Re: Beefing up Transport Choppers on all sides?
Humm.. Beefing up traspot chops? For what? More Chop whoreing? LOL. Its only realy going to help USA with the black hawk.. and getting ashore. If they want people to stop bitching about transport chops they should either take away the mini guns on the black hawk or give the mini gun to every other chop. My real beef is with sam sites... Come on jets just dont respect the sam site. Either cut up or they just bomb the sam sit into the ground...

Hahahaha! :laugh:Originally posted by TurnipEither decrease the damage and buff the armor, or increase the armor and nerf the damage. That is how balance works.Leave a comment:

I think they should leave the armor and repair rate as is (or, maybe even make it only repairable at a base) and put the miniguns back the way they were in the original release. Then things would be as they should.
I was the 2nd Bn 160th SOAR's (Night Stalkers) Logistics NCOIC from 1993 to 97 and was in the unit from 90 to 97 and had the opportunity to fly in and gun in a couple different versions of the Blackhawk (Little Birds and Chinooks too) during range operations. I've also been to many live fire capabilities exercises. So, I know exactly what these aircraft are capable of.
The hawks have virtually no armor, except for kevlar blankets lining the interior of the aircraft to protect crew and passengers and kevlar floorboards and seats to protect the pilots. So, I'm fine with leaving the armor alone.
The big equalizer was (in the old version) and still should be the awesome destructive power of the minis. Yes, you CAN use it like a hose and mow things down! YES, it WILL kill (with enough concentrated fire) APCs and anything smaller. What makes the armor a non-factor is the fact that no vehicle or person sporting anything smaller than a 25MM automatic cannon would DARE squeeze off a round against a Blackhawk, because once their position was determined...it would mean INSTANT DEATH!!!
The only things that sould be able to easily kill a Blackhawk are attack choppers and jets. Next would be APCs then tanks, but only if you're stupid enough to fly right in font of their gun at a pretty low altitude. The tanks guns ARE NOT artillery tubes as EA would have you believe from some of the rediculous elevations I've seen tanks shoot down aircraft from. Last would be AA and AT.Leave a comment:

How do you expect to hit it with 3 consecutive AT rockets, I dont care how much teamwork you have this is god damn hard. Unless they are parked or something, but people dont do that when the BH has awsome guns they just stay way back and rape people from a distance.
I dont know if you just call this abuse, or if this is what your planning to do with it.Leave a comment:

Wow...at least one person who understands what I say... this is not some sort of Rambo style singleplayer shooter. TEAMWORK is they key to success.Originally posted by EliteRazgriz666Well if u have a coordinated team it is in fact very easy...
It is a TRANSPORT chopper.
This quote, I don't know where it is originally from, (just copied it out of one of the above posters), I find very funny. "The guns provide some defense". The guns provide ZERO defense. And yes, it IS a transport. But you should see it more like a flying APC, that's what it actually is. People just don't get it, they only see "oh I was killed again running as single trooper with my AK towards an APC/Blackhawk... it's like soooo unfair :'(" . The reason why these vehicles have such firing capabilties is that they are welcome targets in r/l aswell as in BF2 because of the high number of personel carried and therefore they need to be able to protect the passengers by being able to fight those who want to harm them. Why can't we get over it? Because this is just another nerf fail among the many others, and it's time to fight back those who consantly whine for weaker vehicles and whine to get them as they should be again. And we are the ****ing majority... just look at the goddamn poll... why can't you get over the fact that this is not Counterstrike where everyone uses the same weapon (AK47/M4) and has the same chances against everyone else?Originally posted by TalusThat's what it should be used for. The guns provide some defense. Yeah, they're not great but they should NOT have been as powerful as they were in v1.0. That thing was god-mode.
Man, why can't you guys get over this?
You want a weapons platform? Get in a tank or an attack chopper.Leave a comment:

Unless 1 AT rocket could take the thing out theres no way your going to hit it more than once. Your either going to die, they arent going to be close enough to hit anyways, or they will just simply fly away and keep on repairing. I remember, I play alot of AT and remember spending alot of time trying to kill the things. Its not as simple as spawning as AT.Leave a comment:

I dunno but the vehicles in SF seem messed anyway, since when did the SAS or insurgents use main battle tanks and APC's.

Well, first of all, it wasn't cheap. People were, like always, just too lazy to spawn as AT and take it out. The same thing with Karkand and all the other maps when people say "omg hax the vehicles are too strong we must nerf them". The real thing is people just don't want to adapt to the situation and choose their kit accordingly, that's why they complain, and when they saw it's easy because DICE just nerfs everything for them then, they started complaining about every vehicle... and will continue until it's a 1/1 K/D ratio for vehicles... sad.Originally posted by Turnipalot of people didnt like the last patchs because the blackhawk was cheap, now people are telling them to buff it. You either make it do alot of damage and get taken out easier, or give it small amounts damage and hard to kill. Since people would get mad getting killed easy when flying, and since it is a transport helicopter this was probably the best course of action.
Do you really think that on maps like Wake or Gulf of Oman, armor means anything? When there are so many things from the ground and air shooting at you, the only way to protect yourself is to shoot back, which is stil impossible. And people realised that, that's why they voted either for guns & armor or guns only. DICE just seems to either not listen to the majority or don't have time now to change it.Originally posted by TurnipAnyways all in all no one should be pissed off with more defence instead of offence, while it may not do alot of damage it is hard to take out and that makes it balanced.
I never complained either, but ffs they could have nerfed the armor to how it was... constrained repairing but NOT take out the only real defense it had... the miniguns... and yea, they are effectively taken out actually... even another seat instead where you could shoot out with your assault rifle would be more reasonable atm... again, very sad.Originally posted by EliteRazgriz666I neva complained about the blackhawk when it was a slaughterhouse, IMO they should have kept it as it was but mayb increase power of the other transport choppers to balance it out.
They weren't since they took away the feature of everyone in a vehicle counting for flag capture, so I don't see any problem here... the only thing is that [DICE]CKMC actually never replies to any of my posts which imo have valid points... they're being totally ignored and that pisses me off a bit, since I'm even with the majority of players here (obviously, according to the poll)Originally posted by TurnipWell I also dont think they want the battle to totally revolve around transport choppers on maps like mashtuur either.Leave a comment:

I think, or actually I hope, they were just doing those quick changes so that it's at least a little better and will edit the helos in following patches when they have more time for those gameplay issues (like the J10 thing too)Originally posted by DandredThank you for your answer, but you seem to have missed a very big point.
The thread title says "Beefing up Transport Choppers on all sides?"
The answer to that question has been in favor of beefing up of guns, and beefing up guns and armour on all sides.......
Yes! Beef up the guns and armour. 38.31%
Only beef up the guns. 36.4 %
Did you miss that?
What you did was...........
Only Beef up the armour. 15%
The thread question didn't mention anything about "re-introducing the powerful blackhawk" it was Beefing up Transport Choppers on all sides.Leave a comment:

Thank you for your answer, but you seem to have missed a very big point.Originally posted by [DICE]CKMCIn all seriousness re-introducing the powerful blackhawk was never going to happen without similar upgrades to the other two transport choppers to give them equal strength. Which would then be called into question with the different seating arrangments in the other choppers.
