Top Gun Greg, how do you know he was using a macro for his soloing? Without paying special attention to TV trail, it can be near impossible to detect. Even if his switching timing is always the same, it's not necessarily an indicator of macro use: I manually switch so fast that I get bugs most people never see...

Anyway, I'm just asking why you think he's using a macro.

No everyone can't, i've been playing this game for the better part of a year and I can't solo tv. I can pilot and gun pretty darn well, just not at the same time. It's the little kiddies with there macro keyboards that seem to enjoy this sort of thing because they haven't teamed up properly. The ones without macros do have real skill, but I can't tell between macro and non macro.

We have a rule on our server that states that we do kick for solo tv -- We feel that you should work as a team when using the choppers. In addition, would you be able to climb over a seat IRL to fire the missle and then climb back over the seat again to regain control of your chopper, I think not. It's also unfair to the people who do use the choppers in the proper way and get blow away because someone's solo tv'ing..... 2 kills against 1 kill.

Anyways that's my two pennys worth....

I won't debate the first few points (they've been argued several times before) but will point out that even without switching to TV, anyone could use dumb missiles to shoot down the enemy heli: are you trying to say that someone flying alone (either because no one else is interested or the gunner has been shot out) shouldn't be deserving of the two kills he would get by shooting down the other heli?

I don't mean any offense by this, but I'm glad your comments aren't taken seriously by Dice. :)

he was NOT kicked for cheating
he WAS warned FIVE times NOT to fly ALONE
it is a TEAM sport, and this has been one of our server rules for MONTHS
but
because he was a better player than most = specifically did NOT want him to feel he got kicked just for being good

this is the only reason he got more than 2 warnings
he was KICKED = NOT BANNED
till he came back and began NON_STOP swearing

BTW
he was also using a macro as solo pilot
(do not tell me PB has blocked them - they are still easily used)

yes- I am the admin that kicked and banned him
and yes - even after this happened
I took the time in game (via all chat) to invite on his clan mates into our ventrilo, then I told him on Vent -
"hey - I just banned one of your regular guys"
"tell him I will lift the ban - all he has to do is keep his mouth clean"
and the guy said - "sorry for his clanmate and he would let him know"

we had a saying in our squadron (fighter pilots)
"it was the first one the the chalk board that won the dogfight "
(for those of you that do not get it = means does not matter who flew best . but who tells their side of the story first)

soloing is only ok if noone wants to gun for you. IRL you could not switch seats in a cobra and keep it from crashing. a 2 person team is much more effective then a 1 person seat switcher.

against a good soloer, thats not always true. i alone can hang with good chopper duos. there are many others out there who r actually much better solo than with a pilot cause they can be lined up the way they prefectly want it.

In real life, you wouldn't need to because there are redundant systems to ensure that no matter who gets capped, the other has access to the same functionalities. Another failed argument against soloers... :)

if you want to solo I dont have a problem with that, it only becomes a concern when you fly the gunner out of bounds, or start tk'g for the helo..

there is nothing in the ROE stating you cant solo a helo..

soloing isnt cheating but it shows that u cant fly a heli properly. i fly a heli all the time and i would say i am pretty ace. i rank 410 in the world and love the cobra. i hate solo chopper pilots. all they do is go up really high and seat switch all round with the TV. they have no skill at all and it really pisses me off when i get killed from a solo pilot. i would own them in a chopper to chopper combat fight but they are scared and just seatswitch all the time. ANY GOOD CHOPPER PILOT DOESNT SEATSWITCH. i never seat switch and never will. most of the time i can sneak up on seatswitchers and take them out but please dont just learn to fly.

lmao #410 in the world says good pilots dont seatswitch. holy **** it must be true if he says it...please i fly with number i think last time he checked it was #94 and hes one of the best pilots i know...and guess what there #410 in the world? he seat switches...so no, your dead wrong, good pilots r the best seat switchers, in case they miss, they know how to evade like no other, and only a clueless noob would let someone blind side them in a pub and let them kill them with the hydras or whatever theyre called.

Soloing is not that difficult u just have to practice and not use lame macros
But I dont solo in MP only in SP

oh and max is number 131 in the world and hes a damn good pilot too...and guess what? hes a seat switcher as well. he can avoid my tvs like no other .
