I don't see what half of this bitching is about, it's simple. Make the hitpoints a server side option, that way you can keep the people who like it how is happy and the people who want it like normal will be happy. All the anti-infantry people, or the "go play css" people, it's even simpler for you. If you don't like the game mode then don't play it, just because you don't like the idea doesn't mean you have to attempt to ruin it for everyone else.

It is the opposite of that. Because you don"t like the bf2 gameplay you dont have to attemp to ruin it for everyone else that enjoy the game has it is, with vehicles, and the majority of the comunity always wants bug fixes and not more nerfing and changin of the game. People like the game has it is and thats why they bought it. They dindt buy a game based on vehicles and a gameplay to at the end of it, getting that changed. the j10 - f35 problem was in one of the patches. what about when they put the crazy AA? What about 1.3. The worst patch of them all. Bf2 consume more memory,have less fps , server crashes , client crashes etc. And know this. PAtch 1.5 would be like 600MB and have fixes for 1.4 patch and bring new bugs so wait for 1.6 700MB. Hope that for christams they hit the 1 gb patch. That would be a record. Is the new bussines. Buy a game today. Get the finish version in a year or two.

The hope for bug fixes only is gone. This beta thing was for fixing new content not the bugs. Dice already know of the bugs reading in all the forums. This beta was for putting this infantry only mode.

Bf2142 would be the same thing when they start making patches. More bugs and nerfing instead of fixing.

How about a BUGS FIX ONLY MODE for dice canada when making a patch? Please EA enable this before DICE kills bf2.

Yea I didn't buy battlefield 2 so I could play infantry only. I bought it for the vehicles the big maps and the 64 player servers. Battlefield 2 is about vehicles and taking them out of the game would be like counterstrike. I like hte option of keeping infantry only unranked. I mean you still get all your unlocks and get to play your infantry only.

Just do yourself a favour and don't reply, that made little sense and your logic is way off. How is it that a game mode which is optional for you to play ruins the game for everyone who likes it the way it is. I'm happy with the game the way it is, however i welcome the infantry only mode for a change. I'll still play the majority of the game on normal servers but will also play the infantry only for abit of fun. How this effects you i have no idea at all, and neither do you apparently.

Wtf? Think about what your saying, how does a few servers running infantry only affect you, as a vehicle whore in the slightest? Clearly you never said the thread which had a shed load of signatures ASKING for Infantry Only then?

People have asked for infantry only so they got it, but we didn't get it how we envisaged, that is just infantry only, no vehicles atleast no tanks/APC's, no arty but nobody asked for messing with hp, or weapon damage, or spawn times.

Light vehicles for transport I wouldn't have a prob with.

Remember this is optional people and the people who wanna play IO and asked for it they can play it, remember this is a good thing, less noobs trying to use vehicles who never could anyway, gives everyone else who is not playing infantry only the chance to use vehicles and those who can't use them or don't want to can stick to IO.

Its a step in the right direction but nobody asked for it to be implemented this way. Just make it the same as it is but without vehicles, no messing with the weapon damage, hp, or spawn times. If you don't like IO don't play it, its really that simple.

Remember also its a beta and they are asking for our opinion so this is not set in stone.

If I wanted to play "infantry only mode" I'd go play Counterstrike. Better engine, better netcode, better weapon balance, better hit detection. I'm sorry but if you want a no-infantry server, make some infantry only maps. Once you stray in to infantry only territory, you lose your defining characteristic. I'm well aware it's optional. But flat out tons of these Karkand 24/7 will be going infantry only to further help pad stats. Now medic squads will be virtually invincible without a skilled APC or tank driver to catch them out in the open and cut them down. Another issue is of course, player statistics. Now you'll only see people cramming on to medic only servers for stat padding. Why introduce this, when this is almost exactly what you've been banning for on knife and pistol servers?

Planewhore, please come down out of the sky. See those little guys running around down there that you're dropping your bombs on, they're called infantry and Battlefield 2 is a good 80% about squad on squad infantry combat. I know it's not your cup of tea to pick up a rifle and trudge across the map *gasp* on foot to the next flag, but someone has to do it. Fear not, I’m sure you would still have plenty of people to drop your bombs on even if DICE made a true version of "Infantry Orientated" for BF2.

so messing the game around its fine we asked for no cars not freaking 30 second respawn and all that crap i play fine on infantry servers right now thanks i dont need anything else except for you to remove cars thats IT.

I would venture to say that about 90% of all BF2 players actually ENJOY the game that they are playing. I can't even think about whats going through ur head as u play the game...ur gamers...not beta testers..when u bring up the server screen...do u say "hmm...which server will i go into today?" or "what the hell is my refresh button...i must complain to forums". Jebus christ...u guys give me a headache. Its BF2, its a game, its life, deal with it.
