The servers I join are usually around 75 or so. My ping in the game is usually in the low to high 40 range. That is using VoIP as well.

I haven't really watched my ping much while I am actually in the game. I have to check when I get home but I think the lowest ping servers I see in my browser are 50's. there's alwasy that bunch that say 0. wtf is up with that?

I like to play at 50ms or less... Can't site any scientific proof (although I bet someone has done a study on it), but there seems to be a difference between a ping of 150ms and 50ms... One Tenth of a second. I "think" I notice the difference. Two equally skilled players going one on one with one player pinging 150 and the other at 50 ---> the 50ms player is going to have an edge IMHO.
If you're under 100 you're probably ok, but I'd shoot for 50 or under.

I shoot for sub 100 and typically get around 30-40 on US servers.

People put too much weight on ping I think. I played on some German server while I was home sick from work at like 9 in the morning and my ping was in the mid-upper 100's and I did fine.

I really think that as long as your ping is CONSISTENT, and less than 200 or 300 you are in good shape. Its when it spikes all over the place that you have problems...

I do whatever I can to stay below 100 ms ping.

I'm on wireless, so it's pretty high latency to begin with .. so I try and keep it low due to variability.

I get normally 15 on a good day and 30 on a bad day.

My pings are about 17-23ms. Seems like anything <75 is very playable, but I do notice when it is a bit higher.

It won't be that much less. Remember the server can only go so fast, and your security software will limit how low your pings can go.

TC clan server i ping between 4-17ms
Straifright i get 15-35ms
