it is a good time, but i average about 2.6 mins, difference is i spend most of my heli time 10m above the air, whilst soloers typically hover over 100m so as to always get the first shot in a heli vs heli battle, and to hit AA.

im pretty sure my average lifespan while soloing is around 10 minutes but thats solely becuase im so high up i never get hit by AA or .50 cal bullets.

lol but keep in mind if he gets in a chopper and then destroyed instantly that lowers his average. and back when he was a noob he might of had a crappy life span.

Just go on CLU's server, there's tons of choppers there. You don't need to TK a pubber to solo.

Its not all about stats for me, its me wanting to help to the team, and if no one wants to gun, then I will solo and I usually do pretty good.

If someones a bad gunner I will give them a few times and try to to teach them, if they don't listen or aren't improving at all and hindering the team, they will meet Mr.Redline.

Soloing is a selfish act, and its on the same level as stat padding to me. You may disagree, but the bottom line is that it's an EXPLOIT. You aren't meant to be able to fly a helicopter AND shoot its chainguns/TV missles also. The whole point of it is that its a cooperative vehicle. One pilot, one gunner. I dont care what kind of reasoning you give me. You may say its more beneficial for the team as a whole for you to solo, but that doesnt meen anything. Hacking is more beneficial to the team as well, but thats not legal. Why should soloing in a chopper be legal if its an exploit AND its selfish becuase you are denying your team a spot in that chopper. If you dont like the pilot, you dont have to gun for him. If you dont like the gunner, you dont have to fly for him. Get over yourself and play the game right.

Did you read my post? If someone wants to gun, I let them and give them a few goes Its not an exploit either, its a GAME!!! If you think thats an exploit, explain to me why someone can be shot with 50cal and survive, or even better, be revived to 100% by a medic with shock paddles. Is that not an exploit?

First of all, my post wasn't directed at you specifically. If noone wants to gun, then fine, theres nothing you can do but solo. Second of all.....I dont think you really know what the term "exploit" meens. Exploiting is taking advantage of something other than its indended purpose. Stat padding is an exploit because the way in which you do it is not the way the game was intended to be played. Its exploiting the numbers of the game, and the way you gain points by doing certain things. Soloing is an exploit becuase helos weren'y designed to be flown and gunned by 1 person. Why do you think EA/Dice changed the way the helicopter worked when you switched seats? They wanted to make it so that people wouldn't try to do both things at the same time.

Sorry, but the examples you gave were really quite dumb.

No thats not an exploit, thats how the game was designed. Please go learn a little more about what "exploit" meens before you try to argue about it.

I'd love to post another comparison, but I don't know the main account names of the more well known Helicopter pilots/gunners/solo'ers.

Doing so would be done out of foolish pride, in hopes of redeeming myself in the eyes of people who've already prejudged me. Thats what SerialButcher did, when I made fun of his Infantry Stats. True they were much better, but it didn't stop people from poking fun.

I'll do you one better, by simply improving my game on the account I have now. I'll never stop piloting for other people, but at the same time I'll gladly take up any chance I can to solo. Feel free to check in and comment on my stats as they continue to progress.

All this thread is about is the ventilation of frustrations regarding Helicopters.
Ever think how frustrating it is when people fly off and solo when they could have done so much better with a gunner? That's frustrating.

Solo piolits piss me off because the only thing they can do is kill vehicles but a fully staffed chopper owns the hell out of both infy and vehicles

Re: Flying and gunning is easy.

Hey, if there is no one in line for the seat, SOLO away.

In a tight game, if a total goofball is taking up that seat when better gunners are available, ask him to get out.

                    or,

Play 64 man maps with 32 man caps. Almost no waiting for toys, and room to move and play a little strategy.

My life much less stressfull when I avoid the 64/64 servers. I still make top three-five in the round rankings most times, but I don't have the fun I do with fewer guys.

soloing is the anti teamwork, and when you have a good pilot AND a good gunner, its a hell of alot more powerful.
lol, take any "good pilot and good gunner" and he'll get raped by [RoM]Impreza01 or x6.kev, or any other good soloer.

Re: Flying and gunning is easy.

To ShadowMafia: You are a tard, it doesn't matter if they cant in real life be flown and gunned by one person, just like in real life a plane can repair by flying over an airfield. You are missing my point, if you have a good solo pilot on your team and no one wants to gun, the solo can still keep the other teams equipment out of order. It is amazing how well you can help your team if you are a good solo pilot.

To cfschris: See the last part of above reply, a good solo pilot HELPS his team. So a solo pilot who manages to go 50-1 or even 50-0 is a n00b? Get your head out of your *** and open your mind.

Yes I do red-line, but only once the gunner has had a fair chance (3-5 chances) and still uses the chain gun on everything, hence wasting a chopper that I can use to keep the other chopper down with.

Wow....I think YOU'R the one thats missing the point here...Once again, like I said in my last post, go learn what the word "exploit" means. I dont know why your comparing it to real life. I agree with you that this IS a game, but that doesnt make everything right. I never ONCE said that, as you put it, "it doesn't matter if they cant in real life be flown and gunned by one person". I never said it did matter. Im saying that IN THE GAME they weren't meant to be flown by just 1 person. Before you post again, go find out what "exploit" means like I already mentioned.

Has nothing to do with stats. People solo in unranked servers aswell.

Its all about having to rely on total morons who dont know a first thing about gunning, and are too lazy to practice in SP.
