Whoa you use a mouse?!!! How do you do those spins around flags without loosing altitude? Probably a nub question but yeah! I can never seem to spin around fast enough to line up shots either.

i can see that ur tv shots are alot better since the first video . u know wat u should do in ur next video? u should go in a server where theres lots of chopper competition ill give u one, MiA, RAID, those are good, and make a video about multiple target, chopper dogfight along with keeping the floor clean. i cant make one since my fps is bad enough already.

I play on MiA often enough: a few days ago, I doubled up with thecop999 (or something like that) and tore the place apart. Good times...

Yo just seen both your movies, was not that impressed by the first one. But I must say the second is better.

Yeah, Dalian is boring and with a lack of targets, it can be a less than stellar experience for both soloer and viewers.

I think I will try to look around more my self, cheers for the tip.
Also you seem to have the same problem as me (and everyone else I guess)...the TV-guided just dont fire on the worst moments (my record is 6 out of 7 missiles blanc fired/did not reload/did not came out/went trough the chopper).

I feel your pain. Those are the bugs I keep getting:

- doesn't reload...
- doesn't fire (doubleload bug)
- fires but remains in original screen (making it uncontrollable)
- fires but does an incredible curve for no reason...
- fires normally... after delaying for a second! (I'm usually not that patient)
- fires normally but doesn't register a hit on what normally should...

I remember this one time, I was soloing against a good chopper duo and while I was avoiding their shots, mine were always bugging! I must've gotten 4 or 5 bugs in a row before finally hitting my shot. It's really frustrating because as a solo pilot, you depend on them to work...


As for the key bindings: I use one button to switch between pilot/gunner seats (no altering game documents) right click to go to gunnerview and left to fire, how many do you use and which ones?

Spacebar (Mouselook) and CTRL (Enter/Exit) aside, I use the default buttons with higher sensitivities for the Yaw/Pitch and overall sen.

Thing you'll need to change: You can obviously handel the chopper and the TV-guided so please let other people take off from the helipad......you know how innoing it is to be shot on it.

Depriving the other team of vehicles is key to being helpful: I understand how frustrating it is, but if I wanted to force heli battles, I'd still participate in TWL ladders. I make sure they can't bother our team one way or another but as a general rule, I let them get airborne before initiating any kind of action...

And as last I would like to see you fly on the map Shari (my favourite) and find a server with some more people who can give you some resistance (maybe some higher ranks instead of 1 Colonel 1 first sargeant and a load of lower ranks).

But do keep it going.

In my experience, rank is generally not consistent with skill. I would love to play on "busier" servers, but keep in mind that I want to record myself soloing... and it does me no good to fly one minute alone, get rammed and return to the pad with 4 or 5 other hopefuls.

As for the map suggestion, I'll definitely consider Sharqi: I'm hoping to add some MGing to the next one so it might be a lot of fun!

Ah, you are using keyboard to fly copters, right? Ok, that explains it a lot. You should see what a chaos is occuring here when I try to shoot solo missiles. Keyboard, Joystick and my good old mouse are twisted on each other, copter is like a fan and I'm getting dizzy before missile is on it's way. As you can comprehend, I don't hit too often

I use a joystick for flying and switching seats and guide it with my mouse, just takes practice.

About those TV bugs I don't think they are going to be fixed in the 1.4 what-the-hell-is-taking-them-so-long patch. Has anyone heard anything about it being fixed ?

Could be a last-second redirection, hitbox f*ck up, lag... ****, could be a lot but yeah... I've had some of those. On the flip side, a lot of shots people took on me seemed like misses and of course, I blow up when they're supposed to be 5 meters behind me. Weird stuff sometimes but hey, that's BF2... :)

I've pretty much mastered everything in the chopper.

I fly with the mouse, and i tv and gun pretty well. The only problem i do have is switching from first to second seat and shooting the tv missle at the same time.

I noticed you sometimes fire hellfire missles before you switch seats, is this because your are spamming your fire key?

Also, could you post your controls/pm them to me. Im comfortbable with my current config, but i am interested in seeing yours.

I am familiar with the technique but I usually avoid placing myself in situations where infantry can easily get to me: my primary goal is to destroy all armor and helicopters to give our ground troops an easier time going one-on-one with theirs... and we usually have the benefit of armor as well, so they can't complain.

Yes, I do the switch and click so fast that I sometimes accidentally fire off a hydra in the process.

As for the control scheme, everything is exactly the same as defaults aside from using the spacebar for looking around and ctrl for entering/exiting the chopper.
