No one is saying that you aren't having problems.
What we're saying is that it's very likely that your problems have nothing to do with Dice/EA suckage. Rather than burning your time being mad at Dice, you would be much better off trying to figure out what is wrong and attempting to resolve it.

OK, I'm late to this thread, but you're way off base Wargimp. I've been playing this game from the start never having problems with CTD's. Now, with this patch BAM first thing outta the gate I get them. I've not changed my system one bit. Your statement that it's the user fault (paraphrased) it completely without merit. I'm sure I'm not the only one experiencing CTD's with this patch that had zero problem with it before the patch. It most certainly is the fault of the programmers - not the player.

Hehe, I was stopping playing quake, too. I was a hardcore-quaker since quake1 was released but q4 sucked so much.
But hey: In this way I discover BF2 for my self :laugh:
Such a nice game: Stop whining n00bs, patch 1.3 made the game a lot better than it was!

Both games are great examples of "it could be worse". T2 was fantastic, but they never resolved the dreaded Unidentified Instruction (UI) bug that inevitably dumped you out to desktop.

Unhandled Exception. T2 was also a good example of "please do not mess with the gameplay in patches".

I loaded the incremental patch, like I always do, I had one CTD and that was it, overall the gameplay is not bad. People just need to quit whinning and play the game and if you don't like it play something else, but the hard core BF2'ers will stay.... Great job Wargimp!!

Its reall easy to tell people to calm down or to quit whining. Most of the posts I see that are whining are the people with the CTD problems and all I can say is do you blame them? I mean come on....If the game ran fine before the patch and then you patch and these problems start happenning there is only one conclusion to draw....you cant deny it.

I myself have had no problems what so ever other than the buggy server browser...thats enought to **** off the pope on easter sundaY!! Other than than the game has run fine me.

Anywho good luck to all those that have problems.

Good job Wargimp! I agree whole-heartedly. My only CTD is when clicking "join" sometimes. I have jsut gotten used to hitting "esc".

You do realize that your going to be crucified for it though, right? The patch seems good to me, it's just needs some tweaking.

a) No vechicle drops on runways or helipads. It's just lame and irritating.
b) Bring back the refresh button in the GUI
c) Fix the ability to see who's in the server when you click the server name

Other than that, it's a good patch.

No man your not a minoraty, thing is you never get a 100 posts sayin "1.3 Patch is great" all you ever get is complaints not compliments.

Wargimp hit the nail so square on the head I wanna give him a medal.

Oh and War I think you should make a 1.3 Sticky post at the top and if people have issues with it they post in there or they get their post/thread deleted so as not too over populate the discussion board with same post 100 times by 100 different authors.

for one thing,hes lucky his works fine "good for you wargimp" but it still dosnt deny the FACT that alot of people are having problems with this patch.
ive not had the CTD problem as of yet but had some problems an know of many that also had major problems with it.
the problems ive had with the patch is the game will lock up on me or it comes up CONNECTION PROBLEM.
now from what ive read in various forums(not just this one) that a mast majority of players are having a problem's one way or another due to the crappy patch.
so im sorry to say for you to make a thread in which it points the finger of fault at the customer is just stupid.(i dont mean you your self is stupid just the comment).
this patch since it release has caused more problems that any of the other patch's put together.
ive noticed a very big drop in players also since this patch arrived.
i personaly think EA/DICE is killing off the game they keep changing to many things in the game dynamics.
i for one will be waiting about 2months before i buy there latest games just to make sure they dont run as crappy an buggy as the original vBF2.
with every new patch they release they loose more an more of the community due to half arse'd effects in there programing.
what i want to know was this patch ever tested before release?
i mean come on ITS TERRIBLE.
an to see if this patch is good just look how many complaints there are compared to how good it is threads.
complaints win hands down FACT.
the programmers need to go back a learn abit more programing skills before releasing crap like this.

Wargimp, it's a good ting youv'e put together a nice post reguarding your opinions and facts. Although you can't/shouldn't just say to people who have bugs that they don't know how to run their computer. You could have someone who runs a computer than you, and because of that, they've had problems involving the new patch. I keep my computer freakin clean and maintained to the best of my ability. (spyware cleaners, tweaked for performance, diskeeper defragments regularly, etc) I've still had problems in the past. Whether it was when Norton wasn't working compatible with BF2, or whether I didn't install euro forces with a patch correctly. Problems happen, and it's the job of beta testers to make sure third party software will function correctly with bf2 and patches, etc.

Fact, some people have problems with the patch. Fact, other people dont have problems with the patch. Fact, everyones computers are combined with various GPUs, CPUs, RAM, harddrives, softwares, firewalls, etc. and various people will run into problems with that while other people won't.

oh yeah and how the crap do you install a patch incorrectly? You click install, and it installs. It's pretty freakin hard to install something like that incorrectly unless the developers of the game made the procedures different than the should have. Which happens frequently.

CTDs are happening hugely more often after the patch, and you and your two friends are hardly a representative sample of the community. Just because it doesn't happen to you doesn't mean it doesn't happen to other people. If you are pretending this is anybody else's fault than Dice's you sir are an idiot.
