Put the L85A1 on single shot, zoom in, pop away at heads. Very accurate, great range and turns you into a sniper medic stealthy healy death machine. Don't knock it, in the right hands on single shot it can be devestating.

does 2 more damage than G36E, may not sound like much but that equals 1 shot to the head to kill instead of 2. bind single/full to an outside mouse button use it for a week then come back here and say it sucks balls. average of 2 bursts with 36E to kill, average of 2 single shots with L85 to kill, this gun far from sucks.
here are some L85 rounds of mine against an onslaught of G36E/pkm Zombies on your typical karkand server. if i can pwn with it i am sure many others can as well, simply because you cannot use a rifle as effectively as others dont mean it sucks. it is the funnest to use IMHO once mastered.

I belive I can use the gun as good as most but find it doesn't suit my play style well.
I use it a bit on Road to Jellybad because of the amount of long and mid range shots. Eg 4:50 - 5:05 in the vid, probably the best gun for those shots imo.
However I usually stick to Ak-101 and G36E because I genrally find them better for CQC.
Skip to about 3:35 in this vid for some L85 CQC and mid range action. See its not that bad if you know how to use it. Anyone have a link to any other decent L85 vids? Most of them are just M16/Ak-101 :/
Also agree, I don't like the look of it, it seems weak and doesn't give you much confidence. Also find it un-reliable, half the time killing in a couple shots, the rest taking half a clip. Get a lot of bs head shots with it as well. Probably all because it has so much recoil.Comment

Meh good only when i fire on single shot, auto fire is retarded, and yeah ONLY i use when single shot, and i am giving up this game, for a mod, and i just am gunna get one thousand points so i can rank to first sergeant then i am gunna call it quits, i have 200+ hours and yeah its boring as hell, Try BF2 Assault mod, it blows the **** outta vanilla!

All the weapons have their advantages and disadvantages, it's just matter of practise and learning the limits of the weapon. If you are good playes, every weapon is deadly, even just the basic pistol. Many people underestimate the mp7 for example, and I have nothing but good things to say about it, of course after many hours playing with it. Again, it's just practise. Back to the topic, g36e is more accurate than l85, but I preffer the l85 because of the full auto fire vs the 3 round burst on the g36e, feature that has got me killed many times. When i'm sniping, single shots or 3 round bursts are of course my choise because of the increased accuracy, but for close combat I need my full auto.Comment
