I have gotten alot of kills as a co-pilot as well as the pilot, it always boils down to one thing....teamwork.

i love the laser guided bombs. Yes, they lock onto enemy vehicles, but you can guide them manually as well. Really handy to guide one under the roof of a garage someone may be hiding under, or they may spawn there.

Also, it's fairly easy to take down enemy helos with it. I've even gotten 1 enemy bomber with it, not on the ground, but in a dogfight. I hit him.

You do have to have a decent pilot, but that's rare.

When you are "GOOD" (or should I say "on a good day") you can "hook" that missile so far down, or to the side the pilot can't believe you made the kill

I learned to do that to "pi$$ off" smaktard pilots that would jerk the nose away any time you would get a lock, aiming sometimes so far to the side my cursur was locked to the side

depends on your pilot. With a good pilot, you can rack up kills like whoa.

I've seen some of our better pilots take their time flying around on a map like Clean Sweep and help guys get their airiel service ribbons flying in the 2nd spot - its insta-death (just like helo's TV missles) when you fly slow enough to lock onto things. We have a couple guys that can fly solo and take out the enemy UAV with it (the only weapon that takes out uav besides c4).

LGM kills with 1 (one, uno) shot.

Probably Battlefield 2 one of the most underused weapon if you ask me. You can fly over the beach in Oman in the start of the round and hit all 4 major vehicles, plus hit the flags. This will significantly improve the chances to push UMCS back to the carrier in the start of the round.

And its splash damage radius is so sweet. Perfect anti-infantry weapon.

A good duo, with a wingman in the fighter, will wreak more havoc than the chopper duo.

I'm starting to get the hang of the LG missiles, but I'd like to be more effective at manually guiding them, even without waiting for lock. The tough part is picking out targets on that grainy black and white screen... :)

Thanks for the tips. I went from thinking it's useless to No other way to play. The first Time I tried it I got first on my team. Would have got first overall If I hadn't joined in the middle of a game

it is THE most over powered seat in ALL the game
yes - u need a good pilot
and radio helps
but when we have it
it is THE BEST way to kill armor
requires the LEAST SKILL
and unless plane gets 'goofy'
ALL proper shots are KILLS - nearly 100% !!!

Actualy... you dont need to aim, they lock on to enemy vehicles. And you will only be abled to do much in the copilots seat if you use VoiP, otherwise, if the pilot takes his hands off the controls to answer... BOOM!

Or he can map the voip button to his joystick.

The TV guided missiles are awesome if you know how to use them. You don't have to have a lock to get kills, either. Click where you think the enemy are and you can get lots of kills that way.

If you are playing on a 64 server thats full there is a good chance you will get in first place by firing missles into a base every time you pass by.... No need to aim, just fire strait into the ground and BOOM, you'll probably get at least a few kills.

i also change views looking for aircraft in the area, potentially spotting bogeys.

lol.. i kinda use them like you would in the chopper. you know.. the 2nd seat switch trick... go up high, look @ a target switch seats, right click, lock fire. switch back... seems complicated, but its rather easier than said...

Dude! On Kubra Dam go from one corner of the map slam on the boosters then sit in the 2nd seat and glide to the other side picking up locks the whole way there lol.
