Most underrated: Vehicle mounted .50 cals. I constantly blows me away that people often don't even try to shoot down choppers with these handy 'ol dealers of death. Hell, I've put down planes with those suckers.

they eat choppers in seconds tad overpowered when loads of people use em on 64 player maps and u have a dumbass copilot that doesnt realise the worst enemy on the map are the damn cars!!

You do know that statistically, it is the EXACT same thing as the M24, the only difference statistically is that it has a 1 sec shorter reload time, so it's only really worth a unlock if you consistantly play MEC or PLA.

I don't know if that's correct or not. But a 1 second reload advantage on a sniper rifle when shooting at targets running in the open is a huge advantage. You can't reasonably expect to get a headshot on a running target but two chest shots is very doable. L96A1 is a sweet weapon. If I ever drop to the ground unexpectedly, I always look for the [L96A1] message to see who killed me.

By the way, it's good to see that there is a wide disagreement about which guns are the best. Sounds like DICE did a decent job of balancing. Would be a bad sign if everyone agreed. But I sure do miss the pre-patch sniper-rifle-like PKMs.

Its the same as the pumps but it is semi instead amd only holds 6 shells to compensate.

What guns do ou think are overrated and underrated? For me:
Overrated:
G36E, you can't go on a map without at least 6 people using them, not that much better than M16 in reality
G36C, it's an amazing gun, but people still make it sound better than how it actually is
F2000, i dunno if it's still going strong, but back in the 1.2 patch and pre-1.2 patch days, it was used so much because it had a scope, and did enough damage to kill in 3 shots

Underrated:
G3, even after the accuracy was upped, it was still underrated and underused
M16, great overall gun, even with burst fire, doesn't matter, 900RPM burst is good enough in CQC against 600RPM full auto
MG36, my personal favorite gun, it's kinda overshadowed by PKM and other guns (G36E)
Pistol: Actually very accurate, and standing, crouching, or proning doesn't affect accuracy

I like the G3 and use it alot with assault but since unlocking the F2000 I go for this instead... can shoot better over range and has higher damage imo...

I agree AK-47 is underated. shame there are no real Chinese City maps. Best map to use it on is Wake when the US manage to cap some flags

I agree. All of the guns have their strengths and weaknesses, and players will understandably like the ones they are most comfortable with. It all depends on how you use the gun too. I know some people who like to use the L85 when they are a "sniping" medic and the G36E when they are an "assault" medic.

I initially thought that the pump shotguns were garbage, then I learned how to use them.:evil:

No kidding. I played a round on Wake last night, parked a FAV on the north beach in a good spot, and got 17 kills in a few minutes. Three or four boats, two Blackhawks, a couple of swimmers...and the icing on the cake was the Cobra that came gunning for me. I started tagging him not too long after he was off the carrier deck, and by the time he got into rocket range, he was smoking already...and dead a few seconds later. Luckily, his gunner was myopic, and the one TV missile he managed to fire hit the sand.

The mounted heavy MGs on the jeeps are death on a ritz, that's for sure.

My favorite rifle in the game is also one I don't see very often on people anymore, and I haven't gotten killed by one in ages....the G3.

The G3 does more damage than any other rifle in the game, including the F2000. Incidentally, I find the G3 to be very accurate even at long range, but I can't hit very well with the F2000 because of the crummy scope. I guess it all boils down to personal preference...if you feel that the gun in your hand is an infallible dealer of death, it will be.

Clearing things up, the G3 does 40 damage, the Fn2000 does 34, the 34 damage isenough for a 3 chest shot kill on an unarmored person, but not enough for a 4 chest shot kill on an armored person (only the G3 and AK47 can do that). Anyways, about the M24vs. L96, i always reload my sniper rifle, so that don't usually happen, anyways, ewhenever i do reload my rifle, it takes 5 seconds at the least (for the L96), and 6 secs at most (for the M24), and those 5-6 secs are more than enough for a medic to lay down a medic bag, or that target to run away or stuff like that.

Underrated= RPK 74, I choose this over the PKM anyday of the week.
Trees, I've seen trees take out more choppers and jets than AA, jeeps and Anti-Tank kits combined...

For good infantry fights with the AK47, play SF. Leviathan, Devil's Perch, and Iron Gator all feature the SEALs vs. the MECSF, and the MECSF medics get the AK47 as their default rifle.
