HMMWV's and Vodnik's can be driven by anybody - Tanks and APC's require a specified kit - generally, you don't see a sniper hopping in a tank and rolloing off.

PR is a game that you may not particularily like - that does not mean it is 'crap'.

People need to have some respect for the mod makers. They put hundreds of hours of free time - which could be spent with friends or family - into creating a whole new experience for free, which they can only hope people will enjoy.

Unfortunately, a few people in the community feel the need to be disparaging, and call the devs work 'crap'.

Have some respect for the modders - without them, BF2 wouldn't even exist.

Its not crap but I wish some things were a bit different. I enjoyed it for the most part its just lame waiting 5 minute for a helicopter, and the kit thing is neat. Its great to not have some moron you have no clue jump into your chopper with you as gunner.

On a side note people still TK for them, and the bleeding thing is a bit to realistic its actually an annoyance. I can't say its crap though, I guess what turns me off from it is the lack of newer weapons. Alot of the weapons are the same as before just deal more damage and have no cross hair.



I sort of disagree with you. If he said its crap then its crap to him. That means his opinion of your mod is its crap. It seems to be the most alive mod out there. When I played there were plenty of servers running. Really you shouldn't waste your time posting to him. If I think something sucks and I've had personal experience at testing it then it will always suck regardless who post or tells me other wise.

The only thing I don't like is the spawn system. I doubt it would ever be changed, and I see the reasoning behind that, but come on, no one wants to be out of the action that long :P

Also, for better Vanilla expierence, stop pubbing. Find a good clan server, running good maps, with some friends, and play there. While I agree PR is better than vBF2, that doesnt mean its the only way to play

I like both the mods and the vanilla maps for BF2. However I have to disagree about playing on clan run servers as they are usually prone to team stacking, favoritism and clan politics.

While there are a few good clan run servers out there but as I said for the most part your better off avoiding them unless your part of their click or you offer to donate money.

Don’t get me wrong there is nothing wrong with donating if you choose but it should not be a factor in how you’re treated by the clan whose server you’re playing on.

In response to the original topic. Try joining a tournement 21CW for example. There are others out there. Its different than a clan and completely team based normally playing with a mod for balanced game play

Vanilla BF2 will feel hollow and shallow by comparison.


I tryed to play in the Vanilla servers after a few weeks of PRM and I wanted to hang myself it was that crappy.

that is your opinion, people might not feel the same way but you wont get anywhere by trying to force people to download/play a mod.

tbqh vBF2 isnt dead yet and IS still alot of fun to play, ive played pretty much most of the mods that have been released at some point or another, PR is my cup of tea so to speak, when i tried it when it got released i didnt like the fact that each kit was a variation of the G3, i like to have some thing different to use on each kit (thats my opinion and people may ir may not see it the same way)

just like the other thread thats around about someone doing the exact same thing but this time with DCON, but i like that mod after being a late bloomer in discovering it for 1942.

so the bottom line is, IF people are interested in a specific mod then they will download/play it of their own accord, not to be coersed into it, god its like a popularity contest.

I am not that impressed with it but it does off a change of pace from regular BF2. I have several of the mods and I can's say I am super impressed with any of them but I have to give the developers credit for all the time, hard work and effort they put in to them.

Come to think of it I recently downloaded the Project Reality mod and I must say I was not as impressed as I thought I would be.

Don't get me wrong it's not bad; I just expected much more after all the hype about it.
