Infantry only is cool, doesnt honestly affect anything, if people want to play IO then let them, dont worry about it, i think when the developers were creating the game, they decided to make it an all around game, and better balanced, and to make more money, add that mode.

There were infantry only servers before the mode was even thought up! They just didn't use the vehicles. And if they did an admin would tell them off or kick them. All Dice are doing is getting rid off those noobs who go on the old infantry only servers grab a tank and ****ing whore away!

Infantry only is the worst Idea EA has had yet. Its not even close to being balanced because on almost every map there is one side that very rarely wins. A good example of this is the Jolly Bob map. Try playing the 64 player map and being USMC, not only will you not win but you will die a lot from all the granades. It, the IO mode, just makes it easier for the new players to score points. All you have to do is get close to the USMC and spend the round close to a supply guy tossing granades. I will admit I wanted another game mode of play but this wasnt it.
The only thing that might help this mode of play is limit it to the 4 player maps and allow up to 64 players to be on it. Honestly (pun intended) I think the best answer is to remove this game mode, it just gives the people useing macros and cheats a big advantage, nothing else. . . . . . . .Red

I say it are people brains of umsc who choose sniper kit all time.

If you go left form the umsc base and conquer the big rock on the open field
then you can eassily rush from there and take the spawnpoints under fire, but the freaking people can't even choose another kit like the sniper kit.
so advancing to a flag is really hard.

but no problem most of the time I make an anti sniper squad and kick all the snipers so.
a big squad full aussalt/support/medics does the job.

oh guess that why we get all those nerfes and never get fixes.

and if yu don't like it STFU and play CQ or are the stats so much important to some people.

I think most people with less abilities would pwn you.
because what the skills to sit in a tank and kill everybody..
I think those people are afraid to take there gun out in the first place.

Well everyone has to realize that this thread spawned 35 pages of responses and therefore mnay people have lots to say about it.

Most of them seemingly against it. BF2 "infantry only" should just be renamed to BF2 "easy mode", because on the most basic level that's all it really is.

Stat padding all the way to funky town on this one. It may be fun at first only being able to stay alive for 2 mins. or less with the continual deathstorm of PKM and M95 lead storm, but as many others have said, the medics are the ones who hold the balls of this game mode with a cold iron fist.

EA and DICE should have implemented modes of Capture the flag and a mode in which only ground vehicles spawn, all vehicles spawn 10 times faster and there are 5 tanks per side. (Like armored Fury?)

Like available in Desert Combat the best mod I have ever seen.

If you don't like this mode then don't play it. It is just simple decision.
IO is fun and if you think other wise then you must suck on ground. IO brings what the best in this game: teamwork, communication, NO TKing. I can play in any vehicle in this game but IO is most relaxing time I have in this game. It takes some skills to pown the ground.

So to all those IO haters. What Is Your problem with it??? Don't like it? go to regular servers and just forget that this mode exists.

IO mode appeals to the Karkand masses. If you want to play Infantry, buy Counter-Strike.

IO attracts to absolute worst of BF2, like flies to ****. 12 year olds (as proven above), claymore/grenade/prone spammers, point whores... all of them are attracted to the IO servers.

The good thing? Regular servers are filled with less pre-pubescent tards.

it must of took you a long time to go through every bf2 server to get that kind of accurate reading.

get real type infantry only in bf2 browser and you will see lots of players enjoy it.

ive played it a few times it's not to bad.

the sniper turns in to the j10 of IO whitch some players cant compete with.

it all good fun.

let player's enjoy them self instead of insulting them for there game play taste.

it's more likely that Vehicle server's are cheaper.

It's way to easy for expert plane and tank drivers to kill anything. AT rockets suck and it takes at least 2 rockets to take out a tank. pretty sad.

Infantry only is balanced. yes some kits are useless. but AT is useless in most cases since the rockets are pathetic.
