ah the ghost boats on mashtuur, and kkand

I was once playing on kkand with a friend. We were racking up some kills when we noticed after a while that some sniper were setting up some nasty claymore. My buddy then told me to spot a boat whenever I see a clay so he wouldn't run into it when he was following me. We did this for a while, and every time he spotted a boat I knew a clay was somewhere in that area.

    worked quiet well :)

Agreed on 'spotting' as soldier or leader.
If I can't make kill with a shot immediately lean toward helping teammates.

Better commanders spot important threats outside of UAV range.
Heads up Warning on armor, etc.

Nice on Karkand for example to scan occasionaly for the couple of guys invariably sneak for suburb or factory points.

It really ****es me off when I walk round a corner into an APC that nobody on the whole damn team bothered to spot, even when maybe 5 people can see it.

Spotting? Hell I do it out of habit, always have. I never really used to fly jets until about a month ago, but I've always spotted them just because I like the sound of my own manly gruff USMC voice, but the importance of having air targets spotted for you when you're flying is pretty vital, as is spotting ground armour targets.

Spotting an area where you see shots coming from or think an enemy might be will also get him shown on your mini map or confirm that nothing was there.

Haha, ingenious. Always chuckle worthy to hear that deadpan 'Enemy boat spotted' on a waterless map. Unless of course someone spams it and you want to punch them in the face repeatedly.

Yeah this is useful, so long as you don't do it 10 times with no results.

I spot all the time but unfortunately, most people don't care. The only people that can really make a difference when you spot are the pilots, but we all know how useful they can be.

I will spot everything when I'm a commander, but only armour and apc's when I'm regular infantry, especially when I'm not an anti-tank.

I spot, but I've noticed something. Not recently but a while ago. I know you all know this but I"m asking anyway.

Even if an enemy is at a location, if you spot them while your are not in view of them (looking at them), the spot comes up directly at your location. Correct?

So it's probably not a good idea to see serveral vehicles, then hunker down and call them in (so to speak). Because they'll all show up at your location not their actual location on the map. Correct?

I try and spot things this way, because the other way is a warning but can give conflicting information. Correct?

A bit OT, a fun thing to do is to spot alot of fake snipers and pretend you are in a sniper duel when you're waiting on a jet. Lots of people fall for it.
