Useless hardly. The missles will lock on when you hold over a target long enough. If you have a decent pilot you can seriously own with them.

Here is how I line up when piloting:

First I make my runs longer on targets. For instance, if I pick up a target on the HUD that is off to the left but fairly close, I keep on flying past it. After I've gone past it for a bit, I make my turn back around so that the flight time back to the target is longer than the lock time for the missle. This allows me to get lined up on the target before we get to locking distance.

Second, I get some altitude and when I see the target appear on the HUD, I begin a dive on it keeping the gunsite slightly above the target. The missles take a few seconds to achieve lock and when fired, they go forward a bit before they start to dive down. If you are flying level , you can end up too close to the target when the missle locks and it'll miss because it won't have enough time to drop down.

That is what I do and it seems to work well for me. I am interested in reading what others do as well.

Pretty much the same thing. Just keep it steady and slow it down a bit (not too much) and it is definately the biggest help when you angle the plane down so the missiles can drop faster.

And whenever you see a chopper, just fly right over them and it gives your gunner/copilot a perfect shot everytime, I've taken out blackhawks and attack choppers more than i can remember with LGmissiles.

Imo, those bombers are basically flying rockets. I allways play for the co-pilot. We were playing EF yesterday with some fellow and the first run was something like 23 kills before we were dropped by AA. Those kills were made by co-pilot. I point the target, take of some speed and he may take 2-3 shots with 100% accuracy in one run. If some will survive I'll drop the bombs. No point to waste most accurate gun in the game.:)

My friend and I use the bombers all the time. He is an exellent plane flyier and because we are on teamspeak we coordinate our plans. Which targets he gonna fly over slowly so i can lock on and take out or which targets he is going to bomb himself.

Exactly. With a good copilot we can get first and second place with 40+ kills each and no deaths.

I "gun" for my clan m8 BLacK_JeSuS, he can fly @ full speed, & roll into a perfect 45* angle dive, let me get a "good lock", fire, & roll out

His dive is so perfect, it is like we are sliding down a pole

I got 52 kills in Daqiing Oilfields by the middle of the round once, after that ppl would rather walk than climb on to a skateboard lol

I have got 2 missile kills in the same (relatively shallow) dive also

I get "gold" every time I gun for him

2-seater bombers are a "license to kill"

Often when you gun for strangers in a AH, or bomber they don't have confidence in your capabilities, & won't bother lining up a TV shot, other times they deliberately prevent ("playa' hate")you from getting a shot so you won't "steal their gold"

Sad thing is those type of guys usually can't hit diddly w/ unguided gravity bombs, & I steal their kills anyway because the missile will beat the bomb to the target every time

the copilot in the bomber is the most deadly person on the battlefield. it can take out every vehicle with ease, tanks,cars, helicopters e.t.c, hard to get other planes with them, but still possible :) unguided its deadly as well, just fire it off where you think enemy are and the kills pile in!!!

i have a few people copilot for me and we decimate everything lol, 100 points or more for both people nearly every round :)

Well my first ribbon was the co-pilot is it? can't remember but that was in the 2 seater USMC jet on operation clean sweep, had a good pilot and I took out like 20 armored vehicles on that round.

that is because generaly, no one KNOWS how to use it. it actually is the easiest thing to use in the game.

here is wat most ppl do:

1- right click to go in camera mode
2-spot a circled target
3- try to guide it using the tv
4-miss horriblely

HERES WAT THE RIGHT THING TO DO:'

1-right click to go in camera mode
2-spot circle target( enemy)
3-wait for a auto-lock on tone to apear
4-fire 1 missle randomly without trying to guide it( since it guides by it self once itlocks on to it by it self.)

heres wat happend if the spoted circle enemy is a friendly:

the lock on tone will never apear.

the lock on tone will usually apear after 1-1.4 seconds.

experience, my friends, it's a question of experience! that's the funnest thing about this game, the challenge of finding new ways to KILL!! but once you find your stride, it's the best to develop it.

ussless my ass, i get between 20-50 kills when i fly with a good piolet. its one of the most efective weapons in the game !

A clan mate of mine regularly takes out chopper with the bomber missle. I've come SOOOO close to taking out a jet, but the pilot got him with missles. My missle hit the wreckage though!!
