After all this I still think they should add two more server options:

Option 1: 'Vehicle-lite' ranked server option:

• Replace all tank/apc spawns with Heavy Jeeps
• Replace all AA vehicle spawns with Light Jeeps
• Remove Jets
• Replace Littlebird and Attack Helicopters with Transport Helicopters

Option 2: 'Vehicle-neutered' - same as above except all remaining vehicles have their gun mounts removed.


This way ALL kits on ALL maps in ALL sizes can still play.

Look, I'll tell it how it is...

In IO mode u get tons of points & u don't have to worry about spawncamping armour, arty, choppers or jets. U don't really need to worry about being killed, as most of the time u don't stay dead long due to all the medics being able to reach & revive u with their amazing long sprint.

Sitting in a tank spawnraping was great fun for the tank driver. Bombing spawnpoints was great fun for the pilot. Churning spawnpoints was great fun for the chopper crews. The people they pounded incessantly will be the ones playing IO.

My clan plays all modes effectively. We like IO too. It's a refreshing change. It gives us points for live training for the infantry wars we already play.

As a clan tactician, I have already devised ways around the problems of supposedly invulnerable medic squads. They're for use in clan wars only. You just need to apply some thought into it.

If u miss the infantry on some servers then u know the reason for that.

If u want a strong friendly fight, whether IO or regular mode, then come to the UK-C server any night of the GMT week. IP 193.93.45.145:16567. But u better come equipped. Bring your whole clan if u like. It's all good fun & teamplay is invited.

After seeing their patches I really don't think DICE Canada are capable of inventing a shoulder fired Stinger that wouldn't crash the game.

I used to love firing an at missile into the passenger compartment of the BH, all the engy's would topple out dead. I also used to position the Abrams or T90 on the hillside for barrel elevation and whore blackhawks, up to 6 kills at a time.

No...please don't try to get them to add that. what we'd end up with is a shoulder mounted smurf launcher that deviated from an ememy only to team kill half your team and then crash you to desktop.. STOP THE PATCHING!

Dice should speak to the POE modders about how they did it and they might get it right them :)

Seriously though they shoudl have had an option that just eliminated the armour/helo's/planes and left in the jeeps etc. Also we wouldnt need the extra running speed. DICE next patch please a no armour option. It would mean all the maps are then playable properly (and fun) with a mainly infantry option. Dont take the machine guns off the jeeps either as they wont make that much difference to the game (tow's own jeeps).

Brilliant. For the complainicks, deep down your fears as always are unbiased, I've said it before and will again, this fear mongering about "will split the community", and some dribble towards the start of the thread about 1/3 this and 1/2 that is crap, utter crap.

The Spec Forces Add on whiners went.. "whinge whine whinge will split the community"

Result, everything is going on as before, no wucking furries.

You know what IO does? Sorts the vechicle whores from the real players. Don't gets me wrong, i likes the vechicle, but this IO is a sorely needed aspect of the game. THATS RIGHT, ANOTHER ASPECT OF THE GAME.

Hell no! Bring as much variation as you can. Vechicles or not, i have an awesome time, and own well.

Apparently I'm an armour whore, check my stats link. I've played around 8 hours of IO now. On Jalalabad tonight I went support, as squad leader. I spent the whole round lying behind a bunch of rocks. When I wasn't spamming grenades, I was spamming ammo packs, I pkm'd a few stragglers who tried to go wide. I got gold on that round, and you're right, it was a talentless act.

Umm, this new "aspect" of the game has always been part of the game, you do realise this is a BF2 forum do you not? How does this 'sorting' manifest itself in the score sheet? On my last session I was in the bling for around 1 in every 5 rounds (64 player), and usually as assault class.

In your first sceenshot the top guy on your team is indeed support. But you have the same team score yet he has 24 more kills then you. And the guy below you is support with -1 team points and 21 more kills then you. What are you trying to prove? In your second one there are 16 or so people with more kills then you. Again what are you trying to prove? To me it seems that you can score team points with the best of them. As assault I would take a guess that they are mostly flag cap and cap assist points. I would also guess that you were revived many times while on a flag by a medic who without, you wouldn't have capped as many flags. I am not trying to flame or be a ****. I just feel you argument is not holding water right now.

I dont necessiarly think there needed to be a infantry mode... The problem with infantry compared to vehciles IMO is weapons are utterly useless half the time. The guns feet like bb guns or something worse. 4 shots to the chest with a sniper rifle and still live and 5 shots to the head with an ak47 and they still live, and wow a whole magazine with a pistol. And no I dont have horrible aim. Reason I wont buy BF2142 is because I KNOW the guns are going to be utterly useless and it will be the same vehicle hell BF2 is. BF2 is fun but the weapons taking ahundred hits to kill someone (ok im exaggerating... a little) just spoils the fun for me. They just needed to increase all guns damage by atleast 25 to 50% and make sniper rifles 1 shot kill from lower waist to head, not counting the limbs and add a breathing pattern to it. Its rediculous when Im 2 feet behind someone and I shoot them in the head with an M24 twice and they dont die. Horrible detection.
