I was involved in a well maitained blackhawk, engineers, the works on board..This was the result.

ive attached one of me being a gunner and a good pilot that knew i was good so used my side of the chopper to kill everything, went 48-0 :P. ive managed 84 kills i think as my best on mashtur :laugh: although no screenshot of it!

it was boring if you took flag after flag instantly, but not if you were going for kills and occasional capping. mowing people down was immense fun!!!!

I find it amusing how most users here seem to praise the UH-60 before it got nerfed by DICE. After all, DICE decided to reduce the effectiveness of the UH-60 since it was the community that demanded the UH-60 to be nerfed. I remember several threads that discussed about it, and from my memory, almost half of the members wanted the UH-60 to be nerfed. Flashforward to the present and now I'm reading posts in which most are actually praising the UH-60, claiming how they miss the "good old days", and how the UH-60 wasn't devestating as it could be shot down with "moderate" effort...if you believe having 3 .50 caliber machine guns or a six member AT team shooting at the target is "moderate".

Same with the missiles back in 1.00; it was crap, but now I'm reading posts in which pilots claim it took "skill". The question is, are the missiles supposed to be working or does the pilot have to position their aircraft so that it is impossible for the missiles to miss the target?

Then there's the grenade launchers, I'm sure by now you got the idea I'm trying to convey. If there's one characteristic I learned about game communities is that if they can't win, they will whine. And all can't win since half must lose and half must win. The winners will zip their mouths while the losers will come to forums and rant verbosely and poorly about a weapon they believe is "unfair, unskilled, or too easy".

I find it amusing you are shocked by this. And I find it even more amusing game developers like DICE don't understand this concept also.

The winners don't "zip their mouths", they simply have nothing to complain about. I know I don't get motivated to come to these forums and post about how much I like this game. I only get motivated when there is an issue that is grating me. It's human nature. And I'm not going to sit here and debate with every whinner that has an issue about how I disagree with them. I'm going to ignore them and go right back to enjoying my game. Call it what you want, but I don't see the reason/motivation to waste my time consoling whiners.

Just because someone complains doesn't mean there is an issue that needs to be dealt with.

So before, people owned by the BH would complain. Now, people that used to do the owning complain. What don't you understand about how expected this is?

What does get to me is why developers don't do better research on such things when people complain and instead just nerf away. They seem disconnected with the true situation. I'll be the first to admit the BH had more power than it probably should have. However, it's been nerfed so bad now no one uses it. How about something in the middle?

indeed, most of the complainers are total utter whiner babies, everyone else is busy killing people in the game having fun. hence you dont see many others coming along and saying " no so and so is fine". its just the same old faces complaining about various things.

Not this again.. there was no way to get the amount of teamwork needed to succesfully counter a BH on a regular bases.. for the simple reason that there is no 6 position vehicle available that would pretty much guarantee 150 points per round that would take the BH down. So dont give me the ol' BH whore kneejerk reply of old.. it's been beaten to death, just accept the thing was overpowered.

There is also no way to get the amount of teamwork needed to successfully counter a well practiced clan working together on a regular basis...

The point is, the BH was a situation where pubbers could come together in a team oriented fashion and succeed. It was an inherent game mechanism that lent itself towards working together as a team to achieve a common goal. And if you did it well it was powerful.

I believe when you indicate there was no way to get teamwork as needed/on a regular basis, I believe you simply needed to improve your leadership skills. A facet that I very much enjoy trying to improve on myself in this game all the time. I find if I seek out people that will communicate with me (preferrably VoIP, but text chat too) that I can easily coordinate a squad to do as needed.

The challenge is in WORKING TOGETHER. That requires communication and effort. I don't get why people think that if "teamwork" just happens without communication that it's something to be proud of. That's called luck. You can't just go AT form a squad and hope people will join you and support you. You need to find people that will talk, engage them, discuss ideas with them, then work with them. Encourage success by recognition and refocus failed ideas by suggesting new ones. People will follow, but you have to show leadership first.

The BH of yesterday forced teams to work together and communicate. It forced teams to work out who was going to do what to combat the BH because it was so formidable when used with teamwork.

I found when I tried, I got an ANTIHELO squad together and effective almost everytime.

It was bad. But they nerfed it more than was needed. I would have liked to have seen the splash reduced just a tad and the other helos given a little splash and totally removing the ability to repair in flight.

In game what you would have seen was half your team waiting by the helo pad. Once it spawned it was a mad rush to get in. those who did not make it would shoot those sitting on the doors.

Once it took off it would just crush all the foot soldiers and light vehicles including the APCs as it went from flag to flag instantly taking the flag and moving on. You could not defend against it. You best bet was to try and get a jeep to sit in view of a flag and wait. Even if you laid into him, he would still cap the flag and run off smoking being repaired by the people in the back. By the time it made to the next flag, it was at full health again.

I really must say, I hated the BH - two teams of equal skill and teamwork - the team with the BH will most likely win. The other transport helo guns were mostly useless.

But for those guys whom just run around the map, and get blazed as the blackhawk flys by, well, it happened alot.

Some people just lone wolf it all the time, i found that those were the people i saw dying the most, not organized, just respawning over and over at the same spot they hover in the chopper, and get mowed down again, and again.

And these would be the people that would cry on forums that is was to powerful instead of using ....tactics.....shocking.........did I just say tactics.....oh noes..... to take it out.

We would blackhawk the hell out of people. Then when they would cry. We would switch to MEC on mash and tear apart the BH.

A few well placed vodniks can take out or chase away a full BH in a matter of seconds.

But who am I kidding....it's easier to cry then to come up with counter tactics.

I dont agree. the lone wolfs were safe from the fire. It was people who were in squads and near others who tended to get hurt the most from them. It took no skill to use the Blackhawk but it took a ton of skill, team coordination, and pure luck to bring one down.

My point exactly. It would need a massive dedicated effort by almost everyone in the MEC team to get rid of it.

Trust me, back in the day- when helos could be repaired mid-flight by engineer passengers... BH's were absolute NIGHTMARES!!! We'd always need a hero to suicide it.

Best part was when you had a few AT shots on it and you get the last AT hit and Booom...Alot of kills for you. It was such a map changer. like mushtur city, The BH would jump flag to flag just raping everything in site that the game would be over within minutes.

Oh yeah, I remember that. Record time I've seen a BH full of engineers finish off a map: 4 minutes. They were a clan. We were all noobs.
