NO, that is not bunnyhopping. Bunnyhopping is hopping continuously either for increased movement or to avoid enemy gunfire in a fight.

Hopping to evade someone, or hopping around a corner in a bid for an extra gain of distance, or to hop over someone who is trying to fire at you, is not bunnyhopping, and a valid tactic.

I think bunnyhopping is gay, and complain about it all the time, but I don't suck at the game. There goes your theory.

    Wrong again.

Let's face facts. Players discovered bunnyhopping long ago, and are well aware of the effects on the hitboxes, that get all messed up when doing so.
Anyone can hit and kill a jumping target - anyone... It's the hitboxes that get all messed up when they do it that allows them to live longer. It's not skill. It's a well-known exploit.

We've all known this for years.

The debate on bunnyhopping rages on....

you jump about whilst getting to cover or to make them miss then you stop and let em have it.

perfectly valid thing to do cos if they cant hit you when you do it, then it is they that are the noobs.

i'll jump once if i need too but that's it.
i was just on a I/O server and all you saw was people pogo sticking and snipers pogo sticking and laying claymores. i ended up with 48/9 and the next highest guy had 20 kills. i guess they where jumping too much to shoot anyone.

Huh. I never have problems shooting bunnyhoppers in the face, and like I have said before, whenever I hop I get shot just as easily. True, the hitboxes are fubar, but not so much where I cant put 3-5 bullets into a persons face.

bunny hopping is fine, i do it all the time when i take fire, jump around a corner, reloading if out in the open etc. but it mostly only works against the noobs, thing is its still easy to hit people that just hop, now continuoes jump/dolphin dive before the 1.4 patch was hard to counter.

Bunnyhopping rules, if you are in the open against 6 people, what the **** else are you going to do? In real life those 6 people would have you in little fragments before you could move an inch, and they'll do the same to you in this game, unless you hop to avoid fire, and hop round a corner praying that your hitbox wasn't lagging.

Just what i experienced last night...ended 43/11...next highest was 22.
Learn to shoot...then u don`t have to be a bunny!

Exactly. People bunnyhop because it actually works. Now why it works has probably more to do with the game engine, then the skill of the 6 people shooting at you.

                    Pretty much. Nobody can win.

For the record, I've had more problems killing people who simply run or sprint around, doing evasive and clever tactics, then killing a bunnyhopper - who effectively has slowed themselves down to make it easier to shoot them.

For myself, I just don't want a game where everyone is jumping around constantly and bellyflopping around (re: dolphin-diving), making the game look completely retarded. In early BF2, that's all the game degraded to - constant hopping and bellyflopping.

Calm down, I may have misread it. The point of my response was not to call you out, but to clarify to the thousands of whiny players and admins who say even a jump to avoid fire is bunnyhopping... I've been accused of bunnyhopping so many times, even though I was nowhere near doing it, nor is it even my play-style. People are weird sometimes, so I'm just clearing it up.

Bunny hopping makes the game stupid. Anyone who does it should be shipped to Iraq to fight a real battle and see where hopping around gets them. Jumping every so often is ok. But spamming your jump key to try to avoid hit detection is lame. I'm not sure which you were doing, but I'll assume the admin overreacted. Bunny hopping isn't as bad is dolphin diving, though, which is still possible. Anyone who likes bunny hopping and dolphin diving and calls anyone who hates it noobs are the same people who buy G15 keyboards so they can create macros or download hacks and use any other exploits they can get away with.

This comment is just stupid, dolphin diving/hopping can all be done without macros, i do it all on my 5 year old dusty crappy keyboard, i used to hate it when i used to get owned by the dolphin divers but hey i learnt how to counter it by adjusting my aim and never stop moving and i rarely die from it now. like i said earlier hopping around works on noobs, 90% of experienced/skilled players i come up against know how to kill you when you just keep hopping.

Those who can, do - Those who can't, complain

Simple as that. Everyone can bunnyhop, but to combine all moves, shooting, nadespamming, spotting, reloading, aiming and everything together effectively isn't easy anymore. Especially when it has been "removed" now.

No bunnying means no jumping. If you aren't about to jump over gap or obstacle you don't touch jump or be kicked. Some servers where all obey this are actually fun to play in for a while. It makes everything so slow and camping oriented. And you remember how it feels to be beginner unable to move again.

Once asked about macros and ddiving a semi-professional BF2 team started laughing and asked who the noob would a macro to jump?

I dunno, it's quite hard to jump in an Abrams tank or an F16 while bombing a crowd. Maybe you meant on the insurgency side?

Spamming your jump key to avoid hits is a valid tactic. In real life, you don't have to wait for a ****ing flag to magically raise itself either, and you don't have rounds ending and you having to repeat your mission from the other side either. BF2 is an arcade game. Maybe you thought this was TotalAmericasArmy.com?
