Give commander a nerfed artillery option. It would be like 2/3 shells fired from the artillery so much weaker than in full BF2.

Introduce transport vehicles into the game to increase the speed at which rounds play at. Having to run everywhere is just damn annoying.

I whined? Don't know what you define as a whiner, but i sure am not one.

A whiner, to me is someone who would go as far as making a topic dedicated to whining about IO and wanting it changed to suit themselves.

I didn't like being killed by vehicles over and over, but i didn't come and create a topic.

Eeeeh. I don't know about that. Half of the fun of IO mode is knowing you're not going to be shelled to all unholy hell.

Amen to 50% of this. Running everywhere does get bothersome.

Well unless EA introduce some way in which you can teleport your self from A to B star trek style, transports are definitly the best solution.

The result from having no artillery is that no one wants to be commander in IO. Of course there is a minority who always apply for commander no matter what, but from experience, when it becomes obvious the round cannot be won, the commander resigns and starts fighting, meaning the demise of your team increases that little bit more. Commanders get bored without artillery, even if it would be a nerfed down version.

All in all I think they should forget BF2 now and concentrate on another Battlefield modern combat game, learn from BF2 mistakes and come up with a darn good new game.

BF2 is dead now, I hardly enjoy the game anymore and overall, it's the players that ruin the IO mode (because they have the abbility to do so), every single IO server I join all I hear is nades exploding everywhere, people jumping like crazy, hardly anyone is using guns, it's all nades nades nades... it's just stupid.

I was all hyped fo IO mode to get away from tanks raping every spawn point and it still can be a very enjoyable option (IO) when you get together with friends and have a decent spam-free game.

              BF2 is dead.

You would have had a chance if you didn't start your poorly worded arguement with this crud.

I would have had a chance at what? Post was a comment not an argument. I think the game needed a change they gave it to us. I myself will get a few more hrs in where as I may have just walked away. I agree with many of you ideas but doubt they could be added. I hate medics as much as the next guy but they are part of the game, I am a support whore love that RPK and nades.

I'm for transport vehicles as long as the weapons are on par with small arms. 249s should be hung outa' the blackhawk, etc.

While I see your point; I say if someone is willing to get bored as commander simply because they don't have artillery to play with... well, they probably aren't fit for the commander position in the first place. Sadly it's a position that requires finding pleasure in the overall victory, not small conditions during a match.

Any decent player would think the game is dead after playing IO 24/7 64 player Karkand servers.

IO is rubbish. That is a fact. Why was your time?

A simple IO mode fix exists that will remove all popularity to stat padders. Pretty simple - in IO mode no single action should be worth more than 1 point. So kills in IO are worth 1 point and revives are also 1 point. That'll put the points in line with regular BF2 where they blong and thus nobody will play IO as a result.

I'm not so much concerned with putting the points in line. I'm secretly trying to promote a ranked "Vehicle Lite" mode. Ooops? Secrets out?

You're right to a degree. Making everything count as 1 point would clear out about 33-50% of the IO crowd. A lot of the draw is the easy points. You have to think about those who just look for a more CS like game though. They wouldn't be bothered by point changes.

Look! as far as im concerned let all the whores play IO ,Its good to keep them all in one place, away from the players that play for teamwork and not stats.

                              Here's a change I want :

                              - Adjust ticket ratio on player limit, not map size

That'd way people could play 32 players on 16 pl maps, 64 on 32 etc. and not have rounds last just 5 minutes, resulting half of your playtame being taken by loading maps + waiting for rounds to start. It'd be awesome for vanilla, and probably would help IO to make transition to 16 plr maps instead of 64 players

And it'd fix "high points" servers at the same time, if anybody cares about those anyway

Actually, just dump the ticket ratio regulation altogether. I doubt majority really gives a **** whether some guy has 50, 500 or 5000 listed as their best round
