This is really lame. Every time a new patch comes out, and it causes major issues, the answer is a clean OS install or game install and full patches. Problem is, you have to do the patches before AND after EF installation. How many games do you all know of that require things like that?
I don't remember having to do a fresh install of any game, patch to a point, install expansions, patch the rest of the way. And of course, both of those patches have to be full patches, so about 800MB of downloading and installing. How has this game even survived this long? I get off work, networking gubment 'puters and training idiots to be responsible for the safety of our people, and then I have to work for about an hour just to play a GAME. Back to Oblivion for me. At least the enemies never cheat and crashes are for fixable reasons so far.

I resolved the "shy" server browser thingy by eventually cornering the varmits and adding them to my fav's.It took some doing to say the least.Did'nt think the little beasts would ever get tired but eventually persistance payed off.Since I can only get 7 or 8 servers with a playable ping anyway,the task was well worth the effort.

Now, that's doubly odd because after I installed 1.3 (full version, three times for good measure :p), my Refresh button disappeared. It's still there under the "Favorites" tab, but not under the standard server listing.

Maybe that's why you have no troubles... because yours really isn't updated to 1.3 fully. :p

OMG STOP WITH THE KARATE DOG CRAP!!! Anyone else getting the noisy advert at the top of this page?!?!

My server browser does report some funny numbers, but I haven't had the jumping servers that avoid you yet. I had a CTD problem when updating my AMD x2 driver. Seems I must have grabbed the wrong one!! w00ps. Even system admins make mistakes :)

but are you confusing your "update" button with your "refresh" button? My refresh disappeared, but my update button remains.

"Vanishing Servers" is a misconception of what is actually happening Wargimp.If they would bother to scroll to the bottom of the server list they would likely find the "vanished" server with a jaw dropping ping next to it.And yes,the refresh button only exists in the fav's list now.You can update only now in the main servers lists.

The jumping server thing is extremely annoying!

The lack of a refresh buton is mildly annoying, but not a game breaker.

Other than that i havent had problems with my incremental patch. So hopefully we quickly see a 1.31 patch for the jumping servers and then imo its all good.

Oh can someone PLEASE tell me what CTD stands for??!

Well, this is (hopefully) a soon-to-be useless tip once all the servers restart, but I did find that when you click on a server and its ping goes to 4xxxxxx, if you click on it again before it moves to bottom (you have a couple of seconds), it will update again with the proper ping.

Yup, refresh is gone. Update works fine.

Still, I'm not getting servers vanishing when I click on 'em. They don't even drop down the list, even when they report absurd pings. I can see everyone in servers too... unless one of those silly pings comes up, then I just click again and everything is fine.

Dunno dude.Might simply be related to system differences,running processes and wot not.Who knows?I know I spent the better part of an hour chasing 7 of the rascals around until I got them in my fav's then it was all good.No CTD's,no unusual lag,or any of the other malady's I've seen others posting.I did the encremental update btw.

My status as a mod makes it generally unexceptable for me to call posters things like "tards" or "morons", but if you look a scant two posts up you will see that I fully admited to having a brainfart and mistaking my update button for my refresh.

Woot! I had my first CTD under 1.3!

I was in-game. Things were very hectec. Then Boom. Everything quites and I'm looking at a black screen that slowly started drawing in my desktop (after consiterable HD moaning).
My first thought was, damn... ain't I feeling like an idiot.
Hmm. Lookit that. I forgot to turn my virus check off and it had done an annoying pop-up.

My own damned fault.

I can play all other maps fine except Mashtuur. I can sometimes get into Mashtuur. How would you explain a random CTD at the exact same moment I load this specfic map? It's obviously the patch that did it.

Is it possible that the 'modified content' error has been replaced by a CTD with the latest patch?

It was normal pre-1.3 for people to get the 'modified' error on just one map.

Do you still get the CTD when you connect to a linux server?
