hmmm i think my bank who owns my house I am paying off, along with my wife would not be too understanding if I decided to take up BF2 fulltime ....

I also sucked when i got the game,but just like anything..the more you play it and or do it,you will get better.

Don't use unlocks.

Because you learn play better if u shoot ''normal'' weapons

Alot of good tips here, and alot I agree with. True, the more you play, the better you will get, and always try to learn to be a 'good' player, and not just 'another' player. Go through each kit, and learn about it, and what they are for. Try to get good at each one, and then settle into favorites. To learn 'skill', stay away from unlocks, but also learn what they are and how they are used as well. If your worried about making someone mad because you are new, practice in low populated servers or in single player until you can go 'public'....but, for the most part, dont worry about that and practice. Play with good players, and learn from them. Join a clan to learn team play and strategy. Awareness is absolutely the best advise there is. ALL the best players I know, always seem to be in the right place at the right time, and a step ahead. Learn that, and you will be a good player. The one thing I worked on the hardest was to win most of the one on one battles. You come around a corner and run into an enemy, be the guy that usually wins...when that started happening is when I started feeling like I was getting better. Think of what you consider a weakness, and work on that. Don't worry about how many kills you get, worry more about how many deaths you get. Good luck, and most of all ...have fun

I've had the game a week now but still get owned by most people on it. I normally play as medic class on road to jalahabad no vehicles. Anyone got any tips on how I could get better please? Thanks

Seek servers with decent ping so that your game play doesn't suffer from things that are not up to you. Try to find servers where are better players that you are. Swallowing some beatings makes you think more. If you are not as fast, accurate clever or what ever as your opponent, you naturally try to find alternative way to overcome him. If you can't finds such way, then you avoid him and cap some other flag and make him run. Brain is your best weapon in any situation.

Wow - really getting some excellent responses THANKS! After about a week of following all this advice I am three, four maybe five times as good! The situational awarness idea and not always facing the enemy direct on were brilliant they have helped me loads. Yes I have started playing on Karkland with vehicles and joining squads and I am learning how to play preroply. :)

USE YOUR MINIMAP and if you hear that your team just lost flag check if you are in that area. If you close you can get some EZ kill with nade.
USE NADES all the time!! If you see on mini map that enemy is runing at you or taking a flag trow nades in that direction or close to flag pole.
One more thing. With time you get better of course and with level of your play adjust you mouse sensitivity settings. I will take a while but with time you should have your helo and plane settings up to Maximum and land vehicles up at least to 5. Do it gradualy so you have time to adjust to it.
Check full map when you think you safe to see were action is taking place.
Look for UAV scans. Don't be afraid to talk to your SL on VOIP.
If you getting killed in one spawn don't try to spawn back there until you know when shooter was.
I can't believe how many people are still doing this. Just yesterday I got one dude at least 10 times in the same spot and he never changed his trail.
You get a lot of clues from just simply hearing things. Do not switch to english only option. IF you US and MEC/China medic is reviving someone near you you will know right the way that enemy in near. Trow nade that direction and BOOM you got 2 kills. If you have english only you will have to check minimap to see if this voice was friendly.

Last thing of advise. Hide when I'm in the tank or better yet if you see me in the same server go elsewhere. ROLF j/k

well back when i was an idiot i played 1.3 when i didnt know 1.4 was out already so i had been playing 1.3 non rank servers for nearly 2 months.Then i got 1.4 and started pwning rank servers.

Start out with non-rank servers for a while.Play maps your used too.Within a month youll feel a change.

Ive seen people go from private to sergeant in 8 days.
