The tanks actually had to shoot at other tanks, not infantry. And the parachutes weren't as guidable. And there were no Huds.

Worst of all, back in 1942, there was no ranking system (eegatz! How did we live?)

Just do a better job of keeping the squad leader alive and you will be fine. No need to keep him out of the battle.
But do you remeber that all of them where medics.
and that only 3 medics where shooting behind a wall and next to him there was a medic healing him .
    ---------------------------------------

So this will come back more often:

    spawnraping
    spawnblocking
    medic healing behind a wall
    baseraping
pixelshooting with the tank.( just use a pixel to shoot from side to side for preventing the chopper from take of.)

    I know some spots

    snd some other nasty tackticks
public noobs are still getting ownd, only with a different tacktick now

If squad hopping is gone, don't come to the forums to whine if there is more spawnraping/baseraping/spawncamping.

Oh, and I just love the fact that pubbies think competitive people don't do teamwork. AT ALL.
And there is still the individual skill. So, less skilled players will still get killed and owned the same way than before.

LOL "Whaaaa I can't play Wake Island" anymore.... can't read it any more.

Just wait and see how people will organize themselves to get onto the island if the "cheap teleport way" is removed. It worked on Omaha Beach in BF1942, and it will work here too.

Perhaps the J-10 needs to be nerfed but that's another story.

          organize on a public server.....
lz the only organize people are friends and clans who own the public noobs

Well you know before BF2 there was a game called BF1942. It did not give you mobile spawn points, so walking from one flag to the other TOGETHER, IN A GROUP was essential to be successfull. This tactical aspect was completely killed by squadhopping. If players NEED to work together to be successful, they will do it. I've seen it in BF1942. You'll see it in V1.3 too :p

let me tell you something about the good old days

You know because the majorty of bf1942 where clanners and most of the public people had brains back then.
and didn't whine so much but adept

              and don't compare bf1942 and bf2..........
bf2 dam much larger distance, that is the main problem because people don't want to walk much, if you compare that with bf1942 people really waited for you in a car.

also a nice example of the good old days:

in bf1942 if you got baseraped, they didn't complain so much but they realy choose to be a anit-tank class. this class had only 1 pistol no gun .

also people didn't spawn but just spawnend on the right moment and taked an alternate route. this with less spawns.
now days, they just whine and whine and whine and don't adept or just overcome the problem, and I don''t say al the fixes where bad, only overnerfd

Well perhaps this happened because with squadhopping you can be quite successful WITHOUT brains...

Hmm perhaps they don't wait because they know you can spawn anywhere you want because of squadhopping?? Ever thought about that?
For the larger distances, that's totally wrong! Just think about El Alamein. The jeeps are faster in BF2 and they respawn more often.

They are "aware of the concern". Rofl more like the crappy players who can't find anything else to whine about.

                    you still miss te point.

most of the people in bf1942 had brains so they adept and had more teamwork then the avarge bf2 player here.

and don't play like rambo and take a car for only them self or just whine about planes or heli's.

did you know it was fun to take a chopper down in the begin days, now it's only 4 seconds and they are death (boring, easy)
because some bf2 players couldn't handle the fact they had to work toghther to take a chopper down. (also the aa worked fine then)
                    -------------------------------------------------

On El Alamein olmost nobody was going on foot because of the many tanks and planes and transport vichles and the nice teamplay of wait I need a lift.

As much as we like to think this is "our" game, it is not. They made it, they can change it any way they see fit. If for some reason they change it in a manner that I do not agree with, I will be big enough to move on and not litter the boards with whines about it.
If you use an exploit in my eyes your cheating thats what an exploit is and im a straight up player and would never cheat.

BTW your very aragant saying go play another game i baught the original bf2 the day it was relesed the mrs baught me SF i baught Euro forces and i donate to my clan for a ranked PUBLIC server. So i should be able to voice my oppinion anyway i want as long as im not abusive and your out of order coming out with crap like that.

Re: EA/DICE: Squad hopping IS an exploit...

The competitive community as a whole is "NOT" as talented as it would like to belevie. It simply has not shame in jumping on some "Cheap" tactics that pubbers wouldn't find themselves daring to use (Dolphin Diving, Squad Hopping, Bunny Hopping, TKin' for Planes, etc. etc.)

Doesn't make you better, it makes you more of the,"By any means..." mindset. Which is all fine when cash is on the line, but not when fun is the only standard; which is the case with EA. Fun = More sales, Lack of Fun = Less interest and sales. It's a very simple equation.
It indeed is that simple but I seriously doubt this change will mean more fun for anybody. Noobs will get owned more and certain maps will be even more imbalanced.

What they could do instead of this is fix autobalance, so that it balances ranks - and not just number of players. Now it is not uncommon for high ranked players to keep on one side, and lower ranked - on the other. I daresay it is much more of a problem than some exotic techniques that are rarely used on FFA.

And one more thing. I havent heard any whining on SH before April, when there was a leak from EA that this will be removed. Ever since the 80% of the players that cant use this feature praise EA and demands it to be implemented. It would be exactly the same if EA decided to remove jets from the game, or knives, or whatever. The 80% of the population that cant use a certain tool would be happy, the 20% would be a 'miniority', 'exploiters', 'users of cheap tactics'. Thats very typical divide and conquer approach by EA.

                        cheers, Ognacy

don't use teambalance on ranks but on ratio(by armor and weapons)
because I'm low rankend but have a high ratio because of mine many accounts.

I don't care about other squads but it was really nice not having to spawn back at a control point. Which is far away, after running all the way to the enemies position. Especially when one of my guys has survived and is up there needing our support. It just makes me want to be a Squad Leader less, which can't be good for teamwork.

They say they are getting rid of an exploit, I say they are punishing the (now static) squad leader.

While I understand the point in the change as I play mostly squad leader I now get to screw my whole squad over if I join in the fight. Let’s face it when are medics around for the revive? I mean it does happen that you get a good squad but I’d say 3 times out of 4 times I play my squad is all over the bloody map no matter what I do. If I start kicking no one is in my squad, I warn you first of course but if you’re not on, me bye bye.

Why would I explain, I have played it the game for 3 years
and most of my old bf1942 people clan and pub players say that the avarge player is much dummer then in bf2.

because taking all the same route on karkand is just asking for death.

explain: because of experience, and this experience I took with me from bf1942 to bf2 is now tottaly different.
example: because 60% don't even know how to shoot a damm t.v guided missle

You think they are cheap tackticks because only got ownd by them. I'm not, I learned to adept by takeing an other route and take back side of them and ask the commader to spot all of them.

teamwork is not so hard in bf1942, but in bf2 that are not so many people how know to fight as in a team, they just complain instead .

also the buddy systeem was quit handy.

I added every player who knew how to play as a team.
so my experience was getting better and better because.

we worked automatic to getter because of the buddy systeem.
