, I want to use any and every vehicle as my one man show pwn-mobile or taxi etc and I'll cry when I don't get my way. The mod requires having a 3 figure IQ because it is a challenging, difficult game and in that sense you can really tell who's who by the ones who claim that the spawn raping, dolphin diving, jet dominated, nade chucking circle jerk created by the gameplay dynamics of an unfinished common level game is superior to a game that makes BF2 the game it should have gone gold and shipped as. Once you get going in PRM, you simply will not return to BF2. /rant
