Re: Unlocks noob or not noob debate

I don't mind playing against unlocks, only weapon I really think is nub is the G36E, in a way i feel sorry for people who use it because there showing there lack of confidence and skill and feel that they need an unfair advantage to be able to kill there opponent.

Don't know what dice were thinking on that one, but imho they deserve a pimp slap across the face. (flame me oh mighty G36E nubbins who say its a 1337 skillz0r gun)

As for me i don't use unlocks, M16/AK47 ftw

im not g36e whore but i dont see g36e as TOO powerful..i can beat it easy.
funny how people rarely start this same crap against hackers...the real players(if you can even call them that) who deserve the "you need adv to win" argument

I'm not sure I follow you. The real players play clan matches, which don't allow unlocks anyway.

The random deviation is the only way to really simulate a gun's recoil in these types of games. By holding back on firing a second time(maybe half a second) you can bring it back to practically normal. 2-3 trigger pulls from an M16 can be devastating. As is 2-3 triggers from a G36E. The only difference is that 2-3 from the G36E can kill from the chest, the M16 usually has to hit the head twice, or move straight up from the chest to the head(of course this in regards to an average server lag to client of say, 50ms, 1 trigger in the head of any person with any weapon should be a kill shot, M16 will kill in one hit in the head on SP and if you have low enough ping).

The point being, as a competitive player, you should know all of your stock weapons. If you play for fun, go ahead and use what you want. The general rule of thumb for all weapons in any game, is that each side has similar weapons, that either complement a team, or leave it distraught in the wrong hands. Game code is written to be as balanced as possible with all weapons. The G3 is incredibly powerful, but not very accurate. The M16 is very accurate, and has 3 shot bursts, but isn't all too powerful. Everything is balanced. But when you play in a public server, and the kits are so mixed up between unlock tiers, you can see a difference in effectiveness. Stacked teams, new players/old players, but this is what makes pubbing fun. The diversity of players in a MP game. But using all stock weapons is balanced. The game rewards you for playing it, so by all means, use unlocks if you shall. But those of us who use stock for 90% of the kits we use, we'll be the ones keeping this game alive competitively, while you move on to a separate game. This is not an opinionated statement, it's true for all games, and will be true for BF2.

Let's take a piece from a different game. I'm sure you all know Far Cry. Let's take 3 different weapons. Say...M249 SAW, M4, and P90. SAW gets 100 rounds of ammunition per barrel, and not much accuracy at long range(not anymore at least, haha). M4 has 30 shots and is accurate at short, medium, and long range(in bursts). The P90 is a semi-accurate gun that holds 50 rounds of ammunition, and has an incredible rate of fire that is counter-balanced by a random deviation due to the recoil. Now this game implements weapon weight, which affects your speed as you walk/run(and I believe the patches made sprint distance shorter depending on weapon, not sure though). Someone with a P90 at medium range can easily take out someone wielding the SAW, even though it's a much more powerful gun. P90 vs M4, M4 will usually win at medium range because of it's increased firepower and accuracy. But each weapon has it's advantages and disadvantages, making it essential to know each weapons characteristics. It's no different in any other game. The G36E may be more powerful than an M16, but at close range while running around, I, and many other people, can take it out easily with the trusty stock.

Although the use of unlocks vs stock weapons is completely under the choice of the player, you have to realize that games are coded to be as balanced as possible. A crappy player with an M16 can't take out a CPL member with a G36E, and vise versa.

But don't say that unlocks are better, or stock are better, because in the right hands, they can both be devastating. Just because you have good luck/skill with the F-2000 or SCAR-L doesn't mean that someone who can't use it properly sucks. I've seen players who can destroy me with an F-2000 when I'm using stock. It's simply because they are good with it, not because the weapons are better in any way.

Wait, so now we're arguing on who the "real players" are? L33T H4X CL4NZ don't make up much of the community, and they contribute **** all to the game IN COMPARISON to the majority of "normal" people who just buy the damn game and play it.

TWL isn't normal enough for you. That's probably the largest competitive community in BF2, and we're not 1337 h4x cl4nz as you say. We're about as normal players as you can find with decent+ skill.

              Im not sure YOU follow.

NEXT time when you quote someone dont leave out the important part in the quote.
you cut out the part where i referenced HACKERS and then went on explaining some crap about competitve and non competitive players which weve ALREADY HEARD BEFORE earlier if YOU where following the argument you'd know that.
i never mention competitive or non competitve players in my post all i said was

              1. i can beat g36e

              2. hackers suk and people rarley attack them like they attack other players style (whether its nade spamming or claymore whoring)

              3. and last that the g3 and f-2000 take getting used to

so before you start your post by calling someone an idiot...READ.

both of these not being for noobs i dont see how a smg can be for a noob since they are all the same...fast fire..close quarters.

Unlocks make the game one step closer to both teams being the exact same just with different skins.

                      That's what I've been saying.

Games coding makes them balanced. They just look different.

TWL is not a clan...hahaha. It's a league. A few steps below CAL. We're the normal everyday gamers, CAL are the hardcore gamers, and CPL are the 1337 f*ckers everyone wants to be like. Ha.(Not literally, take sarcasm)

                      Team Warfare League

I didn't call anybody an idiot. But this far in to the game's life cycle, I'm surprised that the people playing aren't strictly competitive. All in all, it doesn't matter which guns are better, or noob. It's about playing style and what matters. And leagues are what matter. Pubbing means diddly squat except decent practice sometimes.

And yet it's still balanced because if you're spraying the DAO-12 you're running through your clip within a second or two. Then you need to sit through the reload animation for half an hour leaving yourself exposed. Not to mention the gun isn't accurate outside of 10 meters.

games are made for you to buy and then be entertained with, when i buy bf2 and enjoy it ive fufilled its purpose, if competition is hwta makes you hve fun then by all means compete but dont say pubbing means squat when its does for the same reason that competition does, alot of you competioners see pubbers as kids with little skill, when if fact competion wouldnt be possible without first putting large amounts of players together (PUBBING)
