This is why most comp players think you pubbers are total scrubs. You think rank means something, it doesn't.

Some people learn from that mistake though... in the form of "that's not your first account, right??"

ive not met a single low rank player that could hit things with the tv missile. the ones that did get a few kills or either alot of kills were the higher ranked ones.

of course i know that rank could mean nothing, because it could be a 2nd account, but still they should be good at gunning ?

I started becoming deadly with the TV missile at about 10,000 points. Not sure what rank that is. I didn't become proficient as a pilot till about 50,000 and now I'm still learning.

I've seen tons of pubstar colonels and generals think they could fly, but in reality are some of the WORST pilots in the game. Barrel rolling into smoke stacks, or the ocean, never lining up for shots, always trying to dumbrocket everything instead of letting the gunner do his job, and my personal favorite, capping flags in an attack chopper, pure moron. That's if they aren't the kind of scrub that redlines the gunner before even trying.

                      Re: Helicopters.........

Here's my 2 cents on chopper solo pilots, if anyone cares (which I doubt).

I am not that good in an attack chopper. I think my rank is like 75000 LOL. Only a few hundred kills in it. I doubt I have 30 hours in a chopper. I really am pretty bad in it. However, I've watched Sloi's videos, and can get in a chopper alone and TV just about anything. AND I SUCK! Its really not that hard. I have a harder time hitting something with the choppers regular missles than I do with the TV missle. It just takes a little practice on single player Dragon Valley and you can get kills.

But that's not my main point. My main point is that it isn't that realistic. Some argue that BF2 isn't made to be realistic, but I argue that DICE programmers try to put as much realism into the game as possible, to make the game playable. The tanks treads move on the terrain realistically. A player crawls on the ground realistically. Other stuff. They try to make it as realistic as possible, without making it a simulator. With that being said, how realistic is it for a pilot to jump from the back seat of an attack chopper to the front seat when he had 8 inches of clearance above his head to the chopper's hatch? He can't freakin fit over the seat, let alone to get in it in .1 second, fire a shot, hit a target, then get back to pilot seat and fly away.

But then again, Dice didn't make seat switching realistic in any vehicle, and I find that a mistake. COD2 does it right, putting a delay in switching positions, and Halo does it good by making you have to exit the vehicle to get in the other side or back of it. BF2 totally fubar'd seat switching, which has turned into an exploit that they refuse to address.

In this case, fun > realism. Imagine trying to bail out from a blackhawk so you can switch to AT from the chaingun so you can take out that attack chopper.

Just remember that Dice could've addressed this issue but didn't: conveniently, the heli will auto-rotate and slowly drop to the ground after 4 seconds without a pilot. In case you haven't noticed, that is exactly the time needed to switch, fire off a missile for its whole travel length and switch back. If they really wanted to eliminate soloing, helis would drop immediately after the loss of its pilot.

Think about that for a while.

No, it's not. They already addressed it, as Sloi said, so in reality they don't think it is an exploit that needs to be removed. So everyone that cries about it can stop, because DICE made it that way.

I think it's a glitch. When you switch seats the rotors should stop and the helicopter should immediately drop like a rock. This "feature" and the missile lock glitch should be patched in my opinion. I am doubtful it will happen though.

It is not a "glitch", switching seats is a feature. If you are gunning and your pilot gets shot out, it happens, you have time to recover. DICE recoded it already to be exactly enough time to switch, fire, guide, switch back, so you have to know what you're doing to solo.

                                C4 chucking...removed (not a glitch)
jumping and shooting....removed (not a glitch)
all passengers capping a flag from inside a vehicle...removed
                                dolphin diving...removed
                                Cartillery...removed
                                Dragon Valley Temple glitch...removed

Numerous other actual glitchs have been removed, EA/DICE are running out of tampons.
